At Stogies on Grand having a EPC connie reserva.
Watch for tar.
Smoke slower and/or cut a bigger hole - or so they say.
Or properly ferment the tobacco.
Not sure if it's the fermenting or adding of chemicals - I've never had a cuban tar up on me while plenty of NCs have across many brands.
Generally tar means the tobacco was not cured properly.
It can, but I think there are usually other factors to blame.

Thinking about swapping the platinum (calling it silver) and gold.
What's after gold then?

Coincidently, smoking a LGC Serie R and getting some tar.  Use the Xikar 11 mm punch which leaves a recess and the tar is accumulating on the exposed filler in the recess which is at least 1/4 inch below the head.

Hiya Mike.  I've had that happen to me with punch more than any other cut.  When it does occur, I usually take a guillotine to it and the problem goes away.  By the way, I have absolutely had that happen to me with a Cuban cigar.

I get the feeling that tar occurs when the tobacco was not cured long enough.  Gots to ferment the tar and nicotine out of the tobacco.  Oh, good afternoon Tony.

I agree.  Tar and/or ammonia suggests something was rushed.

I think it's happened to me once with a guillotine, 99% of the time it's with a punch tho.

Agreed - maybe what I Was getting at was more of the chemicals that are used on NCs. Like Drew Estate uses a 'fermenting juice' they have some name for that they spray the leaves with, essentially a fermenting liquid and a dye.
