OK, had to research this a bit.  Buried in the St Joseph Day traditions in Italy is "In some communities it is traditional to wear red clothing and eat a Neapolitan pastry known as a zeppola (created in 1840 by Don Pasquale Pinatauro in Napoli) on Saint Joseph's Day.".  Zeppola, the description of which sounds like a fancy donut.  Which closes the Tony loop.

Hahaha. Precisely. But it's a doughnut filled with cannoli cream.

My dad was a pastry chef and I hated these as a kid. Now that I have to pay $4 each for one of them, I can't seem to get enough.

I won't argue that it doesn't look good but it's no zeppola. Just sayin'.
