Stopping by the bakery?
Any holiday that begins or ends with a stop at the bakery is a good one in my book.
And what holiday would this be?
St. Joseph's Day today.
Keep up Bean!
And that means eat baked goods? Wasn't he a carpenter? Sheesh.
Maybe he just liked baked goods....and fava beans....and lemons.
OK, had to research this a bit. Buried in the St Joseph Day traditions in Italy is "In some communities it is traditional to wear red clothing and eat a Neapolitan pastry known as a zeppola (created in 1840 by Don Pasquale Pinatauro in Napoli) on Saint Joseph's Day.". Zeppola, the description of which sounds like a fancy donut. Which closes the Tony loop.
