good morning Chip and Dave. had the windows open and heat off last night, nice storm passed through. 61 degrees but that is our high, going into the mid 50's. looking at 2 mobile homes at 10am. can't wait to find something a bit more permanent and more room.
Good morning Dean and good luck with the house hunting.
you don't need luck hunting houses, they pretty much are stationary and easy to sneak up on! Unless of course they are a single wide in a trailer park. then they might have wheels.  good morning boys.

Morning RAZ
Morning, Tex. A friend of mine tried to tempt me last night with some firearms he's selling. The Glock 29 and Sig 227 have my attention. The Springfield SOCOM would too, except I don't have the necessary $3K.
If just  the 3 of those are used and $3k then no reason to be too  tempted.   The G-29 is a bear to handle, lot of horsepower to ride with a little saddle, if you have never popped off a 10mm it is a big blast.  I got a G-20 and would not want anything smaller with a 10mm unless using light ammo but that pretty much defeats the entire purpose.  G29 also is a fat gun for small hands unless it is an SF version.  SOCOM is a cool piece but unless it is pretty tricked out only a $1500-1600 gun new in the box.    Also for real use there is lots better stuff, FN 308 being one of them at around $1200 new.  Some new AR platform 308's too but you do like the "old school" and socom definitely fills that void nicely.   P227 is very nice and comes in two versions tacops and regular.  Regular is a $850 gun new in the box tacops about a grand or a little less.  Downside they are only 10 rounds I think and why buy a modern 10 rd gun when nice options are available with way more.......  Again FN - FNX 45 will shoot circles around that P-27 at around $600 or $1050 for the tactical model but heavier and bigger.  There that is my 2 cents worth and nothing more, it is all about what feels good to you as none of them are bad guns whatsoever.
The SOCOM is a SOCOM II, pretty tricked out, Eotech sight, bipod, bunch of mags, etc.  But yeah, his ask is too high - he's expecting a counteroffer.  The 227 is cool, but I've already got a .45, and would prefer a .40.  The 10mm is a notion I keep entertaining for a backpacking gun, but still think I'd be better served with .44 Mag for that.  Think I'll stick with the plan for now.  Glock 23 for next purchase.

Back from dropping the kids at the bus and going to Starbucks, can't say I like the mood in this place!
I like the coffee but hate the fuk'n places myself.  Patrons are a bit too metro for me, especially around here.  And lately the employees are a bit to metro for me too.
I know exactly what you mean, the place by me is pretty tame in that regard though. I like bold coffee, always get dark roast with a shot of espresso in it, aka "red eye"
I stop at that one all the time but it pisses me off that you can't get a dark roast after 4:PM.  A couple of times they were nice enough to offer me a pour-over.  Usually they say, "Sorry, GFY".
Damn, imagine what they would tell you on Tuesdays!   :D
Well now that I know the pour-over is an option, I ask for it.  But prior to that knowledge nugget, they weren't offering anything up.  It's Pikes or nothing.  Sheesh.  Commies.
Either way they are commies at starbucks from the top down.
Probably my single biggest starbucks issue is actually that crap they pawn off as "holiday blends" at thanksgiving and Christmas, it is garbage coffee as a general rule.  Damn commie operation by my office was still selling the crap in mid February.  And even worse is the fact they substitute it for the dark roast not the other choices.
Starbucks sucks.   They only good thing about them is they're everywhere and better than a convenience store.  A cup of Seattle's Best from McDonald's will taste better.  Coffee D'Arte is better source material.

I know, I know, I live in Starbucks country.  It still sucks.  They just happened to be the first to own the "luxury coffee" market so they could serve up over-roasted shit and tell everyone that's how coffee should taste.  T'aint so.  Coffee can be strong without tasting like battery acid.

Full Size 10mm glock loaded up with the newer Buffalo Bore Hard Cast Bullets is a major bone crusher and got 15 of them in it.  Not that I am not a .44 mag fan though!  Smith 460 might be the actual cats meow it shoots al sorts of bullets.

got a slightly dripping faucet, outside on the side of the house, took down the ceiling in the tool room last night to get at the shutoff valve, but it wasn't there anymore, I think it's in the ceiling of a closet, by the hair sink we put in for the wife, when we redid the basement.  Will have to stop by the legion and confer with my contractor over some drinks tonight.  that is the replacement for the whole house water main shutoff.
