An Aniversary
-------------------------
Husband and his wife were celebrating 50 years together. Their three kids, all very successful, all agreed to a Sunday dinner in their honor.
"Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad" gushed son number one, a surgeon, "Sorry I'm running late. I had an emergency at the hospital with a patient, you know how it is, and didn't have time to get you a gift."
"Not to worry" said the father, the important thing is that we're all together today."
Son number two, a lawyer, arrived and announced "You and Mom look great Dad". I just flew in from Los Angeles between depositions and didn't have time to shop for you".
"It's nothing," said the father. "We're glad you were able to come."
Just then the daughter,a marketing executive, arrived. "Hello and Happy Anniversary! I'm sorry but my boss is sending me out of town and I was really busy packing, so I didn't have time to get you anything."
After they finished dessert, the father said, "There's something your mother and I have wanted to tell you for a long time.
You see, we were very poor. Despite this, we were able to send each of you to college. Throughout the years your mother and I knew we loved each other very much, but we just never found the time to get married."
The three children gasped and all said, "You mean we're bastards?"
"Yep," said the father, "and cheap ones too!"

$100 Handshakes at the Longhorn Football Program??? Who would-a ever thunk it???
Former Texas quarterback Chris Simms appeared to be a child of privilege.
His father was former New York Giants quarterback and current CBS analyst Phil Simms. His son probably didn’t arrive at the Forty Acres with any real concerns about his finances, along with the benefits of a football scholarship.
But during his playing career with UT from 1999-2002, Simms hinted earlier today on a national radio show that he and other former Longhorn players might have received extra benefits above the value of his scholarship.
While appearing this morning on the CBSSports national radio show Tiki and Tierney, Simms said extra money was available for Longhorn athletes when he played there.
“They didn’t pay me, but there may have been cash going around to some other players,” Simms said. “I’m not going to deny that. I may have gotten a few $100 handshakes every now and then to sign some autographs for alumni.
“I don’t care how rich your upbringing was. Yes, I grew up with a silver spoon, but if you give me a few extra $100 as a college kid, that’s great.”

I think they were ready to go home judging by the way they played.
They started off looking really sharp. Pitching was just not up to early season standards as the season wore on.

Yea, but after that first year or two of pre-school/first grade where everyone is constantly sick, both you and the kids seem immune from everything.

Honestly hasn't been that bad. I haven't been nearly as tired as I thought I'd be. Though, I also haven't had a smoke all week cause I've been going to bed by 9:30, so good with the bad, I guess. But sleeping in and being off tomorrow will be a huge deal. Definitely gonna get a smoke in tonight.

I bought a 10 pack of Bareknuckle Coronas in Jan, so I guess they are around 5 months old. They're ok, but not on my top 10 list. Last week I was going to smoke one. I took it out of it's wrapper, and cut the head off. Before I could light it, I was interrupted, so I just put the cut cigar back into my humidor. I didn't get around to smoking it until about a week later. Man, was that a great cigar. That one week out of the wrapper with both ends cut off really made a world of difference... :)

Has anyone tried the Sucker Punch...? It reads: It has an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper that caps a Nicaraguan ligero core and a Cameroon binder. I like Connecticut and Cameroon, so it sounds like a good cigar to me. But I don't think I've heard anyone talk about it...? I believe it's rated an 88 (robusto.)

It's nice to pull out an extra great tasting cigar that's been hiding in the humidor. I had a Perdomo Habano Corojo that came in one of my first samplers years ago. I already made it up in my mind that I would probably not like it, so I never smoked it. I bet it was 3 years old when I finally smoked it last month, and it was great. May have been due to the age.

Most likely Somerville, I have to call Nik's to see if they allow cigar smoking on the patio then weather will have to be watched

If it rains, maybe you could hold one of those little drink umbrellas over your cigar. Mmmm, but that would leave your drink uncovered..?

I was fed up with the landscapers, so I got rid of them(no they do not sleep with
the fishes!), but I found out I don't like pushing the lawn mower around myself(when I bought
the mower, didn't get self propelled - should have spent the extra hundred!). Took yesterday off
and came across a person at a traffic light, with a sign, will work for food or money. Handed her a dollar,
I should have stopped and asked if she would mow the lawn for $20 and a bag of groceries. it's been two weeks...
Had it have been the guy, who is usually at the corner, maybe.

Country living sounds nice. I've been watching that tv program on the National Geographic Channel, "Life Below Zero," and that sort of sounds nice to be out away from everyone. Of course I wouldn't be able to make it.

Smoked Bareknuckles with friends last night while working on my pickup. I grade the Bareknuckle a "B." Solid smoke, nice flavors, I always keep some on hand, but nothing I get terribly excited about. But that's me. YMMV, GFY, etc.
Morning, muchachos. Busy today, hoping to leave early.

Punch is not a line I (or most folks here) frequent. Generally good reviews from sites I tend to agree with.
The only 2 Punch I can remember liking are the Bareknuckle and the new Signature. Got that one at CF, was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
Good afternoon Bret.
Happy upcoming Father's Day, Dad.

It seems like he like a reg. San Cristobal, from what I can rememer.. :) I stopped taking cigar notes a long time ago after I realized that my taste in cigars differs so much from everyone else. I'd be lucky to name 10 cigars that others would agree with me on.

No mowing here today.
I have plenty to cut if it would make you feel better to drive over and cut it, it has its own built in ice chest to help with the heat.
I'd probably get a DWI on a riding lawn mower.
You would be safe at my place, way out in the country so no one would bother you.
Country living sounds nice. I've been watching that tv program on the National Geographic Channel, "Life Below Zero," and that sort of sounds nice to be out away from everyone. Of course I wouldn't be able to make it.
That ain't country, not even rural...

I'm so fucking pissed. I've been put on a new project and at every turn I'm being sabotaged. Mostly from other IT counterparts. I opened a ticket to have a password reset on a server yesterday... HOW FUCKING LONG DOES IT TAKE? Then I try to login to a different server in the meantime and it turns out the remote desktop policy has changed and I can no longer do that. WTF?!?! All signs are pointing to an early dismissal.

it's obviously an advanced math word problem.
400 cigars divided by 10 BotL = 40 cigars apiece.
now if 22 Botl's show up, then they only get 18.18 cigars each
or 20 of them get 18 apiece, and 2 get 38.

By the way, great draw and burn on that LHC Core. Wound up smoking it way way down to the nub. Not my favorite smoke by any means but definitely enjoyable. Probably would have enjoyed the flavors more if I had taken my time with it. Unusual for me to smoke a toro in an hour.
