Just sat through an hour seminar on retirement planning and the city's
Deferred Compensation Plans (457, 401K and IRA's). Sheesh so many off topic
questions, guy had to run through last 10 PowerPoint slides in 3 minutes. Whoever
said there is no such thing as a stupid question, needed to be in that room.
Sounds like in just an hour, you got about 3 days closer to death.
That certainly is today's theme.
amazing how many people, don't want to put money away tax free for retirement. they say
" I would rather have a Roth account, then I won't have to pay taxes when i take it out!"
#1 do you plan to be making more money at age 70 then you are now?
#2 You would rather pay taxes now, then saving money now pre tax?
#3 Saving $10K annually post tax cost 3-4K now in taxes and lowers take home by $13K versus
$10K pretax with a 7k hit to take home pay.
