Ten years ago: Two dozen Iraqi men, women and children in Haditha (hah-DEE'-thuh) were killed by U.S. Marines after a Marine was killed by a roadside bomb. (Eight Marines were initially charged in the case; one was acquitted and six others had their cases dropped. The squad leader, Staff Sgt. Frank Wuterich, received a general discharge under honorable conditions after pleading guilty to negligent dereliction of duty.) President George W. Bush arrived in Beijing for talks with Chinese leaders. For the first time in 58 years, Indians legally walked into Pakistan after a landmark decision to temporarily open divided Kashmir's heavily militarized border following a major earthquake. Tropical Storm Gamma deluged the coast of Central America.

Thought for Today: "You can always tell gifted and highly intelligent people as they always turn to the past. Any young person who knows anything that happened before 1980, or 1990, or 2000 for that matter, is immediately someone who is intelligent, probably creative, maybe a writer. Nobody who is drawn to the past and learning about the past is not gifted." — Mike Nichols (1931-2014).

The Husband Store
-------------------------

A store has just opened in New York City that offered free husbands. When women go to choose a husband, they have to follow the instructions at the entrance:

"You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are 6 floors to choose from. You may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go up to the next floor, but you CANNOT go back down except to exit the building!"

So, a woman goes to the store to find a husband. On the 1st floor the sign on the door reads: Floor 1 - These men Have Jobs

The 2nd floor sign reads: Floor 2 - These men Have Jobs and Love Kids.

The 3rd floor sign reads: Floor 3 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids and are extremely Good Looking.

"Wow," she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going. She goes to the 4th floor and sign reads:
Floor 4 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Good Looking and Help With Housework.

"Oh, mercy me!" she exclaims. "I can hardly stand it!" Still, she goes to the 5th floor and sign reads:
Floor 5 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous, help with Housework and Have a Strong Romantic Streak.

She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the 6th floor and the Sign reads:
Floor 6 - You are visitor 71,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that you are impossible to please.
Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store.

To avoid gender bias charges, the store’s owner opened a Wife Store just across the street.

The 1st first floor has wives that love sex.

The 2nd floor has wives that love sex and have money.

The 3rd through 6th floors have never been visited....

Yeah, scorchers end at 9:00 Eastern time this morning.

Be warned though that while they go fast and have a lot of very nice cigars they also play Famous Games.  When you put something in your cart you have to check it out then or one of two things will randomly happen.  They will, raise the price in your cart or just wipe out your cart.  It is really bullshit because last night they had several deals close together and put 3 in my cart then went to check them out all at once.  Price went up on my T-52's, one order was gone and one was still there.

Guess the great cigars and prices are a kickoff come-on and they will go downhill soon like the other daily deals. :o

Scorchers on CigarPage can keep Chip busy until other folks arrive.  Going for 8 more hours.
Or he could just stare at Bueso's

Or they just have IT people who don't have their heads up their asses like CI, who will let you buy the deal at the deal price long after the deal is over. Lol
I posted it on the last page of yesterday's banter but go check out the "About us" page of cigarpage.com.
Hmm, very interesting. So not a division of CI, but run by the guys who started CI? Morning Tony, Scott.
I just assumed it was yet another division.  Is the address an indicator?

Strictly platonic of course.

she booked and paid for the room so she'll make me work it off.
There's an image that'll be with me all day.
You too? I'm picturing a scene from a bukkake movie...you?

Well I have overbought myself again, fixed up the Igloo Retirement Humi and after the past weeks insane buying spree early arrivals it is already full to the top and I got at least 80 more cigars on the way still.  Sheesh, I need professional help!!!!!!!!
In so many ways!   ;)

Look at this:

Email from Famous, I put some stuff in my cart to try out codes and combinations and they sent this after a day

Dear Scott,

We're sorry, Famous has experienced website issues this week. We noticed you experienced difficultities while placing an order and we want to make it up to you...
Use promo code SORRY30 for
30% off your entire order.
:o ???
Did you try the code? Expires tomorrow, curious if it works for others
Have not tried but if anything interesting on the Mash I will sure give it a whirl.
Works on mash.  MF lance 10/56.
No minimum either from what I saw
Damn that's a NICE price on the MF lanceros, amIright?
Yes but about the same as I paid Sunday with Castsrule when they were $34 instead of $40.

Or he could just stare at Bueso's
We need one of you computer guys do figure out if the DOD is tracking that site yet.
Chip, a couple weeks ago, when they started the feature (Scorcher), I called them up and suggested they include a feature which would keep track of the previous deals because obviously no one with a life can be on 100% of the time watching the deals. It would at least help buyers like us to know what kind of deals are being offered (product & price).

Scramble the eggs with onions and give me a double order of the hash, please. Make the toast sourdough and give me a large orange juice.

Morning, muchachos. This will be a long, long day. Bad insomnia last night and I'm on about an hour and a half of sleep. Waaah.

heading out for a late breakfast. cornbeef hash, eggs over easy, hashbrowns, Italian toast, and coffee seems to be calling me.
Good mornin Dean
Another Good Morning Dean leave out the hash and cook the eggs and that sounds pretty damn good.
I disagree.  Love the runny yolk and the hash.
+1
Scramble the eggs with onions and give me a double order of the hash, please. Make the toast sourdough and give me a large orange juice.

Morning, muchachos. This will be a long, long day. Bad insomnia last night and I'm on about an hour and a half of sleep. Waaah.
Should be a productive one!  Morning Raz.
Unfortunately, productivity is not an option today. But I'll try to limit it and cheat wherever possible.

Morning, TD.

Right? I just assumed merely looking productive was his main job.
Y'know, everyone says that, and I keep waiting for it to be true. I obviously went to work for the wrong government agency.  I even come to work in the rain. On weekends.
I think that rain thing only works in Texas.  Most of the tech companies wouldn't still exist if the northwest played by the same rules.
