Baptism
-------------------------
A drunk stumbles along a baptismal service on Sunday afternoon down by the
river. He proceeds to walk down into the water and stand next to the
Preacher.
The minister turns and notices the old drunk and says, "Mister, Are you
ready to find Jesus?"
The drunk looks back and says, "Yes, Preacher... I sure am."
The minister then dunks the fellow under the water and pulls him right back
up. "Have you found Jesus?" the preacher asked.
"No, I didn't!" said the drunk.
The preacher then dunks him under for quite a bit longer, brings him up and
says, "Now, brother, have you found Jesus?"
"No, I did not Reverend."
The preacher in disgust holds the man under for at least 30 seconds this
time, brings him out of the water and says in a harsh tone, "My Good man,
have you found Jesus yet?"
The old drunk wipes his eyes and asks the preacher... "Are you sure this is
where he fell in?"

Good news for all on the rain, I hope we can hold off another week or so here on the rain though. We have had more than our share so far this year.
-
Time to hit the road for work, enjoy your day guys.
We got to get you pw'ing only need 15 more!
Workaference will start soon I am afraid.

Lake is still 50 feet low here so we can use plenty more. The rain last night was in the wrong place and will offer little help to the main lakes but still, valuable for the aquifer.

FML. I'm gone during the most perfect weather week in the area and return for the wettest week in a while. But I wasn't dealing with termites, algae, and insurance people, so guess I can't complain.

We did have some lovely weather while you were gone. Add the Dentist to that list too. Insurance is all worked out just got to get the work done now. Algae is still hanging on but getting better and termites are dead just got to get someone to repair the damage they did now, no structural damage though just trim work.

Heck, if he got the offer that quickly, should have countered with a 10% increase.....negotiate!

Hmmm, not Charleston too expensive and too crowded. Just close enough to go have lunch or dinner there. Georgetown, McClellanvile or skip down to Hilton Head and maybe Savanah areas.

The offer was good enough and he really liked the people and more importantly the situation that he figured no reason to quibble over what might or might not be on the table.

Well the State is defending the border as much as they can with their own forces, it is an overwhelmingly R state, we do encourage private ownership of guns and ammo, we are allowed by law to defend our person and property from threats and we are pretty damn independent with over half the nations fuel resources. Oh yeah and there is the Alamo! I don't think "O" supports a lot of those ideals. Yes folks are pretty uptight but the Governor has now said he is confident that this is a legitimate military exercise and ok.
-
WTF Raz? Why'd you break the banter?
Wasn't me, chief. It was the NSA. They detected I was posting about Jade Helm and rerouted all packets destined for CigarBanter through extra checks. There are now a couple of black panel vans parked outside the office, and a circling chopper.

Obama doesn't believe in ideals enough to feel threatened by any. I'm sorry to the good people of Texas, but I'm giggling about all this. Even commies know one doesn't impose martial law unless forced to. It's personnel-intensive, prompts the very human resistance impulse, and increases the cost of doing business. It's cheaper to just lie, lie, lie and keep the money flowing. Long as the money's flowing, you've got them by the 'nads. No need to grab the neck.

I really enjoy those amped up connie wrapped cigars. The NW Reserva, My Father Connecticut, etc... Best of both worlds - big flavors but milder strength.

Who siad it would start in Texas and who said they "want" it????? Seattle, Baltimore, NY, Ferguson - any of those ring a bell? While it is in TX could be in many other places too but does Garland ring a different bell? I don't run in the conspiracy circles but I do watch the news.

Not yet but they are right outside of town. PTL "O" said we have nothing to fear!
Yeah, and your governor is monitoring them.
Word on the news is people are really uptight down there. Is there some particular reason folks think Big O is targeting Texas? They've even got my cousin up in arms.
Except they do have to practice it many times before the real thing, perhaps in late fall of 2016 according to many! ;)
Still giggling. If Texans want to see martial law in the late fall of 2016, they need to get off their asses and actually start, y'know, revolting. ;)
Who siad it would start in Texas and who said they "want" it????? Seattle, Baltimore, NY, Ferguson - any of those ring a bell?
Yeah, but notice that Jade Helm doesn't designate Washington, Maryland, NY or Missouri are hostile areas. ;)
So? That is totally meaningless, TX is not the only Jade Helm state either.

Son got a call about 30 minutes after his interview yesterday and made him an offer he could not refuse, starts work this morning at 9:00. Office in Georgetown T Dave & Short Stack, they mostly do work from Myrtle Beach to Charleston.
Dang, that's great. Like Dean's bikerlady, they couldn't do without him.
Can we still call her a bikerlady? Does she still have a bike? Is Dean looking to get a hog?
That's not a nice way to refer to Dean's friend.
So what?
no big deal, she'll be here Fri, Sat, and Sun. I will be absent from the banter all weekend.
Becoming a regular occurrence Dean....not that we're jealous or anything... :'(

So? That is totally meaningless, TX is not the only Jade Helm state either.
There. I riled Tex. It's gonna be a good day.
;)
Just say "Texas sucks" and they start rioting in the streets of Houston.
Or say California Sucks and another million of you will move here. :) Oh, wait a minute don't have to say anything they will come anyway.
Then I say good riddance... more water for me!
Many more come to this area and might have to start requiring they bring water, our primary water supply lake is 50 feet low right now and we are almost done with the rainy season.
I'll grab some in New Mexico when I come.
Easier to steal it from Arizona. California been doing that for a long, long time.
Just a side note Raz, the Famous Cow Town of Ft Worth has moved almost as far left as Austin.

Tex, those Jade Helmers come to disarm you yet?
Not yet but they are right outside of town. PTL "O" said we have nothing to fear!
Yeah, and your governor is monitoring them.
Word on the news is people are really uptight down there. Is there some particular reason folks think Big O is targeting Texas? They've even got my cousin up in arms.
Except they do have to practice it many times before the real thing, perhaps in late fall of 2016 according to many! ;)
Still giggling. If Texans want to see martial law in the late fall of 2016, they need to get off their asses and actually start, y'know, revolting. ;)

LOL, good idea. Screw water, I'll bring booze.
Throw in some cigars with that and we will come pick you up, add couple of cases of that $55 Lagavulin and we will send a jet for you!
No wonder everyone's flocking to Texas... with an offer like that it's hard to say no.

Nah, the wife didn't even make Mexican food last night. I drank bourbon and helped #2 son with his geometry.

Agreed and +1... although, like Bret, I was enjoying some Bourbon. Turkey 101 more specifically.

Good morning gents. Got in a Pudgy Drac this morning with Mike before mowing the lawn in the rain. Raining the next 2 days so I figured I better just gut it out.
Nice. Had an EPC New Wave Reserva last night, really like that cigar.
I smoked the one NJDave sent me a few days ago - was a dang good cigar
I really enjoy those amped up connie wrapped cigars. The NW Reserva, My Father Connecticut, etc... Best of both worlds - big flavors but milder strength.
That's exactly it. I'm not a conny guy usually, but I like those

Same here, not a connie fan but the EPC was great and the best of the bunch imo. Better than the MF connie by far to me

Least he's not dropping it in your slipper. I have one bad memory of skating across the kitchen floor. It was dark. I wasn't awake yet. Sure, I can laugh now, but at the time, I wanted to kill that damn dog... I love that damn dog. haha

Howdy, Dave. Appreciate the PM this weekend. Was a great deal, but didn't 'pull the trigger'. Keep 'em coming though. Always on the lookout.

Well we're crate training him so no accidents on the floor but I think the crate was getting too small for him so I moved the divider this morning. Fine line between enough and too much room when crate training

Thankfully, we dodged a bullet with all of that, our rescue dog came house trained. She's fine in the crate all night, too. Too much of a chewer to let her out just yet, and she seems to like her 'safe place' away from the kids at times.

Haven't had a lot of rye. Between the regulars and recent dabbling in the scotch. Probably haven't given it much chance because I don't particularly like rye in the beers I tried... negative connotation I suppose.

I wouldn't have minded that and true puppies are a rarity with the rescue we used but he was the breed I wanted. Still have to keep him restricted, he gets goofy with too much space just yet. He's still only 13-14 weeks at this point

I haven't had many beers with rye in it but I wouldn't necessarily compare the two. If you're curious, pick up a bottle of Rittenhouse. Under $30 but is still a very good rye. It's my "go to" rye.

The shelter guessed nine months when we took the dog home, but a vet visit estimated it closer to 14 months, so I guess it's not all that surprising. It's a boxer/beagle mix, so it's quite the combo of energy, curiosity, cleverness, and destructiveness. If it were up to me, she'd stay in the crate for the next 10 years.

Wish we would have went that route. The accidents didn't last long. Has held it over 10 hours in extreme cases when left inside with no issue. Problem now is she's up and down all night and I'm a light sleeper. [insert joke here]

nope, I made the mistake of leaving the Just Grapes sangarita, to head to "El Norte"

I wouldn't have minded that and true puppies are a rarity with the rescue we used but he was the breed I wanted. Still have to keep him restricted, he gets goofy with too much space just yet. He's still only 13-14 weeks at this point
Nice combo for kids and temperment, mine's a Beagle/Jack Russell Terrier mix...damn those Beagles are sluts!

CNS, funny story is that really early on you have no time to get to the dog once he whines so I was outside at 4:45AM trying not to piss my pants until he got done
You guys need to bond and piss together. ;D
Doesn't want the dog to snicker at him.
Or go after it like it's a Snausage

We got ours at 9 weeks so he was as young as can be but he was always comfortable in a crate so that helped

nope, I made the mistake of leaving the Just Grapes sangarita, to head to "El Norte"
i was told via FB they were having many specials, and two different bevies of Tequila shot girls.
at 6:45pm you couldn't get into the parking lot from the highway... those tequila girls should have car pooled!
What's a bevie/bevy? Is that metric?
a bevy of beauties... like a tower of giraffes or flock of sheep or a murder of crows....

I can believe it. Too many folks go ape shit just because the date. Like the fools that crowd up all the good Irish bars just because it's St. Patrick's Day. We did just fine without you there the other 364 days... give or take a day. Like Mother's Day. I predict every breakfast/lunch/brunch restaurant will be packed around the corner Sunday afternoon. Nothing says I love you Mom like an hour wait in line... sheesh

You been buying your cigars on the street in Downtown Miami these days?
DPG has a nice store on Calle Ocho and 13th Ave in downtown Miami. Oh wait! Were you talking about the 3 X 24s?
I was talking about on the strets not in the stores. :)

Oh, and Mr. Mayor. I just looked at the glass ashtray in the CFest swag bag. It's nice enough, but it ain't no cigar ashtray. There are no leafs or pedals or WTF you call the cigar rests. The "ledge" is only 3/8" wide. Good luck balancing a cigar on that. Sheesh.

That would be the NSA monitoring program. Every word has to pass through their servers before you see it on your screen. Nothing to worry about. Just like the hijacking of the rest of the constitution, you'll get used to it. Comrade.

Afternoon, all. Seems kinda quiet. Everyone still nursing their tequila hangovers?
Afternoon B.S.
Howdy, Dave. Appreciate the PM this weekend. Was a great deal, but didn't 'pull the trigger'. Keep 'em coming though. Always on the lookout.
That was a super deal! Even had the Raz approval.
That's not usually considered a plus.
True but when it applies to gun deals it has value.
Well, a bit easier to recognize and keep track of gun deals than cigar or booze deals.
Tends to cost a little bit more per deal as well.
Yeah, but guns last for decades...even centuries.
if you don't open the seal on the booze, so do they....
I know, that's just crazy talk...... :o
Completely crazy. You can use guns and they'll still last centuries.

Will be buying tires come August. The maintenance/carb rebuild/electrical repair drained my funds, so have to rebuild them. After that I start planning the winter projects: fairing, paint, base gaskets, and more electrical work. Next summer, she'll be looking grand.
