got a buddy coming over that thinks he can fix my old free dryer, and he thinks my vent through the roof is plugged.
Who vents a dryer through the roof?
Not unusual when the laundry room is centrally located in the home.
Just think that's great for assuring lint buildup and eventual fire.
Don't disagree. A roof discharge will likely be ignored vs one on an outside wall. Plus I wonder about that warm moist air discharged onto the roof during the winter. Heater vent stacks are tall enough to keep it way from the roof, but not so the dryer vents. Freeze, thaw, freeze, thaw, etc.
