What to eat for breakfast if you want to have a productive day

Sounds promising:  According to William Cole, who specialises in nutrition, what we should be eating first thing is a little more unusual.

He told Mind, Body, Green that a breakfast crammed with fat is the key to maintaining energy levels throughout the day, and eating this way will make you more productive.

Well, hope you did not get too excited!  (The old if it sounds too good to be true then .....,.,)

So what does that mean food wise? William’s best breakfast is an avocado, salmon and two poached eggs served on a sweet potato.

Yep, sorry to report there is no bread, beans or sausage involved. He does advise toasting the potato.

Today is Wednesday, April 19, the 109th day of 2017. There are 256 days left in the year.

Today's Highlights in History:

On April 19, 1967, Kathrine (cq) Switzer became the first woman to run the Boston Marathon (at that time, a men-only event) under an official number by registering without mentioning her gender; by her own estimate, she finished in 4 hours and 20 minutes. (Bobbi Gibb, running unofficially for the second time, finished in 3:27:17.) Former West German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer died at age 91.

On this date:

In 1775, the American Revolutionary War began with the battles of Lexington and Concord.

In 1897, the first Boston Marathon was held; winner John J. McDermott ran the course in two hours, 55 minutes and 10 seconds.

In 1935, the Universal Pictures horror film "Bride of Frankenstein," starring Boris Karloff with Elsa Lanchester in the title role, had its world premiere in San Francisco.

In 1943, during World War II, tens of thousands of Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto began a valiant but ultimately futile battle against Nazi forces.

In 1951, Gen. Douglas MacArthur, relieved of his Far East command by President Harry S. Truman, bade farewell in an address to Congress in which he quoted a line from a ballad: "Old soldiers never die; they just fade away."

In 1966, Bobbi Gibb, 23, became the first woman to run the Boston Marathon at a time when only men were allowed to participate. (Gibb jumped into the middle of the pack after the sound of the starting pistol and finished in 3:21:40.)

In 1977, the Supreme Court, in Ingraham v. Wright, ruled 5-4 that even severe spanking of schoolchildren by faculty members did not violate the Eighth Amendment ban against cruel and unusual punishment.

In 1989, 47 sailors were killed when a gun turret exploded aboard the USS Iowa in the Caribbean. (The Navy initially suspected that a dead crew member had deliberately sparked the blast, but later said there was no proof of that.)

In 1993, the 51-day siege at the Branch Davidian compound near Waco, Texas, ended as fire destroyed the structure after federal agents began smashing their way in; dozens of people, including sect leader David Koresh, were killed.

In 1995, a truck bomb destroyed the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, killing 168 people. (Bomber Timothy McVeigh was later convicted of federal murder charges and executed.)

In 1997, two pizza deliverymen, Giorgio Gallara and Jeremy Giordano, were shot to death outside an abandoned house in Franklin, New Jersey; two teenagers, Thomas Koskovich and Jayson Vreeland, were later convicted of what prosecutors called a thrill killing and were sentenced to life in prison.

In 2005, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger of Germany was elected pope in the first conclave of the new millennium; he took the name Benedict XVI.

Ten years ago: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid offered a bleak assessment of Iraq, saying the war was "lost," triggering an angry backlash by Republicans. A jury in Selmer, Tennessee, convicted Mary Winkler of voluntary manslaughter in the shooting death of her preacher-husband, Matthew. (Mary Winkler spent seven months in custody, with two months served in a mental facility.)

Five years ago: Republicans rammed an election-year, $46 billion tax cut for most of America's employers through the House, ignoring a veto threat from President Barack Obama. (The measure went down to defeat in the Senate.) India announced the successful test launch of a new nuclear-capable missile. Levon Helm, drummer and singer for The Band, died in New York City at age 71. Greg Ham, a member of the Australian band Men at Work, was found dead in his Melbourne home; he was 58.

One year ago: Front-runners Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton swept to resounding victories in New York's primary. Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro delivered a valedictory speech to the Communist Party that he put in power a half-century ago, telling party members he was nearing the end of his life and exhorting them to help his ideas survive. It was announced that Michael Strahan was moving from the daily talk show he co-hosted with Kelly Ripa to work full-time on ABC's "Good Morning America."

Thought for Today: "There is a Law that man should love his neighbor as himself. In a few hundred years it should be as natural to mankind as breathing or the upright gait; but if he does not learn it he must perish." - Alfred Adler, Austrian psychoanalyst (1870-1937).

Edit:  Anniston is on I 20 very near the Talladega Motor Speedway, between Birmingham and the GA State Line.

ANNISTON, ALA. CONSIDERING EXPANDING CIGAR BAR RULES

Last year, Anniston, Ala. kept a law allowing for cigar bars within the northeastern Alabama city—now it’s already considering loosening the rules about where cigar bars can be located.

The original law required cigar bars to be located in freestanding building, but the Anniston City Council is now considering allowing for cigar bars to be located on the top floor of buildings so long as the cigar bar is the sole occupant on the floor.

In addition, they will have to have a sufficient air filtration system and keep at least $50,000 worth of cigars in inventory.

According to The Anniston Star, The modification was brought on by James Roberts who said he has a deal in place to lease a space on the top of a building on 10th and Noble Street. It got its first reading in the city council on Monday.

Husband said paint thinner I guess but we don't have any.  Oh, well I have some nail polish remover, that might work.  (At this point in hearing the story in said "hope they were not plastic lenses as most are these days"....... City council probably does not even know the difference between wholesale and MSRP but at least they are on the right track.

Anniston, Alabama?  That's a relatively small berg in a southern state which shouldn't be jumping on the commie train in the first place.

Moreso that he wanted to kill himself. He was always so adamant about his innocence, and he just had a victory in court last week. Seems like if you were going to kill yourself, you'd have done it a while ago, not when the possibility of a light at the end of the tunnel was there.

Aaron Hernandez found hanged in cell

BOSTON
Aaron Hernandez has committed suicide in prison, according to officials.

Hernandez was discovered by correction officers at the Souza Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley hanged in cell.  He was found around 3:05 a.m.
Gotta say, this one surprises me.
Really? Nothing that happens inside a jail cell really surprises me
Moreso that he wanted to kill himself. He was always so adamant about his innocence, and he just had a victory in court last week. Seems like if you were going to kill yourself, you'd have done it a while ago, not when the possibility of a light at the end of the tunnel was there.
I'm with you on that one. Seems suspicious.

What's going on, ya bunch of humps?
Waiting on you to go back to work.
Actually went to an unofficial orientation last evening. The guy who I'm replacing is going to be on a 6 month assignment in the Philippines (his choice) and since we're still waiting on my contract, there probably won't be any overlap so he's showing me around on his own.

Edit:Virtual tour of the IT systems, not the grounds.

Sounds great, just need a personal chef to throw that together for me
I just finished up something as close as I could to that one using ingredients I had available.  Fried Egg, nice fried thick slice of smoked ham and some hash browns

I'd agree with this AssTalk. He wasn't going anywhere for the Lloyd murder that came with a life conviction without parole. The recent "drive-by" shooting case would have just been tacked on if he was found guilty...

Mid-June thru mid-July mostly works for sure.  Planned last day of work is July 20 then I will be immediately moving out of the house.  We could be in Austin until the end of August but I will be both places during that period.

Warden has to work at least through the end of July and after that is uncertain through the end of the year but we think worst case scenario the end of August.

Home2 Hilton suite for the interim here.

Excellent on all counts. Some light showers rinsed most of the pollen away that Good Friday evening. By Sunday, the weather was beautiful for the family gathering. No smokes that day, but had a few Saturday afternoon/evening.

So, you will surely be "retired" by then. How about the warden? You gotta rent something to stay around a few months?
Warden has to work at least through the end of July and after that is uncertain through the end of the year but we think worst case scenario the end of August.

Home2 Hilton suite for the interim here.
I knew a guy that sold his house and lived there for a year before he bought another one. He was upset that he'd have to start making breakfast for himself.

I'm betting you'll find that the judges were Clinton or Obama appointees. Progressive judges are progressive about everything UNLESS it involves churches. Then they scream about separation of church & state. Anything that involves money flowing from the government to a church, they get uptight about. Muslim "cultural centers?" Whole other ballgame. Church? Fuck the church. Even if it's just about implementing a safety measure that other federal and municipal law requires. It's stupid.

That kinda crap and the Heller decision is why I didn't want to see Merrick Garland on the SCOTUS, and I did want Gorsuch.

Sounds great, just need a personal chef to throw that together for me
I just finished up something as close as I could to that one using ingredients I had available.  Fried Egg, nice fried thick slice of smoked ham and some hash browns
Thinking I'm going to do that as breakfast for dinner tonight.

Steak and eggs sounds delish. Especially if it's on parm frico eggs.

Fuk'n COMMIE recipe!
Steak and eggs is commie?
it's them shallots, in the salsa verde, that and the basil,
but they did have the good sense to use flat leaf, not curly parsley.
Curly parsley? Puhlease!

OK, lets get to 10 already.

Justice Gorsuch got to rule on his first big case, requiring Missouri to reimburse a Lutheran school under grant program that reimburses non-profit groups for installing rubber playground surfaces.  Are judges in Missouri just that stupid?
Lived there 4 long years and yes, they still have not figured out if they are in the north or the south.
