Morning, all. Happy Tuesday.
Morning, Joe. What's on the drink menu for the day?
Morning, Steve. Probably should ease up on the day drinking today, got a fairly lengthy paper to write this week. BUT... got a 2014 Laphroaig Cairdeas and a Glenvlivet Nadurra Cask Strength (finished in Oloroso sherry casks) arriving today, might have to try a little of each.
Hmm...I thought the Nadurra was thin and uninteresting. Will be interested to hear your thoughts.
This particular version or the regular 16 year? Either way, it sounded interesting. I was told that if I like Aberlour A'bunadh, I'd probably like it, and I do like that Aberlour, so...
Worst case, it's 120 proof and will get me drunk, and I'll move along to the next bottle.
I didn't realize there were two different Nadurras. I thought Nadurra 16 was cask strength as well. That's how it's advertised, in any case.
I think it is, but it's a much lower proof... 106ish, I think. Never had that one, myself.
This is the one I got: http://www.acespirits.com/glenlivet-nadurra-cask-strength-olorosso-sherry-single-malt-scotch.html
Yeah, I looked it up on Glenlivet's site. There are two, and that one is referred to as Nadurra Oloroso. Both are cask strength, with the Oloroso having a higher ABV (60.7%) than the Nadurra (54.3%) .
Okay, now I'm more edumacated.
Given my disappointment with the Nadurra, I won't be in a hurry to try the Oloroso...unless you
really think it's the bee's whiskers or whatever.
