Join in this discussion and perhaps learn something about cigars along the way.  Be warned, you will catch hell if you post something everyone doesn't agree with.  And heaven forbid if you should make a grammatical error, you'll be berated with GFYs!  So don't proceed if you have thin skin.  Then light a cigar, pop open your favorite pumpkin beer and welcome aboard!

HC connie and coffee waiting for the warmth to hit.
Had to turn ours on for the first time this year on Saturday. One of my least favorite days of the year, the day the furnace comes back on.
shopping for a small ceramic heater and a blanket today, and maybe a woman to share some body heat at night.
You may have to go to more than 1 store for those 3 things.
should have taken one or more of the girls on the boat home with me yesterday.
It sounds like you had a fun boat ride Dean...  Maybe you should invest into one of those little black books and start getting some of those girls numbers.

Speaking of cold, we have two new projects up in Yankee land.  One north of Philly, one in NJ, and both installing in the dead of winter.  Might have to buy a coat.
For sure.  North Philly is 15-30 min. from me so I'll expect visits.
No kidding, that close? That job is about an hour north of Philly and approx. 45 min from Bethlehem.  How far are you from Brunswick, NJ?
20 minutes from New Brunswick Mark
Well shoot, I'm going to have to attend an actual Jersey herf before it's all said and done.
Sounds good, where in New Brunswick will you be working?
South Brunswick?  Is that a town?  Township?  New Jersey confuses me.

Or in October when it is 30!  Jeez you are turning into a puss mighty fast.

My wife is always dragging crap home from work when they have clearance sales.  Last year she bought an electric blanket for a single bed for $3.  I thought it was stupid since we don't have any single beds.  But last winter, I put it into the living room and used it on cold nights or for when I turn the thermostat down.

I used to work in a darkroom, but I'd never eat in there due to the chemicals.  But my water chiller would get down to around 38 degrees.  Back before they discouraged drinking at work, I'd bring in a couple cases of beer around Christmas, and load it up.  Everyone in the office seemed to stop by the darkroom.

One time, a guy got ahold of some IBC Root Beer labels.  IBC Root Beer came in brown bottles just like beer, and it was very common drink in our office.  They soaked the labels off of the beer bottles, and glued the IBC labels onto them.  Everyone was sitting at their desk getting drunk, and not one person caught on.

I guess everyone is out to lunch.
Eating lunch at the desk today myself.
I do that every day. I much prefer it.
Damn that was the dark ages!
IBC is pretty popular in south Louisiana too but Barqs is #1.

Like A&W myself.

We used to have some vinyl wraps, kinda like fatheads, but used condensation to cling. They would go around a can and mimic a soda label. They would have things like Caco-Cola. Worked great, unless someone was up close and observant enough to notice.

My personal favorite is A&W....  But I grew up drinking it fresh at the A&W Root Beer stands.  You know, when the car hop would bring frosty mugs of root beer on a tray that clipped onto your almost rolled down car window... We also had another place called Dog 'n Suds.  Their root beer wasn't as good as A&W's, but they made the best charcoal burger ya ever had..!

Of all places, Aces Hardware, I picked up a root beer that I've never heard of I believe was called, "Frosty Top."  The root beer was fairly good, but the vanilla flavor was really good.

Most exciting week of college football I ever remember.  Regardless of winners some rockum sockum neck and neck games down to the wire - I mean two games lost with the kickers missing not one but two field goals in the closing seconds!  And then both Ol Miss and Miss State both in the Top 5 - really that is history in itself.

That's what Mike and Built this weekend.  Needs hinges, door pull, clean up the glass and get any epoxy off of it, finish the base and how it sits on the carpet, and give it a final coat of paste wax.

It was giant rain drops, about 2 1/2" - 3"s ....  They were really loud.  Also rule #1, don't touch hot melted butter...!  Mmmmm, if you get burnt with hot butter, do you have to put more butter on it....?

The kids are not too hard to babysit.  They listen pretty good.  This year I don't have to pick the granddaughter up from school, thank goodness.  But I did get into a little trouble for inviting the (kinda nice looking) grandmother from next door into the house.  I'm really not sure what I'm supposed to do if she comes over again...?

Besides being bothered, I hate the fact that I'm paying for the phone service that they are conducting business on.  Sort of like paying to be bothered, I guess.  I use a pay as you go card on my cell phone, and when they call on that, it deducts from my minutes.  ugggh..

I was talking to the guy next door who is visiting his mother.  He said, "some one broke into his house and stole all of my medication."  Xanax, Oxycontin, and other pain killers.  He was in an accident and has nerve damage in his right arm, and back problems.  He said, "now I don't have any pain medication for the rest of the month."  I said, "It sounds like it could have been some one who must have known the medication your taking...?"  Maybe some one that has been in your house before, and most likely like to get high allot.  He looked at me and said, "Oh my god, it's my daughters friends father...!"  He lives 4 houses down from me, and you just described him. Yikes...!

I've already had 5 sales or political survey calls today since 2 pm. (last 2 hours.)
"Please hold while I finish touching myself"
Besides being bothered, I hate the fact that I'm paying for the phone service that they are conducting business on.  Sort of like paying to be bothered, I guess.  I use a pay as you go card on my cell phone, and when they call on that, it deducts from my minutes.  ugggh..
I solved that problem easy - got rid of the fucking home phone.
I've been thinking about that allot...!
Damn things serve no purpose anymore except for calls you don't want.  Saved $30 a month too.  Unlimited minutes on cell phones are available cheap.
I've been using the $100 T-Mobile  / one year / 1000 min. phone card for my cell phone and I avg. about 75 min. a month in voice and text. So I can go about a year on $100.  But your right about getting rid of the home phone.

fucking fitting on the shower broke. sonofabitch!!
what next?
Shit happens.  6 trips to the basement tool rack, 12 different tools, 2 trips to the hardware store to get a fucking shower leak.  Still worked but just leaked.  Oh, and now we're getting a thunderstorm - wind, rain, hail, thunder.  Was outside just 5 minutes ago.  Sheesh!
