It's Tuesday again! In between insults we'll occasionally discuss cigars.  Join in and perhaps learn something along the way.  Warning: don't proceed if you have thin skin but don't be afraid to post either...  And welcome aboard!

Young Preacher
-------------------------

A young preacher was contacted by the local funeral director to hold
a grave-side committal service at a small local cemetery for someone
with no family or friends. The preacher started early but quickly got
himself lost, making several wrong turns.

He arrived a half-hour late, the hearse was nowhere in sight, and the
workmen were eating lunch.

The pastor went to the open grave and found the vault lid already in
place.  Taking out his book, he read the service.

As he was returning to his car, he overheard one of the workmen say:
"Think we should tell him it's a septic tank?"

Morning Dave, Nacho's great, thanks. 10PM until 5AM when I went out into the kitchen, no accidents and not a peep. Put him on a leash to go out and he does his business, he's far ahead of where I thought he'd be by now. He's home during the day from 8AM until 3:30 and my wife comes home to take him out just before noon, no issues or accidents yesterday so he's doing very well

Like Tony said last week, it's the price you pay for not having a car payment. With this one, plus the $1100 to fix the engine in February, definitely gotta get some more mileage out of this car now.

Cheers! It’s National Beer Day

(NBC) — Tuesday is National Beer Day, an unofficial holiday recognized among beer enthusiasts. It was 82 years ago today that the Cullen-Harrison Act took effect, ending prohibition. President Franklin Roosevelt signed the act, which allowed Americans to legally buy beer again for the first time in 13 years.

He's smart and we know how to go about it but he's really picked it up quickly, very happy with him but it takes diligent effort right from the start and continues the first month or two. The kids have been great with him so far also

Me too, I'll probably be looking more towards a 6:00 arrival though. Have to get the first vet appt out of the way quickly so that's at 4:30 on Thursday. Baseball practice last night, Invisible Fence guy at the house tonight, baseball practice Wednesday so Thursday was the only day I could squeeze it in. I wouldn't make it there before 5:30 anyway so not costing me much

Good morning boys! Happy Tuesday!
Morning Fish, how is Nacho?
Morning Dave, Nacho's great, thanks. 10PM until 5AM when I went out into the kitchen, no accidents and not a peep. Put him on a leash to go out and he does his business, he's far ahead of where I thought he'd be by now. He's home during the day from 8AM until 3:30 and my wife comes home to take him out just before noon, no issues or accidents yesterday so he's doing very well
I'm impressed.  I thought you'd be telling "stepped in shit" stories for months.
Two to one the wife says to fishy "Too bad you weren't this easy to train" before the day is out.
Safe bet there, and then Fishy responds, "At least I am trainable" and is banished to the dog house for a week,

But not before taking a crap on the kitchen floor on his way out. Metaphorically speaking, of course.

Pewter is a malleable metal alloy, traditionally 85–99% tin, with the remainder consisting of copper, antimony, bismuth and sometimes, less commonly today, lead. Silver is also sometimes used. Copper and antimony act as hardeners while lead is common in the lower grades of pewter, which have a bluish tint.  (Wikipedia)

Update from this morning:

Legendary blues musician B.B. King, 89, was taken to a Las Vegas hospital over the weekend.

But he is doing "much better," his daughter Claudette tells The Los Angeles Times.

King was suffering from dehydration stemming from his Type 2 diabetes.

Yeah...the man's nearly 90, and can rock a house sitting down better than most guitarists standing up.  It will be a sad day when we lose him.  News says he's okay.  But that can turn on a dime.

Tex and I were talking about BB King last night.  Today, King has been hospitalized in Las Vegas.

So...tonight Tex and I will be talking extensively about Barak Obama.
Oh damn.  Now this site is on the list.
Damn right cause we will be discussing his great accomplishments and honoring his presence.
Definitely gonna get past 18 pages then.
Easily 18 for sure, if you wish to stick around late and particpate the first topic will be:

1) How well he fuct up the entire health care system.
But not without help from Corporate America.  What time are we getting started?

On Famous Bid:

Jericho Hill OBS 5 Pack - 4 3/4 X 52 - $14.50 with 40 min left. Total lot size is (20), only (13) are bid on at this point. Buy (4) and you have a box for $65 shipped
I just bid on (2)
Good deal if you are into short cigars.
That's a solid robusto.  Give or take 1/4 inch.  It makes up for it in the RG.  (TWSS)
Using that theory a Nub is a solid Toro I guess, but I don't look at it by the square inch.

I likes them Jericho Hill's but not my size.
Not my favorite but I'll take 'em for $3EA

Tempting but I won't bid now and screw up your chances.
It's fine, there are still (3) 5-packs not yet bid on

In for three, see what happens.  Thanks!

I bought a couple of these samplers before on the Jam and not too bad a deal IMHO.

Don Pepin Garcia My Father & Friends Sampler III
8 CIGARS (35% savings!)
MSRP:$54.00 $34.99
I could do without the Baez but otherwise agree.

Great morning to you, Sam.  What was the commute smoke last evening?
Hey Tony!  Sorry for the delay.  work is busy, I need to work at running a few customers off so I have more time to banter!  Smoked a CAO Black toro last night.  very nice smoke.  i've never picked up a "citrus" flavor in a cigar before, but for some reason I did get a bit of the tartness I identify with orange in the Black off and on through the burn.

Used to love those but the last few I had sucked.  They don't age well, imho.  Although I think it's more to do with my taste in cigars changing.  I might still have 1 or 2 in the humi that are 5+ years old.  I'll revisit.

I hadn't smoked many of them and never had a chance to age any.  Based on what you've indicated,  I'll probably smoke 8 of these in the next month or 2 and save the last couple for next year.

We'll have mercy on those who don't wish to participate and start it at the afternoon lull when people start to leave.

And you are Corporate America, Mr. Mayor...as are most - likely all - members of this forum.

(Wikipedia)
Ok, good, so I'm not the only one who looked that up.
Paul Revere worked with Pewter.  It was what tankards were usually made of...

(Wikipedia)
Ok, good, so I'm not the only one who looked that up.
Paul Revere worked with Pewter.  It was what tankards were usually made of...

Lol, poor Dan.

Funny thing is, if he wasn't so absurdly sensitive to any sort of teasing, I'd drop it and say 'maybe next time'.
Are you talking Tiger or Dan?

Think I will make the drink today some Holy City Pluff Mud Porter I brought from Charleston.

Pluff mud [plŭff-mŭd], noun, A mixture of dirt and water indigenous to the marshes of the South Carolina Lowcountry, with a distinct odor that’s endearing to locals, but off-putting to tourists and redcoats.

Our second flagship beer was an effort to bring the American Porter style to the Charleston market proper, while also making a beer that stays appealing as the mercury rises. We think we’ve succeeded in Pluff Mud Porter. It presents (and smells) like a classic porter, with subtle chocolate notes and a silky finish, but the medium body and tame ABV keep it refreshing at all times. Enjoy this throughout the year, in or out of the marsh.

Pluff Mud makes its way into bourbon barrels roughly once a year. Keep your eyes (and nostrils) peeled.

Doing role call this afternoon TexasDave?
Somebody has to do it once in a while.
I don't know about that......something about not asking questions you don't want answers to.
Same reason I don't read the Obits and wouldn't live in a Senior community.
Just the opposite for me I can't stand it when people you know just fall off the face of the earth and you don't know wtf thappened to them.  Several have done that around here.  Now as for the Senior Community I have NO INTEREST THERE!!!!!  This place is about as senior as I want to be around.  In fact I would probably come closer to moving into a college apartment than a senior community, don't call me Dean I have no interest in old women!
I can see it now...a retirement community called CigarBanter.

Sorry to hear it.  Used to love that show.  I'm enjoying the new AutoTrader commercials too.  I remember seeing Best's character name written out for the first time a couple of years back.  Prior to that I thought his name was Rosco Pico Train.

Can't wait to start sipping some fine whiskeys.  Been trying to read up on the banter with the news in the background.  We have rain bearing down in an hour or two (then lasting on and off through the week), so I'm going to get out and ride the bike for a bit.  Hope to watch the Women's hoops tonight and try another of the new Ramon Bueso Genesis Habano torpedos tonight.  See youse fine gentlemen later, Sam, Raz, Tony, Daves & CB whereever you are.s

A small plane that took off in Indianapolis after the NCAA championship crashed in Central Illinois, killing all seven aboard the aircraft, authorities said.

The Cessna 414 crashed just after midnight on Tuesday outside of Bloomington, Ill., the FAA said.

The Chicago Tribune reported the flight was departing Indianapolis after the NCAA men's basketball championship games. The Tribune cited Scott Barrows, who said his son-in-law was the owner of the plane and among those killed.

Illinois State University in Normal said two members of the athletics department were killed. Aaron Leetch was deputy director of Athletics for external operations. Torrey Ward was associate head coach of the men's basketball team.

The FAA initially reported five people were on the flight, but police said in a later update the plane carried seven people.

Emergency crews located the plane around 3:15 a.m., said Sgt. Bill Tate with McLean County Sheriff's Office.

All seven occupants of the plane were confirmed dead, Tate said.

In English, if one is confused and wants the speaker to repeat or clarify, he'll say "What?" or "Huh?" or "Come again?"

In Spanish, you say "¿Como?"  It's an idiomatic thing.  If you want to ask a complete question you'll say, "¿Que se dice?"  But if you just want to use one word, use ¿como?

It's also what most people say when they answer the phone.

To get the preceding question mark, use alt+0191.

I generally don't care enough about most people to notice in the first place.

Use a Spanish typewriter...or go to symbols in word, same place you'll find a tilde or accents.
or use your alt keys:  http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000657.htm

To what end?  Two times the fun.

What is the definition of banter if not wordplay.
Much better than the foreplay here.... very unfulfilling.... with the possible exception of Yellow star....

Sounds right up your alley Antnee, don't forget the olive oil.
Just finished a nice spinach salad with candied pecans, pears and goat cheese.  It wasn't kinky though.

Haven't had one in a long time.  A fine botl gifted them to me a long time ago and I still have 1 or 2.  In case you lurk on here Chris, you are very much missed.

I always miss out.  LOL!  I smoked a small 4x36  Por Larrañaga on my way home.  I don't recall who gifted it to me.  It was interesting but not a smoke I would go out and buy.
