Doctor's Stories
-------------------------

A man comes into the ER and yells, "My wife's going to have her baby in
the cab!" I grabbed my stuff, rushed out to the cab, lifted the lady's
dress, and began to take off her underwear. Suddenly I noticed that there
were several cabs, and I was in the wrong one.
-Dr. Mark MacDonald, San Antonio, TX

At the beginning of my shift I placed a stethoscope on an elderly and
slightly deaf female patient's anterior chest wall. Big breaths," I
instructed. Yes, they used to be," remorsefully replied the patient.
--Dr. Richard Byrnes, Seattle, WA

One day I had to be the bearer of bad news when I told a wife that her
husband had died of a massive myocardial infarct. Not more than five
minutes later, I heard her reporting to the rest of the family that he
had died of a "massive internal fart."
--Dr. Susan Steinberg, Manitoba, Canada

I was performing a complete physical, including the visual acuity test. I
placed the patient twenty feet from the chart and began, "Cover your
right eye with your hand." He read the 20/20 line perfectly. Now your
left." Again, a flawless read. Now both," I requested. There was silence.
He couldn't even read the large E on the top line. I turned and discovered
that he had done exactly what I had asked; he was standing there with
both his eyes covered. I was laughing too hard to finish the exam.
--Dr. Matthew Theodropolous, Worcester, MA

During a patient's two week follow-up appointment with his cardiologist,
he informed me, his doctor, that he was having trouble with one of his
medications. Which one?" I asked. The patch. The nurse told me to put on
a new one every six hours and now I'm running out of places to put it!" I
had him quickly undress and discovered what I hoped I wouldn't see. Yes,
the man had over fifty patches on his body! Now the instructions include
removal of the old patch before applying a new one.
--Dr. Rebecca St. Clair, Norfolk, VA

While acquainting myself with a new elderly patient, I asked, "How long
have you been bed-ridden?" After a look of complete confusion she answered ..
Why, not for about twenty years -- when my husband was alive."
--Dr. Steven Swanson, Corvallis, OR

I was caring for a woman from Kentucky and asked, So, how's your
breakfast this morning?" It's very good, except for the Kentucky Jelly. I
can't seem to get used to the taste," the patient replied. I then asked
to see the jelly and the woman produced a foil packet labeled "KY Jelly."
--Dr. Leonard Kransdorf, Detroit, MI

And Finally . . . .
A new, young MD doing his residency in OB was quite embarrassed
performing female pelvic exams. To cover his embarrassment he had
unconsciously formed a habit of whistling softly. The middle aged lady
upon whom he was performing this exam suddenly burst out laughing and
further embarrassed him. He looked up from his work and sheepishly said,
"I'm sorry. Was I tickling you?" She replied, "No doctor, but the song
you were whistling was 'I wish I was an Oscar Meyer Wiener"
--won't admit his name

What's goin' on up in this piece? Managed to smoke one cigar this weekend, the weather's just not quite there yet but I enjoyed an Espinosa robusto
Morning, Scott. What's the good word?
Listen to this crap, I saw Andy on Saturday and he said he was checking out the banter last week but didn't post because all we were doing was busting each other's balls...Duh!!!
And he was afraid we'd start busting his ovaries? Sheesh!
He also put the idea out there of us coming up on Thursday instead of Friday morning, being we're off Friday anyway. I couldn't really say he wasn't making some sense just not sure I can pull that off
The Thursday night AJ event is something I would never miss. Haha.
The only issue (other than getting it passed the wife) is that the one event I wanted to get to was the Tat event at Hamburg Friday morning but not sure that's a deal breaker
Shouldn't be a problem, the Hamburg store is only an hour from Split Rock. I'd be more worried about getting permission from your wife.  8)
Could you put a good word in for me on Facebook?
Of course..... we all Facebook with your wife....

Morning, Mr. Mayor. Doc says I'm close.  Says I can ride the motorcycle and use my discretion as to when to stop physical therapy.  As if I ever had any discretion.

Gonna give therapy a couple of more weeks, though.  I've made major progress in range of motion past two weeks, and walking hurts less and less each day.  When progress seems to taper off, I'll end it and call it good.

Even better!  Hosting sucks.  My nephew stayed with me for the last two weeks and he was more helpful than trouble but I'm happy to have the house to myself again.  Now if I could only get my wife to leave too.  ;)
All it takes is money.  More than you have, but still...

I really really really love Mondays, especially when kayaking at 5:30am gets cancelled due to rain and you get a bed visit at 6:30am by your kayaking partner on her birthday.
In her birthday suit, no doubt.  You're killing me, man.
Killing all of us.  I want to be just like Dean when I grow up.
What up, Razman?  Are you all healed up?
Morning, Mr. Mayor. Doc says I'm close.  Says I can ride the motorcycle and use my discretion as to when to stop physical therapy.  As if I ever had any discretion.

Gonna give therapy a couple of more weeks, though.  I've made major progress in range of motion past two weeks, and walking hurts less and less each day.  When progress seems to taper off, I'll end it and call it good.
Most guys that ride get injured like that on their bikes, Raz.  No, not you.  You fall in a hole and have no bragging rights!

For those, who were following the mini saga from yesterday morning,
Warden returned first, lady friend with Irish Soda Bread arrived a half
hour later. Soda bread below, for scale, that's an 8 ounce can off to the left.

Seriously.  The minute I said "Harley" the doc said, "Did you injure yourself on the bike?"  No, doc, you asked me that back in November. Had to tell the whole story again.  At least he got a good laugh out of it.  Must be easy to laugh with $16K of my money.

It's still active, it was an email special but I deleted it. Maybe Tony still has it
If it's an e-mail special, I should still have it.  Unless you guys get better e-mails than I do.
Mine was from yesterday and it's a 48 hour sale
Yup, I found it.  Flip, you need me to send it?
Nope, I'm done buying till July, Operation Smoke Down going on now.

I don't think so.  Maybe it was yesterday only?  I'll check and get back to you.

I didn't buy but I recognized it was a good deal.  The humis are full for the time being.
Hmm...is there a free shipping code for the Celeb, or no?

Don't have a current one, but I think they usually have a $50 min purchase on that cpn now, So I usually end up using the $10 off @ $50... MCPNSAV10

Or add a mash FS item as Scott suggested and save even more!

Well for lunch from the buffet dowstairs:
Sirloin steak, Roasted Chicken, wild rice and steamed veggies.
I left the Salmon and the cheese ravioli alone.

Hey, Shaun. Still didn't get that cigar rest...  ;)
Damn USPS, not sure what's with those guys...  ;)
Mine arrived just fine, weird

You finally wore him down, huh.
I can see how that phrase would fit the situation
I'll make no excuses nor offer any apologies for what I've done  :D
What's done is done, in the end, you got cigars and a woody - success!

OK, somebody screwed up big time, not sirloin steak,
from the the taste, look and tenderness, it's hanger steak. So my one
price dish at $7.95 had about $15 to $20 worth of steak in it, plus almost
half a chicken.  Gurkha like discounts!

Morning Steve, what continent are you on this morning?

Hmm, feel like I'm walking into something here... North America.
Ha! Just that you said "good afternoon" in the morning

Seems odd to me to say morning when it's almost noon, and I have been up since 5 am... but I get what you're saying.
It's only 8:53 here.  Does that help?

NO!  ;)

Did you get to your gun cleaning chores this weekend?
I did, after putting another 150 rounds downrange.  Also made gig money, so besides some cigars I'm ordering 1000 bullets today which will be distributed among my compadres who've volunteered to load rounds for me.  It would seem that the cigars-and-booze-to-cartridges ratio is quite favorable, compared to buying boxes of ammunition.

So, you are wanting to shoot re-loads? Has Tx said anything to you about changing that barrel to standard bore? If not, I'd recommend it. fwiw anyway.

Haven't talked to Tex about it, but we're doing jacketed bullets, so the rifling shouldn't be a problem - at least that's what I'm told.  That, and stick to moderate loads.

SONOFABITCH tv and internet is expensive. Comcast wants $59.99 a month. I ordered it anyway. tax/installation/modem rental pushes it to $79.95 the first month, then drops $10.

I posted this yesterday but since it was such a low banter day, I'll re-post:

http://www.famous-smoke.com/5+styles+of+601+cigars/item+28927

$23.95
2 X 601 Red Label Habano Robusto (5 x 50)
2 X 601 Green Label Oscuro Tronco (5 x 52)
2 X 601 Blue Label Robusto (5 1/4 x 52)
2 X 601 La Bomba Napalm (5 x 52)
2 X 601 Steel Rod (5 x 54)   -  (It appears these are a Famous exclusive but I think it's gotten some decent reviews)
Shows me 34.99.  Is there a super-secret password or something?
I get the same, No Travelling Dave,
just double checking the pricing... not buying.
At $23.95 I'd be buying.  But at $34.99, I'm not motivated.
What's all this talk about cigars?
Well I did post a picture of my Irish Soda Bread delivery from yesterday,
and rags was chatting bout 1000 rounds of ammo and smooth bore vs rifled barrel.
And it's Raz, not rags, Florp.
thanks for the correction.

Honestly, pricing on all this media sh!t is outta hand, but this makes it a little more manageable. If I could get a decent antenna signal where I'm at, I'd probably have that too.

Well, it definitely wasn't Jerry Rice, since all the stickum he didn't did use wouldn't let him let go of the stuff.

Nah, I'll vouch for Michael Irvin.  I once sat with friends at a table adjacent to his at the Cabaret Royale in Dallas.  It's a ritzy strip club, and the man was dropping serious green on the girls.  He left with three of them.  He drugs his victims with cash, and they don't seem to complain.

It was #1 for a couple of weeks in late 1950.
