I'm considering a career change. I want to be a gover for CI. I believe that's one who goes over all the copy, checks it for spelling errors, [lights a cigar] and then ignores them.

Certainly a nice sounding job but would you have to go to work if it is raining?

December 2 is............Fritters Day. (Make mine Conch Fritters)

Alright, let’s start this out by admitting something. Prior to Fritters Day we had no idea that Fritters came in any other variety than Apple. A whole new world was opened up to us when we discovered that there were blueberry fritters, and banana fritters, pineapple fritters and even clam and shrimp fritters.

Wait… what?

Yep! Fritters is a term for any food item… any

History of Fritters Day

Fritters are popular all over the world, though obviously they’re not called fritters everywhere you go. In Asia there are several varieties, including the Burmese a-kyaw which is popularly made with a rich gourd filling, and are typically served with tea, or for breakfast. Because who doesn’t like deep fried gourds for breakfast? Admittedly, they also have it made from chickpea, onion, brown bean paste, just to name a few.

In Indonesia fritters are called gorengan, with one of the most popular being pisand goring, a banana based fritter. But don’t let that stop you from trying the breadfruit and sweet potato varieties. In Indonesia they think the perfect accompaniment to fritters is bird’s eye chili. Apparently they enjoy some soul searing spice with their fritters, but who are we to judge?

One type of fritter you may not have realized you’ve had is Tempura. That’s right, that delicious battered and fried dish from your favorite Japanese restaurant is also considered a fritter. Of course, if all one has to do is batter and fry something to make a fritter, does that make deep fried Twinkies a Twinkie Fritter? The mind boggles indeed.

Former USC Trojans and New York Jets running back Joe McKnight was shot to death in an apparent road rage incident outside New Orleans on Thursday, Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand said.

McKnight was 28.

"At approximately 2:43 p.m. today we received a call of a shooting that occurred here at Holmes [Boulevard] and Behrman Highway (in Terrytown)," Normand said. "Our officers arrived on the scene and immediately began giving CPR to an individual who was shot and lying on the ground, with EMS and others assisting at this location.

Today is Friday, Dec. 2, the 337th day of 2016. There are 29 days left in the year.

Today's Highlight in History:

On Dec. 2, 1816, the first savings bank in the United States, the Philadelphia Savings Fund Society, opened for business.

On this date:

In 1804, Napoleon crowned himself Emperor of the French.

In 1823, President James Monroe outlined his doctrine opposing European expansion in the Western Hemisphere.

In 1859, militant abolitionist John Brown was hanged for his raid on Harpers Ferry the previous October. Artist Georges-Pierre Seurat was born in Paris.

In 1927, Ford Motor Co. unveiled its Model A automobile that replaced its Model T.

In 1939, New York Municipal Airport-LaGuardia Field (later LaGuardia Airport) went into operation as an airliner from Chicago landed at one minute past midnight.

In 1942, an artificially created, self-sustaining nuclear chain reaction was demonstrated for the first time at the University of Chicago.

In 1954, the U.S. Senate passed, 67-22, a resolution condemning Sen. Joseph R. McCarthy, R-Wis., saying he had "acted contrary to senatorial ethics and tended to bring the Senate into dishonor and disrepute."

In 1961, Cuban leader Fidel Castro declared himself a Marxist-Leninist who would eventually lead Cuba to Communism.

In 1970, the newly created Environmental Protection Agency opened its doors under its first director, William D. Ruckelshaus.

In 1980, four American churchwomen were raped and killed outside San Salvador. (Five El Salvador national guardsmen were later convicted of murdering nuns Ita Ford, Maura Clarke and Dorothy Kazel and lay worker Jean Donovan.)

In 1982, in the first operation of its kind, doctors at the University of Utah Medical Center implanted a permanent artificial heart in the chest of retired dentist Dr. Barney Clark, who lived 112 days with the device.

In 1991, American hostage Joseph Cicippio (sih-SIHP'-ee-oh), held captive in Lebanon for more than five years, was released.

Ten years ago: Fidel Castro failed to attend a military parade marking the 50th anniversary of the formation of Cuba's Revolutionary Armed Forces, raising questions about his ability to return to power. A triple car bombing in a predominantly Shiite district of Baghdad killed dozens of people. A sport utility vehicle driven by actor Lane Garrison hit a tree in Beverly Hills, killing a 17-year-old passenger; Garrison was later sentenced to three years and four months in prison for drunken driving (he was paroled in April 2009).

Five years ago: U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Myanmar opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi (ahng sahn soo chee) vowed to work together to promote democratic reforms in Suu Kyi's long-isolated and authoritarian homeland. The Labor Department announced the unemployment rate had fallen to 8.6 percent in Nov. 2011, the lowest since March 2009.

One year ago: A couple who had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State opened fire at a holiday banquet for public employees in San Bernardino, California, killing 14 people and wounding 21 others before dying in a shootout with police. Former national security adviser Sandy Berger, 70, died in Washington.

We have a High School 6A District Quarterfinal game here tonight between our high school and a nearby powerhouse with either team probably capable of beating half the FBS Teams but the other teams quarterback can't play because of a wrist injury.  He is a senior already committed to the Longhorns but supposedly the sophomore backup is almost as good.  Game is even televised.

That should be a fun game to watch. Our High School team will be playing their championship game on Sunday at the MetLife Stadium. My daughter is playing in the half time show.
What is she playing?

Lot of running around to do today, somewhat of a DeanDay without the sexcapades.
Where's the fun in that?
Going to the 4th carpet store with hope for getting some lube prior to penetration this time.
Sounds like you're fixin' to stay.
New Carpet is for selling not staying. ( Builders grade, looks good don't last very long)

Then the first carpet place would have done the trick. After you sell it, they're just gonna tear it up anyway.

No, the first one was Lowes and also the most expensive.  2nd one was a lier and crook.  3rd one was a general piece of crap operation.  4th one coming up did a good job for a very meticulous friend and their predominant business is with builders.

And yes, 90% will rip it out before they move in but it has to look great when they see the house.  Any smart buyer would prefer old carpet and a decorating allowance but smart buyers are few and far between.

Decorator at the 4th one is also young, hot and blonde!

Carpet shopping is much like mattress shopping, you have no idea what anything really is because they sell, the same shit under 25 different names but in reality only a small handful of companies make all of them but with carpet there is no trial period once it is delivered it is yours to keep and the so-called warranties are garbage.

Ours is 16 years old and the carpet and padding are just tired.  Lasted that long because the previous owner that built the house was a single woman living here 7 years and probably spent less than a year actually inside in it.  Had a maid service 2 days a week whether she was here or not.  Still says she would be interested in having it back but she would be expecting it to look perfect which it will.

Lot of running around to do today, somewhat of a DeanDay without the sexcapades.
then it's not truly a Dean Day. morning Dave. AF rothchilde and gingerale while coffee brews.
Speaking of Rothchildes, I see that Illusione has released a Rothchildes Connecticut.

I notice that the last time I ordered... Keep the San Andrés in regular rotation. I figured Ogie may give some insight, although I'm not the biggest connie fan.
Shared a pic on August 31, 2016: reply #134.  First impression was very good.  Hard to judge against the original since that is basically a new standard of measurement for me.

Lot of running around to do today, somewhat of a DeanDay without the sexcapades.
Where's the fun in that?
Going to the 4th carpet store with hope for getting some lube prior to penetration this time.
Sounds like you're fixin' to stay.
Carpet is for selling not staying.

Decorator at the 4th one is also young, hot and blonde!
is it a woman or a man?

hot & sour soup, Beef with japanese egglplant, pork fried rice...
That sounds great. I guess it's time to take a break from studying in order to have lunch.
When is the next exam?
Oral or rectal?
They're all rectal.
