Any cigar deals on the various internet sites that are worth talking about? Join in this discussion and perhaps learn something along the way.  Be warned, post on this site and you will catch hell from members and trolls alike.  Therefore, don't proceed if you have thin skin.  If you can accept all that, light a cigar, pour a drink and welcome aboard!

Fired
-------------------------

When Peters learned that he was being fired, he went to see the head of
human resources. "Since I've been with the firm for so long," he said, "I
think I deserve at least a letter of recommendation."

The human resources director agreed and said he'd have the letter that
next day.  The following morning, Peters found the letter on his desk. It
read, "Jonathan Peters worked for our company for eleven years.  When he
left us, we were very satisfied."

Morning, muchachos. I was up to late herfing with friends last night. Good times, but I am paying for it this morning.
Everyone's undies clean when it was all said and done?  ;)  Mornin Raz!
Yeah, it was a school night, and there were firearms, so everyone tried to be responsible. Instead if drinking all my booze in two hours, they took four.
we wuz just a looking at the guns, and drinking bourbon, they wuz supposed to be unloaded officer, cause we sure weren't.

maybe these guys can help me get rid of the Rhum Agricoles I had purchased. was trying for a substitute for LeBlon Brazilian CACHACA for my Caipirinhas.  kind of a brazilian version of a mint julip, if you muddled limes instead of mint, and used cachaca instead of bourbon.

I don't generally drink rums except in Mojitos or the occasional Cuba Libre.  But one would think Cachaca and Agricole could be interchanged, at least on paper.  It didn't work?

I'm sure we can make it disappear, if you need us to.  It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it.

Ha!  Those two think they have problems now, just wait until the first meeting off-site turns out to be in a box on a frozen lake.

I fucking hate people again today!  Just got out of another meeting where somehow I have to volunteer to do everyone else's job.  Wouldn't be half bad if I got a portion of their paychecks too.  Sheesh.

If anyone's interested in 601 Green Label Oscuro Tronco 10 Pack, $22.50 on Famous bid ending in 20 min. $5.99 shipping but nothing additional for added items, just check settings before bidding. (30) available so the price should hold
This is a very dangerous day to have a tax refund sitting in my account.

wait, wasn't somebody going to put up a lunch menu?
Last night: stopped by one of the local chinese restaurants, and got wonton soup, house special soup,
chicken with black bean sauce, boneless spare ribs dinner(pork fried rice and an egg roll) fried dumplings
and cold spicy noodles. they forgot the peanut sauce on the noodles.
Today: think i'm going across the street to get some Mikey D's fillet o' fish (two for $4).

wait, wasn't somebody going to put up a lunch menu?
stopped by one of the local chinese restaurants, and got wonton soup, house special soup,
chicken with black bean sauce, boneless spare ribs dinner(pork fried rice and an egg roll) fried dumplings
and cold spicy noodles. they forgot the peanut sauce on the noodles.
think i'm going across the street to get some Mikey D's fillet o' fish (two for $4).
A coworker wants to do sushi today, but my slightly hung-over stomach is craving greasy red meat. I'm thinking cheeseburger.
Yes Sir - be a man!  Cheeseburger, fries and gatorade~!
Gatorade?  Good God, man!  That's almost health food!  Doctor Effin' Pepper!
Or Mr. Pibb for our southern BOTLs
Up north, our guy is a Doctor.... 10 - 2 - 4  that when you were supposed to drink it, give the prune juice in it a chance to work.

Way down south it did not much matter we just called it a Coke but if it was really a Dr Pepper we always dumped some salted peanuts in it so as to make a full meal.

WASHINGTON — Senior Republicans conceded on Tuesday that the grueling fight with President Obama over the regulation of Internet service appears over, with the president and an army of Internet activists victorious.

The Federal Communications Commission is expected on Thursday to approve regulating Internet service like a public utility, prohibiting companies from paying for faster lanes on the Internet. While the two Democratic commissioners are negotiating over technical details, they are widely expected to side with the Democratic chairman, Tom Wheeler, against the two Republican commissioners.

You'd rather the cable companies be in charge of the internet?
Yep, the gubmint is in charge of cable companies already, how is that working for you?
No, you've got it backwards - cable companies pay off Congressional republicans to try to get them to end net neutrality. Luckily, it didn't pay off.
I have to admit, I might be 'democratic' on this issue, as much as it hurts me mentally.
Being right has never hurt anyone.

I will look forward to your report on the results in about 6-9 months.
Since the internet will be able to be accessed freely, by all, without reductions of speed or cable company whims, that'll be easy enough to accomplish.

Yeah, my study gets pretty smokey when it's more than two people.  I don't have a sophisticated ventilation system yet, but working on that.

Now, when I take the travel trailer out, I sit by one of these and smoke.

Filling up propane tanks after work tonight and possibly stopping by the liquor store - counting down the minutes!
Propane tanks...for heaters or for an RV?
For my garage heater, 2-20lb tanks

That'd do it.  Just for you or hosting a herf?
Just for me and my internet friends ;)  Usually just me, I invite more people over in the summer months, just gets too smokey in the winter since I hot-box it and then air it out after.
Yeah, my study gets pretty smokey when it's more than two people.  I don't have a sophisticated ventilation system yet, but working on that.

Now, when I take the travel trailer out, I sit by one of these and smoke.
Love the Summer and Fall for the outdoor fires!

That little fire ring can actually put out a bunch of heat.  Works great for those stupid places that don't allow campfires.

Found out I didn't get the job I applied for - haven't been officially rejected but I heard about the new org chart from a very credible source.  We will see what happens next as far as what I will be doing...
Well chit but might be for the best hope there is something good in the bushes for you.

Agreed, just trying to stay positive.  I have a really good relationship with the guy who got the job, so I don't think I will get hosed - just would like an official confirmation :)

What do we care? We'll just collude with the vendors, buy a secret big pipe, get our lobbyists to make Congress pay for it, pass the cost on to our customers anyway, skim the profits into offshore banks, kick some back to the vendors and the congressmen, and call it good.

Sounds great.  Count me in.  And I'll work for just $500K, so no excuses.
We will take you Bean as you could easily replace Raz and CG both.  Besides we got Tony so,we own the Banter
Good call.  Besides this banter needs feet and Raz will bring up the company's healthcare premiums.
TOO FAR!  Those iz fighin' words!   >:(              ;)

And internet bandwidth. Lots and lots of bandwidth.
I hate to tell you this but Golf and CG are with Obama's thugs and taking that away from us on behalf of those previously deprived of Netflix.
What do we care? We'll just collude with the vendors, buy a secret big pipe, get our lobbyists to make Congress pay for it, pass the cost on to our customers anyway, skim the profits into offshore banks, kick some back to the vendors and the congressmen, and call it good.
See, now THIS is a visionary!  Don't forget the pizza, women, and booze!  Plus guns and cigars of course!
Lots and lots of guns.  And women.  Not those ambitious, business-suit types.  The ones in skimpy lingerie.

Simple.  We'll be contractors for the Defense Dept.  I already scored the contract to do the design for an integrated requisitions system.  I suggested you guys to take on the analysis of current systems.  At this rate, we'll all be retired by the time we're supposed to start competing.

We are going to need more meetings, and more people too!  ;)
We are pretty well covered on the guns and ammo needs but Bean will be our VP of Shooting, Tony is VP of Food and Beverage.  Probably consider Travellin Dave for VP of Health & Smoking.
I'm Flattered for the nomination!
You know they're full of shit, right?
Yea, your point?  Allow me my delusions!
My bad.

Now I'm not sure, it's pretty lively across the street, and the warden is in a bitchy mood, so no point trying to talk to her.  Hmmmm...
Definitely the place to be after hours.... with after hours being 7:00 Eastern.

Granted, I've had a glass of wine and two gin and tonics, so the resulting ruminations may not be as erudite as might otherwise might be expected of a sage such as myself, but I shall proceed regardless.
So are you going to go for three?
Helluva suggestion.  But no, it's a school night, so I shall refrain. But damn, the flesh is willing, but the spirit is weak.
There's that maturity creeping in again.... I'm sure there was a day when you had no need of such restraint.
Beer or martini?  I'm leaning toward the latter.

I'll second that if you need the encouragement.  Winding down with a scotch myself after a nice dinner at Karl Strauss brewpub.

Now that's a cause I can get behind.  You having one?  I need some enabilization.  I can't be fuccked up on a Wednesday night alone, you know.

Yes, that does seem to be how it's fallen into place.  Which is OK, keep the neighborhood hoppin'.

Its always been that way, even with only the CI banter, different crew taking over for the evenings.

Really enjoying this drink.  I'm hoping it will put me in the right frame of mind because I needed an attitude adjustment.  The last couple of days were brutal.

Indeed.  And now the warden is bugging the schitt out of me over some network issues, which she caused trying to hook-up a new printer.  FML.

Don't care for olives, so martini's have never been my choice of drink, although lemon twist is acceptable.  Do occasionally go for one with onion, but technically that's a Gibson.

Might have to give that one a whirl sometime. Do like a Manhattan as well.

No longer have that problem, but I guess that reason enough for an extra beverage.

Other than a G&T, my usual go to with gin is a Gimlet.  Refreshing in summer if that ever gets here.

Never had that either but it recently came up in a discussion with some colleagues.  Look forward to trying it in the warmer weather.

Gibsons are best with a couple drops of bitters.  Accentuates the onions.  Evening, boys.
