Tropics are very active this morning with Hurricane Gaston still, out in the Central Atlantic but posing no threat to the U.S.  2 newly developed Tropical  Depressions # 8 in the Atlantic and #9 in the Gulf of Mexico.  Both expected to develop into Tropical Storms but not hurricanes.

Today is Monday, Aug. 29, the 242nd day of 2016. There are 124 days left in the year.

Today's Highlight in History:

On Aug. 29, 1966, the Beatles concluded their fourth American tour with their last public concert, held at Candlestick Park in San Francisco.

On this date:

In 1533, the last Incan King of Peru, Atahualpa (ah-tuh-WAHL'-puh), was executed on orders of Spanish conqueror Francisco Pizarro.

In 1877, the second president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Brigham Young, died in Salt Lake City, Utah, at age 76.

In 1910, Korean Emperor Sunjong abdicated as the Japan-Korea Annexation Treaty went into effect.

In 1935, the film "Top Hat," starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, premiered at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

In 1944, 15,000 American troops of the 28th Infantry Division marched down the Champs Elysees (shahms ay-lee-ZAY') in Paris as the French capital continued to celebrate its liberation from the Nazis.

In 1952, the composition 4'33" ("Four Minutes, Thirty-three Seconds") by avant-garde composer John Cage premiered in Woodstock, New York, as David Tudor sat down at a piano, shut the keyboard lid, and, for four minutes and 33 seconds, played ... nothing.

In 1958, pop superstar Michael Jackson was born in Gary, Indiana.

In 1965, Gemini 5, carrying astronauts Gordon Cooper and Charles "Pete" Conrad, splashed down in the Atlantic after 8 days in space.

In 1972, swimmer Mark Spitz of the United States won the third of his seven gold medals at the Munich Olympics, finishing first in the 200-meter freestyle.

In 1981, broadcaster and world traveler Lowell Thomas died in Pawling, New York, at age 89.

In 1996, the Democratic National Convention in Chicago nominated Al Gore for a second term as vice president. Earlier in the day, President Bill Clinton's chief political strategist, Dick Morris, resigned amid a scandal over his relationship with a prostitute.

In 2005, Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast near Buras, Louisiana, bringing floods that devastated New Orleans. More than 1,800 people in the region died.

Ten years ago: President George W. Bush visited New Orleans one year after Hurricane Katrina devastated the region to offer comfort and hope to residents. Tropical Storm Ernesto's leading edge drenched Miami and the rest of southern Florida.

Five years ago: In a sign Moammar Gadhafi had lost grip on his country, his wife and three of his children fled Libya to neighboring Algeria. Grammy-winning blues musician David "Honey Boy" Edwards, believed to be the oldest surviving Delta bluesman, died in his Chicago home at age 96.

One year ago: Church bells rang marking the decade since Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast; local and congressional leaders laid wreaths at a memorial in New Orleans holding the unclaimed and unidentified bodies from the deadly storm. An Egyptian court sentenced three journalists for Al-Jazeera English to three years in prison for broadcasting "false news," sparking an international outcry. Triple Crown winner American Pharoah lost to Keen Ice in the $1.6 million Travers Stakes before a stunned crowd at Saratoga Race Course. Author and motivational speaker Wayne W. Dyer, 75, died in Hawaii.

Two arrested after body found by Pokemon Go players in Texas

The body of Christopher Lowe was found last Thursday in a cemetery South of New Braunfels.

A man and a woman found the body at the Saint Joseph Cemetery, eight miles southwest of New Braunfels on FM 482 at Bunker Street, just a few hundred feet from Interstate 35. They found the body at 11:54 a.m. and reported it to authorities.

The body of Christopher Lowe, 34, was found last Thursday in a cemetery South of New Braunfels. An autopsy revealed he died from blunt force trauma and multiple stab wounds

sorry guys, been busy with this screen room. the local Code Enforcement Officer showed up Friday and started some shit (the lady's brother who hates me) and I called the cops and filed a harrassment charges against him which resulted in a stop work order until the county codes officer came down. the mayor had to get me to drop charges if he stayed away. Two commutes to work and home the back way which equals about 260 miles. Then #2 son and I rode up to Gig Harbor and back on Friday night, which is another 80 miles. With some miscellaneous trips around town, call it 350 mi on the new bike. Probably will regret not riding to work today, but I was feeling lazy.

But no, over the weekend was on the sailboat with my dad and my sons and a niece and nephew. Debacle of a trip, but, whatever. Wish I'd been on the bike.

I would like to submit an Official MIA Report on Dean Bryant, AKA:  Old Lady Porker, Red Head Sailer, DWG, DAWG Bryant, Deadbeat Provider and Free Contractor.  Dean has been missing since Thursday, last seen boarding a boat to nowhere with a Red Head, and High Hopes for his DAWG.
sorry guys, been busy with this screen room. the local Code Enforcement Officer showed up Friday and started some shit (the lady's brother who hates me) and I called the cops and filed a harrassment charges against him which resulted in a stop work order until the county codes officer came down. the mayor had to get me to drop charges if he stayed away. I said no, let the judge decide next week. now I am painting the walls before the rains come. all stocked up for storm.

Hiya, Steve.

Some nice riding weather here this weekend. How 'bout up your way? You get to log any miles?
Two commutes to work and home the back way which equals about 260 miles. Then #2 son and I rode up to Gig Harbor and back on Friday night, which is another 80 miles. With some miscellaneous trips around town, call it 350 mi on the new bike. Probably will regret not riding to work today, but I was feeling lazy.

But no, over the weekend was on the sailboat with my dad and my sons and a niece and nephew. Debacle of a trip, but, whatever. Wish I'd been on the bike.

Not a bad pre-weekend tally... squalls on the high seas?
On Saturday, yes. Weather turned and it got pretty choppy. Fine weather for my dad and I, not so much for the two littles that were along.

With miscellaneous other mishaps and misadventures, just didn't get much sailing down and didn't get very far asea. Disappointing.  It happens. Maybe next year I'll buy my own boat.

There was a Grand Banks tug for sale at one of the marinas we were at for $59k. That'd be a great boat to have. I could just sell the house and live aboard...

I've known folks to stay on smaller, but would the warden go for it?
Or should I just assume that once you bought it, that's where the warden would send you to live. lol

he's the one that showed up drunk pounding on my trailer wanting to fight when we first started going out. he's a pompous arragant ass who likes to throw his weight around. county codes is happy with my work and gave him a tongue lashing about what he was trying to prove.
I promised the lady that I would do the screen room, pool and deck before we split. so now we are just friends with benefits, and I work when the redhead doesn't need me.

The only objection the warden would have is that we'd live farther away from where she works. The notion of getting rid of all our chit and living in a tiny space wouldn't bother her a bit.

I had to re-read it a couple of times, thought that at first, but I don't think so.  The lady's brother hates Dean, but together they called the cops and filed charges against the CEO.  That's the way I got it.  He didn't say what relation the CEO is to the Mayor....which may be interesting....

Lol. Signed up for it when I still worked Mondays. But, it's only 4 hours, so not that big of a deal. I'm already getting 8 hours extra pay for the day, since it's not a normal scheduled day for me, plus I'll get time and a half while I'm there. So my next paycheck will like the day just fine.

The ex-lady's brother is the code enforcement officer... OMFG!  There's always a good twist somehow.  :o

Happy painting, Deano
I had to re-read it a couple of times, thought that at first, but I don't think so.  The lady's brother hates Dean, but together they called the cops and filed charges against the CEO.  That's the way I got it.  He didn't say what relation the CEO is to the Mayor....which may be interesting....
Code Enforcement appointed by the mayor. remember, I'm living in a backwoods good old boy cracker town.....and I'm referred to as a New York Piece Of Shit to quote the code enforcement officer. we got that on record.
It might help if you didn't call them "crackers".  Just sayin'.
But they may respond favorably to "grit" or "Jethro".  Give it a try.

Morning TD. And morning to CockInMouthLTG.
People were just dying to make the comment.  You get the prize for pulling the trigger.
If there's a prize for that quip, I don't want it.

Yeah, he left a lot out of that narrative.  Even Cliff Notes wouldn't touch this story.

he's the one that showed up drunk pounding on my trailer wanting to fight when we first started going out. he's a pompous arragant ass who likes to throw his weight around. county codes is happy with my work and gave him a tongue lashing about what he was trying to prove.
I promised the lady that I would do the screen room, pool and deck before we split. so now we are just friends with benefits, and I work when the redhead doesn't need me.
I thought I knew...but now I'm not sure....again.
Sounds like book two of the Adventures of Dean is about to wrap up, soon to begin book three in the series.

Trilogies are the way to go, it seems... Followed by the prequel.

trailer needed work and applied for a HUD grant. HUD said the amount of work needed was not cost effective and hence the new HUD house. her car payments were excessive due to fly by night buy here pay here and in Florida I guess you can do a voluntary repossession (???), and she bought a new 2016 KIA Forte with a low interest rate and payment. lady and I are just good friends now is all and I don't mind doing the work. we still have fun together but nothing serious.

Another friggin' Monday.
But  next week Has NO Monday!
It has a Tuesday that's a Monday...and often they're worse!
Well, I have a Friday that is a Saturday and a Thursday that is a Friday so can't be too bad I don't think.  Also on Saturday I am headed to the Low Country for some Tarpon Fishing.
Which Low Country?  Texas have a Low Country?
The other Low Country, the one on the Atlantic Ocean
That was my first thought...but people in other states seem to also use Low Country and Upstate....how dare they?
In Ny we had Upstate, and the city, as well as the island.  In Jersey we have North Jersey, the shore, Atlantic City, central Jersey, South Jersey, and the Pinelands(go Jersey Devil).
Hello guys.

Good thing Fish decided to vacation closer to home and not the Outer Banks this year, TD #9 would interrupt his outdoor smoking!

A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for...
* The coast of North Carolina from Cape Lookout to Oregon Inlet

Maximum sustained winds remain near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher
gusts.  Slow strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and
the depression is expected to become a tropical storm by early
Tuesday.

RAINFALL:  The depression is expected to produce total rain
accumulations of 1 to 3 inches with isolated maximum amounts of 5
inches over far eastern North Carolina, including the Outer Banks.

I'll tell you what is really wrong with this picture is the CEO that is being paid $19 million/year is the daughter of Corrupt Democratic Senator Joe Manchin and they had to shut this noise down.

As usual, headline badly distorts the facts.
Oversimplified, but while there are no restrictions on students performing these types of activities, and because it is a public institution, non students cannot be restricted from campus, the "free speech areas" and commerce areas with required permits was implemented to protect students from just any person selling or pushing any issue, product or belief.  First time you have a non student confront students on campus, there will be an outcry for the University to protect them.

This from a campus where black students have to hang banana's from a black history banner to get any traction for their protests, and The Head Football Coach is sent a complaint by the Freedom From Religion Foundation for praying too much.  Folks trying very hard to manufacture issues.

One more:

OKLAHOMA CITY — Duke University has filed a $9.9 million claim against the estate of former Chesapeake Energy Corp. CEO Aubrey McClendon for pledges the Duke alumnus made that the university says were unpaid at the time of his death in a fiery highway crash.

The claim, which the Durham, North-Carolina-based school filed Aug. 12 in Oklahoma County District Court, is among several totaling hundreds of millions of dollars that seek part of the estate. McClendon was one of the founders of the Oklahoma City-based petroleum and natural gas exploration and production company and part owner of the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder.

McClendon, 56, was killed March 2 when his SUV smashed head-on into a bridge wall at nearly 80 mph a day after McClendon was indicted by a federal grand jury for alleged bid rigging.

Duke’s claim is for “multiple charitable pledges” it says the energy magnate made to the school prior to his death for a variety of programs and projects including work-study scholarships, the football program, an auditorium and a student plaza. The total pledge amount was $18.75 million, of which about $9.9 million remains unpaid, according to the claim.

Mike Schoenfeld, Duke’s vice president of public affairs and government relations, said in an emailed statement Thursday that the claim was a “routine transaction” and was submitted after the university received a notice from McClendon’s estate to submit a claim for the unpaid portion of earlier pledges. McClendon graduated from Duke University in 1981 with a degree in history.

“It is common for the executors of large and complex estates to solicit claims from charitable organizations with pledges that were not fulfilled at the time of the donor’s passing,” the statement said.

Dean,
I've been confused about this for a while, so maybe you can straighten me out....

The soon to be totally ex with or without benefits was in a run down trailer and couldn't make payments, had a car reposessed so bought a new one, and the government offered to build a house for her, which you are now detailing and supplementing?
trailer needed work and applied for a HUD grant.
I hear South Carolina is nice, maybe you should try to find a nice old lady there.
Ha, FormerlyNJDave would make a good wing man.

... And TxDaves son could draw up a pre-relationship contract with specifics on "gazebos for sex" exchange rates.

Weiner off and sexting again.
HUMA-LIATION 2016
SHE'S HAD ENOUGH WEINER!

Humiliated Huma FINALLY dumps sexting Weiner: Hillary's top aide separates from her husband just hours after he sent an admirer a photo of his crotch while their four-year-old son slept beside him.
It appears since she’s been with Hillary she doesn’t like the Weiner anymore.

Not so great from my book.  Corona Gorda good box price is $120, Toro is about $130....occasionally for a bit less.
(Corona sale prices are $158 and $174 respectively)
