Talk about trying to walk a fine line, sounds like AJ (and others) are testing the FDA limits.  Whoever heard of declining comment on a new release that has been shipped?  What is the FDA definition of "released"?

It would appear there is a follow-up to A.J. Fernández Cigars’ most popular release.

Free World is the new line, seemingly a follow-up to the company’s highly successful New World.

According to the company’s website, it will be released in four sizes: Robusto (5 1/2 x 50), Toro (6 1/2 x 50), Toro Grande (6 1/2 x 56) and Robusto Gordo (6 x 58).

Only one retailer has been verified as taking delivery of the cigars which were shipped prior to the August 8 deadline.  The new @ajfcigars have landed @governorscigars!   It seems several other new introductions were "introduced" the same way.

Like many companies, A.J. Fernández released a variety of new products to select retailers prior to Aug. 8. These cigars were shipped prior to that date as it is a deadline set by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.

Any new cigar introduced after Aug. 8 would be subject to pre-market approval by FDA, meaning the company would not be able to sell that cigar until after it was granted approval by FDA.

The company has declined to comment on these releases at this time.

It is expected that A.J. Fernández will more formally launch these lines at a later date.

Samsung recalls Galaxy Note 7 after battery explosions

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) -- Samsung Electronics recalled all of its Galaxy Note 7 smartphones on Friday after finding batteries of some of the flagship gadgets exploded or caught fire.

Samsung's Note 7s are being pulled from shelves in 10 countries, including South Korea and the United States, just two weeks after the product's launch. Customers who already bought Note 7s will be able to swap them for new smartphones in about two weeks, said Koh Dong-jin, president of Samsung's mobile business.

Samsung said it had confirmed 35 instances of Note 7s catching fire or exploding. There have been no reports of injuries related to the problem.

Today is Friday, Sept. 2, the 246th day of 2016. There are 120 days left in the year.

Today's Highlight in History:

On Sept. 2, 1945, Japan formally surrendered in ceremonies aboard the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay, ending World War II.

On this date:

In 1666, the Great Fire of London broke out.

In 1789, the United States Treasury Department was established.

In 1864, during the Civil War, Union Gen. William T. Sherman's forces occupied Atlanta.

In 1901, Vice President Theodore Roosevelt offered the advice, "Speak softly and carry a big stick" in a speech at the Minnesota State Fair.

In 1924, the Rudolf Friml operetta "Rose Marie" opened on Broadway.

In 1935, a Labor Day hurricane slammed into the Florida Keys, claiming more than 400 lives.

In 1945, Ho Chi Minh declared Vietnam an independent republic. (Ho died on this date in 1969.)

In 1963, Alabama Gov. George C. Wallace prevented the integration of Tuskegee High School by encircling the building with state troopers. "The CBS Evening News" with Walter Cronkite was lengthened from 15 to 30 minutes, becoming network television's first half-hour nightly newscast.

In 1969, in what some regard as the birth of the Internet, two connected computers at the University of California, Los Angeles, passed test data through a 15-foot cable.

In 1972, Dave Wottle of the United States won the men's 800-meter race at the Munich Summer Olympics.

In 1986, a judge in Los Angeles sentenced Cathy Evelyn Smith to three years in prison for involuntary manslaughter for her role in the 1982 drug overdose death of comedian John Belushi. (Smith served 18 months.)

In 1998, a Swissair MD-11 jetliner crashed off Nova Scotia, killing all 229 people aboard.

Ten years ago: Afghan and NATO forces launched Operation Medusa, aimed at flushing out Taliban fighters in southern Afghanistan; 14 British servicemen were killed when their patrol plane crashed. Two-time Olympic decathlon champion and four-term California congressman Bob Mathias died in Fresno, California, at age 75.

Five years ago: In a dramatic reversal, President Barack Obama scrubbed a proposed clean-air regulation aimed at reducing smog, yielding to bitterly protesting businesses and congressional Republicans who complained the rule would kill jobs in America's ailing economy. Turkey expelled Israel's ambassador and cut military ties over Israel's refusal to apologize for a deadly 2010 raid on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla.

One year ago: Overcoming ferocious opposition, President Barack Obama secured a legacy-defining foreign policy victory as Senate Democrats clinched the necessary votes to ensure the Iran nuclear agreement survived in Congress. President Obama crossed the Arctic Circle in a first by a sitting U.S. president, telling residents in the far-flung Alaska village of Kotzebue (KAHT'-zih-byoo) that their plight resulting from climate change should be the world's wake-up call on global warming. In one of the most haunting images from the Syrian migrant crisis, the lifeless body of 3-year-old Alan Kurdi was photographed lying on a Turkish beach after he, his 5-year-old brother and their mother died when their rubber boat capsized as it headed for Greece.

Both SC and Vandy are terrible teams but I can't see Vandy winning a conference game this year unless it might be against Missouri as that program is in total shambles just as they well deserve to be.  Cocks might have 2 or maybe even 3 wins with a little luck.

Talk about government incompetency!!!!  The fact is the shit did not work.

Email from the Social Security Administration:

On July 30, 2016, we began requiring you to sign into your my Social Security account using a one-time code sent via text message. We implemented this new layer of security, known as “multifactor authentication,” in compliance with a Presidential executive order to improve the security of consumer financial transactions.  SSA implemented the improvements aggressively because we have a fundamental responsibility to protect the public’s personal information.

However, multifactor authentication inconvenienced or restricted access to some of our account holders. We’re listening to your concerns and are responding by temporarily rolling back this mandate.

As before July 30, you can now access your secure account using only your username and password. We highly recommend the extra security text message option, but it is not required. We’re developing an alternative authentication option, besides text messaging, that we’ll begin implementing within the next six months.

Some other hurricane info:

Native Americans called these storms Hurakons, after “a great spirit who commanded the east wind.” Spanish explorers adopted the word and then began giving hurricanes the names of patron saints on whose feast days the storms occurred. Later, hurricanes were identified by their longitude and latitude.

A weatherman in Australia is credited with being the first person to name a tropical storm after a female. By World War II, meteorologists in the U.S. military named storms after their girlfriends and wives. The first storm in the Atlantic Ocean named for a man was Hurricane Bob!

Hurricanes names are selected by the World Meteorological Organization. Every six years, the list of names begins again! However, the names of especially destructive hurricanes are usually retired.

I used to love the crap out of these Media Noches. I'm assuming they've changed the blend because I refuse to believe it's me.
Based on how fast they're moving, I think others agree with you.
Holy crap, this is painful. I almost want to buy them just to keep this thing moving.

Probably close in some areas but nobody died as promised, unless Dean did as he has not checked in.
Hinkle said early reports were that three people were injured overnight, one seriously, primarily in vehicle crashes. He urged people to stay off the roads unless travel was absolutely necessary.

I know it's a stupid question, but what possible reason could you have to going out in your car at the peak of a hurricane?

Guess Dean is out looking for Gazebo Repair Work this morning.
quite a windy night. hahaha. no power, lawn is a mess of limbs and palm fronds but all is well. clean up begins.
And the screen room?  Or perhaps you haven't made it over to the lady's house yet.
stayed at the ladys house last night. figured a new concrete house was safer than an old tin can of a trailer.
We knew you'd work something out....for safety of course.
Limbs flying this way and that, the sound of things slapping together, everything soaked.  And there was also that hurricane.
Some fine TGIF draggin' there sir.  You forgot the wind blowing however.
Is somebody running a hair dryer?

I think he meant CI... Although the Weekend special was from last weekend, so it will probably change at some point tonight. $137 for a box of lonsdales is still pretty good. The Jam was better for sure.

Fired up a Las Mareas for afternoon break.  Mighty fine so far!

I need a smoke break... won't happen here though. One more hour!
Well, this is a smoke break on a day off....so a little easier to manage.

You should be on #4 then... You know Dean is.
Guess I'm not into proper retirement or vacation mode yet, this is only #2.

No, you're not! Keep going 'til you get it right!
Not too many retirees can maintain Deans Cigar & Geriatric Sex Pace.
I'm just trying to keep up with the cigar side of things.   :-\

Ok, boys and girls... I'm headed for the swim club to meet up with the rest of the family. Enjoy the rest of the jam.
But what about the cigars you were going to buy?
He'll wait until they're gone then complain about missing them.
You can lead a horse to water...

But he planned to....
Sorry I didn't see this sooner so that I could tell each one of you to go fuck yourselves individually.
