Friggin Monday already?  At least Dean's happy.  The rest of us may find solace in cigar deals found on the various internet sites.  Join in this discussion and perhaps learn something along the way.  Be warned, post on this site and you will catch hell from members and trolls alike.  Therefore, don't proceed if you have thin skin.  If you can accept all that, light a cigar, pour a drink and welcome aboard!

Good morning boys! Chip, Dave(s), Rick. School closed already today, no doubt tomorrow and we'll see if my surgery stays on schedule for Wednesday
We got an email about an early dismissal.  So far, there's school.  Those fuckers better let me know now before I start making sandwiches.
They called us at 8PM last night with an early dismissal then called at 5:15AM with the closing
They haven't changed ours yet.  Stay tuned...
Just read that they're calling for 3 feet of snow in that area today? That's crazy talk.
Well I just delivered my #1 daughter to school WITH lunch.  So I guess mommy will have to deal with "early dismissal".

In 1925, actor Paul Newman was born in Shaker Heights, Ohio.
Is that near Garfield Heights?
It is, actually. I drive through there sometimes. Lots of nice, big ass houses. Some that almost look like castles.
So what you're saying is that Newman was born rich and just got richer?
That was actually the exact thought I had when I saw the post this morning. Haha.
Was he born a Commie or did he develop that trait in his adult years?

Howdy Scott - get in any cigars or beers this weekend?
Neither, been a good boy lately. No beer since the New Year, dropped 10lbs before surgery and stopped smoking last Saturday, want the healing after the surgery to go well. Will probably be 2-3 weeks before I light-up again. Saturday was a perfect day to smoke too, killed me being outside in 40 degrees weather and not having a cigar. I'll be back with a vengeance

Very understandable - get healed and back to normal as fast as possible!  Good thing that can't stop you from buying though ;)  Weather were awesome here too, hit 30s and sunny every day, no complaints at all.

My husband and I purchased an old home in Northern New York State from two elderly sisters. Winter was fast approaching and the years first snow came early and I was concerned about the house's lack of insulation. "If they could live here all those years, so can we!" my husband confidently declared. One November night the temperature plunged to below zero, and we woke up to find interior walls covered with frost. My husband called the sisters to ask how they had kept the house warm. After a rather brief conversation, he hung up. "For the past 30 years," he muttered, "they've gone to Florida for the winter."

A blonde driving a car became lost in a snowstorm. She didn't panic however, because she remembered what her dad had once told her. "If you ever get stuck in a snowstorm, just wait for a snow plow to come by and follow it." Sure enough, pretty soon a snow plow came by, and she started to follow it. She followed the plow for about forty-five minutes. Finally the driver of the truck got out and asked her what she was doing. And she explained that her dad had told her if she ever got stuck in a snow storm, to follow a plow. The driver nodded and said, "Well, I'm done with the Wal-Mart parking lot, do you want to follow me over to Best Buy now?"

When's BD going to saunter in.  Bet he has a few snow stories to share.

Jan. 26: It's starting to snow. The first of the season and the first one we've seen in years. My wife and I took our hot buttered rum and sat by the picture window, watching the soft flakes drift down, clinging to the trees and covering the ground. It was beautiful!

Jan. 27: We awoke to a lovely blanket of crystal white snow covering the landscape. What a fantastic sight. Every tree and shrub covered with a beautiful white mantle. I shoveled snow for the first time ever and loved it. I did our driveway and sidewalk. Later, a city snowplow came along and accidentally covered up our driveway with compacted snow from the street. The driver smiled and waved. I waved back and shoveled it again.

Jan. 28: It snowed an additional 5 inches last night, and the temperature has dropped to around 11 degrees. Several limbs on the trees and shrubs snapped due to the weight of the snow. I shoveled our driveway again. Shortly afterwards, the snowplow came by and did his trick again. Much of the snow is now brownish-gray.

Jan. 29: Warmed up enough during the day to create some slush which soon became ice when the temperature dropped again. Bought snow tires for both cars. Fell on my ass in the driveway. I went to a chiropractor and spent $145, but nothing was broken. More snow and ice expected.

Jan. 30: Still cold. Sold the wife's car and bought a 4x4 to get her to work. Slid into a guardrail anyway and did a considerable amount of damage to the right rear quarter-panel. Had another 8 inches of the white shit last night. Both vehicles covered in salt and crud. More shoveling in store for me today. That goddamn snowplow came by twice today.

Jan. 31: 2 degrees outside. More fuckin' snow. Not a tree or shrub on our property that hasn't been damaged. Power was off most of the night. Tried to keep from freezing to death with candles and a kerosene heater, which tipped over and nearly burned the house down. I managed to put the flames out, but suffered second degree burns on my hands and lost all my eyelashes and eyebrows. Car slid on ice on way to emergency room and was totaled.

Feb. 1: Goddamn mother fuckin' white shit keeps coming down. Have to put on all the clothes we own just to get to the fuckin' mailbox. If I ever catch the son-of-a-bitch that drives the snowplow, I'll chew open his chest and rip out his heart. I think he hides around the corner and waits for me to open our driveway again! Power still off. Toilet froze and part of the roof has started to cave in.

Feb. 2: Six goddamn more fuckin' inches of fuckin' snow and fuckin' sleet and fuckin' ice and God knows what other kind of white fuckin' shit fell last night. I wounded the fuckin' snowplow asshole with an ice axe, but he got away. Wife left me. Car won't start. I think I'm going snow blind. I can't move my toes. I haven't seen the sun in weeks. More snow predicted. Wind chill -22 fuckin' degrees. I'm moving back to South Carolina!

One winter morning at breakfast a couple was listening to the radio. They heard the announcer say, "We are going to have 8-10 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the even-numbered side of the street, so the snowplow can get through." The wife went out and moved her car.
A week later while they are eating breakfast, the radio announcer said, "We are expecting 10-12 inches of snow today, you will need to move your car to the odd-numbered side of the street so the snowplow can get through." So the wife went out and moved her car again.
The next week, while they were eating breakfast, the radio announcer said, "We are expecting 12-14 inches of snow today and you must park..." Then the power went off! The wife was very upset. With a worried look on her face she said, "Honey, I don't know what to do. Which side of the street am I supposed to park on?"
With the love and understanding in his voice that all men who are married to blondes exhibit, her husband said, "Why don't you just leave it in the garage this time."

I was gonna surprise you in Princeton tomorrow evening.  Oh well.

I don't often get a hankering for martinis with olives - usually prefer a twist of lemon - but got the urge yesterday. Used cheapo gin and vermouth, because plopping a couple of briny olives in destroys any complexity or subtlety anyway, but shook 'em up very cold. Tasty.

Meanwhile, out here in God's country, there's not a cloud in the sky and it's a balmy 43°.  They should send us home just because it's sunny.

Yes sir got one in Saturday (can't even remember wtf it was) then yesterday had one of my rot Uncuts which was an outstanding smoke.  Had a new to me Texas Brewed beer from over in the Piney Woods where they normally brew meth.   Called Texas Crude, a heavy porter type that really was as black as crude oil.   Good beer I thought.

I had to let two trains go by because they were so packed with passengers trying to get an early start.  They actually had fewer train cars than normal.  WTF?  It was damn near riot conditions at the Secaucus Junction.

Time to go home for a smoke, still no decision on what to smoke though.  Might have to just look till I see the right thing.  A perfectly nice 70 degrees for lighting up.

It's the stupidest offering ever.  Something a kid who knows schitt about cigars would purchase for Father's Day, bless his heart.

I normally don't smoke this late, but a cigar would sound good right about now.. :)
