It's officially time for beerbanter.com:

I had Dominion Abbey Ale which was really fruity and good:
http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/402/114108/

and

Dogfish Head Sixty-One which was also very tasty:

We're living in a great beer age.  Just wish I had an opportunity to smoke too.  Planning a J. Fuego 777 connie for after work today.

Had mostly wine and whiskey over the weekend but I did have a new beer - Stone Imperial Mutt Brown Ale.  Really good, roasty chocolate flavors.  Drove eight hours to taste it but whatever.  I was hoping to try something from the northern part of the state but nothing struck me.

That sounds pretty good.  Wonder if I could find it out here?  My next beer would have been a Stone IPA, which I have a bunch of in the fridge...

... but my head started aching and I knew I wouldn't enjoy it as much as I should.  There's always this evening.   ;)

If Stone is generally available out there I'd imagine you'd be able to find it somewhere.  It's part of their "spotlight" series.  http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/147/167623/

I really liked it.  Never sure what makes something a "brown ale" vs a porter vs stout vs whatever, but it was definitely heavier bodied, which I like.  In a beer.

Yes, lots of great beers around!

My weekend included:

Shiner - Wild Hare Pale Ale
Ballast Point - Sculpin IPA
Holy City - Pluff Mud  Porter
Sierra Nevada - Beer Camp
Oskar Blues - Old Chub  Scottish Ale
Sweetwater Brewing - Sweetwater 420  Extra Pale Ale

Also they just opened a Total Wine here on Friday, should boost competition in the beverage market.

Nice.  I still have a few of those Beer Camps in the fridge too.  Really like those.  Also forgot to mention I started the weekend with a Shiner Bock on Friday when I bought a round for a colleague's retirement.  Not my favorite but definitely a drinkable beer.

Morning, all.  Happy Tuesday... I think.  Odd conversation this morning...
Morning Joe, stopped for a VaS on tap on Saturday. I figure it'll be gone soon but also tried Kane Brewing Morning Bell, a 9.2% coffee porter. This beer had the best quality coffee flavors I've had, really good and brewed in NJ

I like Shiner Bock quite well myself, liked it long before I moved to TX!  Funny, trying to have a little of TX at my son's rehearsal dinner so had some Shiner Bock and the bartenders said  it was the first thing we ran out of.

New Total Wine store has it on the Grand Opening Special for $9.99/12 Pak, got to pick a couple up.

Warden declared this weekend that Sculpin is her favorite beer.  Glad it is cheap!

I did have a Sculpin this week, too.  There was a bar/restaurant at the ice arena where my nephew plays hockey.  So that was nice.  Also, a large grocery chain bought out another grocery chain locally, so they had all sorts of "grand opening" sales... got some six packs of Sculpin and Grapefruit Sculpin for $10.99.  Unfortunately, now that the opening sale is over, prices are all 25% higher on everything in the store than they were a week ago.

Just signed and sent in a job offer acceptance with the gov't. I was informed that they work a 4/10 schedule. 10 hours, four days a week. Full day each week of liquor shopping!
