I don't remember any particular interaction with her, but the wife remembers playing with her as a baby at a family do some years ago. She had Ewing Sarcoma, and was only 26. She battled it for a while, and was in the clear as recently as a few months ago. But they recently discovered it had come back, and with a terrible vengeance. That time, they told her it was terminal and gave her only a few weeks to live, which ended up being spot on. She leaves behind parents, grandparents, two sisters and a fiance, among many others. That's terrible. I'm so sorry to read this. My condolences to you and your family. Did she live nearby? Are you planning to attend services? Thanks. Terrible for parents and grandparents have to bury their child/grandchild. It's just not right. They're having a celebration of life next month and yes, they live close enough that I'll probably be in attendance.

More often than not, I attend open casket wakes and I just don't get it. A celebration of life with photos and videos scattered around the venue, is a much better way to commemorate the loved ones. In my humble opinion, of course.
