Administrative employees 101 - Why I Would Never Supervise Employees In This Inept Operation Again!

Boss Lady is on vacation and I am temporarily in charge of her 10 employees.  Admin Assistant was not here this morning (as usual) and she just came over to my desk and said "I am an hour and a half late this morning but it is not my fault so I don't have to take leave".  (I really don't give a chit it is quieter when she is not here and does nothing anyway)  Ok, but just curious, why is it not your fault?   "Someone was trying to jump off the bridge over the Interstate and the traffic was backed up and that is not my fault"........  Jeesus!  Oh yeah she is 30 minutes to an hour late  everyday "because traffic was backed up".

Spread your cheeks and lube up if you still have $ in the stock markets!

Opening could quickly be down 500 - 600 points +
I hope you are in for a low % with retirement so soon - I saw my grandparents stay greedy around the early 2000s, they barely made it out alive.
I lost my ass in 2008 and just recovering - as of about 6 months ago we have -0- in stocks except for the wardens company bonus shares.  This fall was inevitable just a matter of when and how big.  Thank You Obummer Fed!

Yea, Terminal A is used for United commuters and misc. domestic flights.  Oldest part of the airport and security is shoehorned into a long narrow walkway.  Badly in need of upgrade.

Just keep giving them opportunities!   FYI - my first flight of the trip from Aus to Houston left early and arrived early........
Looks like Bean's flight is scheduled to arrive 1/2 hour early.  We just can't wait to have him back!

Morning guys.  Dave, when I went to my first CFest (10th Anniv.), we ate at the Match & met the "new" owner, who took it over in Feb, I believe ... over 3 yrs. ago.
Cigars were CI brands, but some were less expensive than the CI shop (single stick price).
Food & service were good.  However, last visit, the service was not so good.

I finally smoked that cigar I was bitching about so much.  The one where I only won one in a auction of ten singles ($2.25 for the cigar and $6 shipping..)  Anyway it was an Acid Toast 6x50.  I like sweet tipped cigars, but this was the sweetest one I've ever had.  Almost like pouring sugar onto your tongue.  A tight draw.  I had to puff hard 3 times each time to stoke it back up almost all through the smoke.  First 1/3, sugar and very mild flavor.  Going into the 1/2 way point the sugar dropped off and I'll just go with the experts in saying it had the taste of burnt coffee (I think that's what it was.)  So anyway, it wasn't all that great.

We're trying to find the most reliable in our price range of $0.00 to $20,000 max.  Since we can't go back to Toyota, that leaves the Honda Civic (Rated excellent for reliability) by Consumers Report.  They are also having a sale on the 2016 Hyundia Elantras Value, which has allot of interesting features, heated seats, sun roof, back up camera, and I think blind spot, for about $17,500.  It's rated by Consumers Report on reliability of 33% above average.  And the Kia Soul +, due to I'm getting old and it's easy for me to get in and out of (never thought I'd be saying that), and it's 33% above average for reliability, and also high in safety.  So I think that's the next ones we are going to look at.  The Toyota Corolla was rated 30% above average on reliability (Very Good I think).  So the Hyundia and Kia models we are looking at are on par with a Toyota.  I never thought I'd say that either... :)

Sounds like you have a plan.

Danny isn't here yet.  Gotta go make hay while the sun is shining.
That's beautiful, Tony.  I wasn't paying attention, where are you again?
St. Thomas,  U.S. Devirginized Islands.
Cool.  All you vacationing bastiges are making me envious.
Yeah but I have to go back to work next Monday.
Good morning, folks.

I knew I could shame you out of hiding!  Beautiful Place, ENJOY!  Danny should be nothing more than a short lived thunderstorm for you, use that time to put a notch in your belt ;)
God, I hope you didn't mean with the wife.
No. He meant go eat breakfast. You'll have to let a notch out on your belt afterward.

I won't tell you then how good the waffles are that my wife makes for me most Saturdays. Don't want you to be envious or anything.

FYI:
Cigar Page e-mail of their daily deal is almost a repeat of a deal they had two weeks ago on Buena Vista cigars (listed on CI BLOB). I bit last time 3 boxes of 10 for under $60. Cigars are well constructed, no cello with neck & foot bands, nice box with cedar inserts. I'm pleased with the cigar @ $2 a stick. Probably won't win any CA awards, but a good solid smoke. Box says, "Geneve, Switzerland". Better than the Guantanamera Habano Crystales I had last night.

Friday we have to do the grocery shopping for her dead beat brother, which now involves me since she doesn't have a car.  And, Saturday I have to babysit.  Being retired I have all the time in the world, but I still can't do anything... ugh..!!!

Afternoon gents, sorry I can't stay on, but just read a few pages.
BD, don't buy a KIA (or Hyundai) without consulting with KC first.
I've had good cars with Honda.  PC, aside Subaru's are reliable & lasting ...
my brother got way over 200k miles on his before getting another car.
Flip was not slow on the uptake in replying to Raz's comment on smoking waffles.
He said after a year his smoked straight and true.  I thought that was pretty funny &
quick witted.  Tony, thanks for sending the photos, I echo TxDave, please keep 'em coming, but also the travelogue of daily events. Did 3Bean reach his destination?  What goes up, must come down. (sad for my modest 401k ... ouch). Hope you guys are right about ignoring it for a couple months.  Supposing this time, it doesn't rebound?
Okay, off to get some lunch & fire up another of those Buena Vistas with afternoon coffee to see if I want to get some more.

I've thought of Subaru, it keep coming in the top ratings of new cars.  The only problem is, the only Subaru dealer is way out in St. Louis, and I don't think I can deal with that traffic anymore.
Understandable - but if you get a Subaru you will only go to the dealership 1x/yr for an oil change :)
I only drive 1,000 miles a year.  The car may be rusted up by the time I get it in for it's 1st oil change...
That's no joke, haha!  I say just use Uber and save the cash - could meet some cute cabbies who might pose for pictures during the process...

Well, I have a Redd's Green Apple Ale, and a Swag Black waiting for me.  I've never had the Swag before, but it smells nice.  Can't wait to light it and see how it goes..
That's the downside of this place. Last week I sat on the porch enjoying a bottle of red wine, with my cigars. No glass allowed by the cement pond.
Thanks Sly...  I think I'll message him..

I see the Mazda 3 listed allot in the ratings too.  I'm worried about the sports like ride.  I need an old mans car that's quiet and has a soft ride.  We test drove the 2015 Toyota Corolla S Plus (Sport), and I didn't like the low profile tires which feels every little bump in the road, and it was a little hard to get my fat ass in those sports wrap around seats...  I might be wrong, but I was thinking the Mazda 3 may be more for the kids..?

Look at the touring edition instead of the sport edition.
The 3, while having a nice peppy engine is more buy your daughter sporty (ie looks) rather than son sporty (aggressive performance)

Drone Munition: New line at ammo company meant to ‘protect privacy’ — and down drones
Advertising outreach warns of a “Drone Apocalypse’

Now ready for citizens concerned their privacy is at stake in an increasing drone-friendly culture: Snake River Shooting Products has just introduced Drone Munition shot shell based defense rounds. “Prepare for the Drone Apocalypse,” the Idaho-based company warns in its first advertising outreach for the new line, which they describe as a “12 gauge 3-inch shot shell solution aimed at defending against drone-based privacy concerns and terror.”

Maybe they will legalize hunting them :)

Can't legally fly them around my house because we have a private airport here.

Most states don't have a problem with shooting varmints. It's cities that have an issue with discharging firearms.

Evening Dave(s), CB, raz.  There's a business opportunity in a drone shooting arcade/field.  Replace the live shells with lasers so as not to destroy the targets.  Dress the drones up like aliens.  The extraterritorial kind unless you're on the TX border.  Have competitions, points, corporate parties, etc.
