No white whales in Texas.  Great night out.  I had a Room 101 Uncle Lee that was eh and a Senorial accompanied by draft Sculpin.  My friend Phil had a Headley Grange and Undercrown Viva with his Guinness.  You'll have to get updates from Bean and TXDave on their samplings.  As it was not a cigar lounge per se, scenery was much better than usual and with live music.

Morning Golf and LSU.  Happy day off LSU, SIL dropping by to bring you a happy ending?
No SIL today, she had to take her nephew grocery shopping today.
Guess you can just mow grass. :(
Thats the story of my life I am afraid.
Mine too my friend!
Sounds like you guys need to relocate to FL and find a bikerlady  ;)
there are plenty to go around here.
Why does that just sound wrong......?
Because it is, in every way...morning Dave.

The boys won the League Championship last night 2-1, lots of good pitching and defense
Congrats!  2-1.....do you have any nails left?
No. The other team loaded the bases in each of the last 2 innings and only got 1 run out of it. Tying and go-ahead runs on 2nd and 3rd base when the game ended on a lineout
Sounds like a helluva finish. If they make a movie about it, we'll see if we can get Nate to play the umpire or something.
He'll have to lose 20 lbs. first.
Judging from CFest, 20 may not cut it. He has to fit into a chest protector
I was trying to be kind.

And here I was trying to cover his face up.

Good day to you Mr. Mayor.
No white whale sitings?  No pics from last night?  Not even a lineup of cigars that were smoked?
No white whales in Texas.  Great night out.  I had a Room 101 Uncle Lee that was eh and a Senorial accompanied by draft Sculpin.  My friend Phil had a Headley Grange and Undercrown Viva with his Guinness.  You'll have to get updates from Bean and TXDave on their samplings.  As it was not a cigar lounge per se, scenery was much better than usual and with live music.
It was a great place for Downtown Austin with  hotties scattered around too.  Reuben Sandwiches from the Irish Pub next door for dinner.  Let's see I started with a CyB then on to a Tat Black and finished with a MF Corona.  Couple of Sculpins and a couple of Shiners, limited consumption due to an hour drive home through 3 small cop shop towns.

Wish I could get my wife obsessed with Tiny Houses, right now she is defining downsizing to a "Tiny House" as something around 2200-2500 sq feet with a large yard.  She is scared to even mention the word "Pool".

We had tables full of ladies on each side of us and not a stinkeye to be found.  When the first group was sitting down, Phil even said to them that we were smoking cigars and hopefully that would not bother them.  They said no problem and apparently just wanted the opportunity to sit next to the four male specimens.

Oh, I certainly think it would at least apply to Chip's "thoughts and wishes".

We had tables full of ladies on each side of us and not a stinkeye to be found.  When the first group was sitting down, Phil even said to them that we were smoking cigars and hopefully that would not bother them.  They said no problem and apparently just wanted the opportunity to sit next to the four male specimens.
That's pretty solid - especially considering the looks of you guys...were they already sauced up too? ;)

Good mornin gents!
Morning CG!    If sauced up gets you where you wish to be then sauced up it is!
Haha, I'm with ya there!  Good mornin Tex

  • Salad?  Blah!

  • Lasagna? Not generally a fan of Italian food from a church basement.

  • Salmon?  Much better fish in the sea.

  • Veggie Lasagna?  Really?  Are we even going to address this one?

Therefore, even Chipotle sounds like a better alternative today.  That's my opinion.  And thanks for the GFY.
It is a Catholic Church thus Eyetalian approved and lunch is not in the basement, they feed the homeless down there.  As to the desserts today - they suck.  I do luv lasagna though but not necessarily the veggie variety.
As to Chipotle - cant think of anything that sounds worse than that.

Understood.  At risk of confirming for all my banter brothers what an asshole I am...

I'm first generation Italian.  Most Italian-Americans in the NYC area aren't "real" Italians according to me.  They're the ones that pronounce ricotta as "rah-gawt" instead of "ree-co-ta".  Besides, a "real" Italian knows that lasagna shouldn't have ricotta in it at all.

One last editorial note:  I can't stand being around "real" Italians, the kind residing in Italy.  That includes the members of my family.  The week I spent there in the beginning of June couldn't end quickly enough.

Chipotle suggestion has earned you a personal message - GFY
  • Salad?  Blah!

Cyclospora outbreak linked to imported cilantro

Imported fresh cilantro from the state of Puebla, Mexico has been linked to outbreaks of cyclosporiasis in the United States, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), has issued a seasonal ban on the product in an effort to prevent further illness.

“FDA believes the source of C. Cayetanensis contamination is likely attributable to a broader source of contamination. Sources of contamination of growing areas, irrigation of fields with water contaminated with sewage, cleaning or cooling produce with contaminated water, and/or poor hygenic practices of workers that harvest and process the produce, and lack of adequate cleaning and sanitizing of equipment that comes in contact with the produce.”

Feces and toilet paper were observed in the growing fields by the investigators. Some farms had no bathroom facilities at all for workers, and those that did had no soap for handwashing, no toilet paper or paper towels. Investigators also found a holding tank at one of the facilities, with water used for workers to wash their hands, to be contaminated with the cyclospora parasite.

Good thing the Warden grows all our cilantro.
You certain she doesn't shit in the herb garden?  Just sayin'.
It's in the front yard and my wife has social anxiety disorder. So yeah, I'm reasonably sure.

Slow arsenic poisoning would be more her style.
Does that mean she can't shit in herb gardens, or she can't shit in herb gardens in front of people?
Or shit's inside and carries it out in the watering can...

Morning, Tex. Haven't read back to get news on the TexHerf yet. I presume it was a good time?
I start from page 1 and work my way forward, recaps more ladies than a cigar lounge cause it wasn't!
they like the ones in the black dresses, except the one in the beige dress caught one guys eye.  The Room 101 cigar that some started with was meh, some women folk mow their lawn, others sculpt, and some go for the overgrown natural look.
hello boys. be with in in a page or two.

The week I spent there in the beginning of June couldn't end quickly enough.
lasagna has "ree-co-ta", lasagna scuite does not, then again there is pasta al forno....

On that very topic I just received the 3rd very realistic appearing phishing email from "paypal" in the last week.  Forwarded them to paypal and the first two were verified as fake and they told me a couple of things to watch for.  One thing being they always put your name on the body of the email, none of these 3 had that.

Here is the complete paypal what to look for list (some are rather obvious)

Thank you for being a proactive contributor by reporting
suspicious-looking emails to PayPal's Abuse Department. Our security
team is working to identify if the email you forwarded to us is a
malicious email.
Paypal Will Always:
- Address our customers by their first and last name or business name of
their PayPal account
Paypal Will Never:
- Send an email to: "Undisclosed Recipients" or more than one email
address
- Ask you to download a form or file to resolve an issue
- Ask in an email to verify an account using Personal Information such
as Name, Date of Birth, Driver's License, or Address
- Ask in an email to verify an account using Bank Account Information
such as Bank Name, Routing Number, or Bank Account PIN Number
- Ask in an email to verify an account using Credit Card Information
such as Credit Card Number or Type, Expiration Date, ATM PIN Number, or
CVV2 Security Code
- Ask for your full credit card number without displaying the type of
card and the last two digits
- Ask you for your full bank account number without displaying your bank
name, type of account (Checking/Savings) and the last two digits
- Ask you for your security question answers without displaying each

/// When I got up this morning, it was 80F with 79% RH ... should have opened up all my humidors for a bit.
Was hoping to have a JdN 1970 Antano with my coffee, outdoors, but then suddenly deep gray clouds of strange shapes and sizes rolled in casting darkness over the DC area.  A strong ragged lightning bolt, like a bold pillar of light, flashed from the leading edge of the front to the earth.  A woman in front of the supermarket (dressed in store uniform obviously on her break), danced around waving her arms and her Afro bouncing about, shouting, "Show them your power!  Show them your power, Lord!"  The Doors began sounding in my head, "This is the end ... this is the end, my friend ..."  Mighty strange moment, then cars scampered, rushing down the road to get home or back to the office before the deluge hit ... ooop ... too late.  Made it home, severe thunderstorm warning for the area ... the way those clouds looked, I'm surprised that there wasn't a tornado hiding in them.

Mother Phucker - got a must show up damn meeting at 3:00 this afternoon, hopefully less than 15 minutes.
Is that with the little server in the black dress and her friends?
No, it is with the #2 Bitch in this office.
Hmmm, a must-attend meeting at your clock-out time with the #2 bitch, which probably means something the #1 bitch doesn't want to handle.  Should be interesting.

98 Hot-Azz Degrees here right now and feels like 101
/// When I got up this morning, it was 80F with 79% RH ... should have opened up all my humidors for a bit.
So, exactly how much whiskey did you add to that coffee?  :P  Hi Sly!

Show them your power, Lord!"  The Doors began sounding in my head, "This is the end ... this is the end, my friend ..."  Mighty strange moment, then cars scampered, rushing down the road to get home or back to the office before the deluge hit ... ooop ... too late.  Made it home, severe thunderstorm warning for the area ... the way those clouds looked, I'm surprised that there wasn't a tornado hiding in them.
stay away from the shrooms my friend.

So, exactly how much whiskey did you add to that coffee?    Hi Sly!
The Rapture!
I think the Warning is coming first, then the Chastisement, then the Rapture ... I think I got it right, but don't quote me on that ...

That depends on whether you're a pre-tribulationist, a mid-tribulationist, or a post-tribulationist.

Then you have to get into the differences between the Tribulation and the Great Tribulation, which starts 3.5 years in.

We won't go into premillennialism, postmillennialism, and amillennialism.

I am packing my chit up so soon as that hopefully 10 minute meeting is over I can get my azz out of here until Monday.   Gong home to mix a drink get in the pool and light a seagar.
Sounds like a good plan to me!
Indeed.  Our pool water is 94 deg (maybe higher now), so tough to feel refreshed.  Should mount a soap dish.
Mine has never been above 88 in 5 years and it is 87 now which is about perfect for me.

Jayzus, it's crass in here today.
Today?
Bret's a musician and has been "exposed" to the kinds of things that make you lose short term memory.  Not entirely his fault.
If half what I remember really happened, I do NOT want to know what I can't remember.
You driving the van home tonight?
No. Riding in it.
It's gotta be close to quitting time, no?
Past. We're in traffic on the freeway.
Ahhh, that 'splains it.  They won't let you light up in there?
Not a chance.
I bet if it were a spliff there'd be no objections.  Friggin' commies!

The driver would object unless we let him join in, and that just opens an ugly can of worms.

Walked through the doors myself a few minutes ago.  Need to start thinking about what's for dinner.

LMAO!  I actually have a huge pot of sauce made and some lasagna noodles.  So I could do that.  :)
But I'm hoping to eat sooner than that and am not interested in turning on the oven in this heat.  Firing up the grill instead.

Won't the lasagna noodles fall through the grating onto the burner?  Oh, and good evening Sir Antnee, Lord of Lasagna!

Hahaha, lasagna on the grill sounds like a fine idea too.  I think I'm gonna go with burgers and sausage links instead.  Leftovers from Sunday's barbecue.  I better get to grillin'.

mmmmm.... Grilled burger and sausage lasagna.  Cook the noodles, wrap it around the sausage and burgers, put in pan on stove, pour the sauce over them and cook for 30 minutes.  Serve with a side of cucumber hash and a Colt 45.
