We normally never do this, but we planted some tomato plants this year. One of them grew about 3 foot tall, and turned brown and died over night. My wife thinks a suspicious looking caterpillar did it. We have another plant that's doing great. It's about 4 foot tall, and does not have one tomato on it. Very healthy, lots of blooms, but not one tomato...? We have a cherry tomato plant that is producing round tomatoes and longing Italian looking tomatoes (can't figure that one out.) My wife is afraid the tomatoes will fall off the vines, so she's picking them while they are still green (can't figure that one out either...?) My wife is complaining that our water bill has gone up... She has a 5 gal. bucket that she fills twice to water the tomatoes. I said, "let's see, 10 to 5 gals. of water x 30 days, are you using about 300 to 450 gal. more...?" She responds, "Yes, why is that...?" Me, "hell I don't know.." ugh...!
