Post by: CigarBanter on October 03, 2014, 12:00:02 AM
Sheesh, October already?!  Join in this cigar talk with the rest of us and learn something along the way.  Be warned, you will catch hell if you post something everyone doesn't agree with.  And heaven forbid if you should make a grammatical error, you'll be berated with GFYs!  So don't proceed if you have thin skin.  Then light a cigar, pop open your favorite pumpkin beer and welcome aboard!

Titanic was about to sink. People on the ship were shouting, crying, running and praying to God - just then a passenger had the following conversation with the captain.

Passenger: How far is land, from here?

Captain: Two miles...

Passenger: Only two miles, then why these fools are making noise. I have the experience of swimming even more.

Captain: .....????

Yeah for me it was late, did not get home from Jury Duty till after 10 and was dead dog tired and too wired up to go to sleep for a while.  Guilty verdict inAbout 1 hour yesterday morning and then got a mistrial on the sentencing.  Basically had 1 juror that went crazy and did not want the guy to go to prison wanted him to have rehab.  All he did was stab his girlfriend with an 8" chef knife in the arm, then in the back all the way through her kidney breaking the knife handle off and then getting a pair of kitchen scissors and stabbing her with those in the neck behind the ear severing the primary facial control nerve, then slammed he face into the tile floor and wall a few times.  And to,top it off he was a 3rd strike felon and the sentencing guidelines were a minimum of 25 years to life.

In Texas defendant has the right to choose Judge or Jury sentencing after the verdict.  There will be another trial with a new jury but that will take a minimum of 4-6 months to start.  Good side is the guy is in prison now for parole violations and has 5 years left on that sentence so he is not getting on the street before the next trial.  Down side is the evidence is sketchy and if he had a good lawyer rather than a court appointed one he would likely have gotten off.  So who knows what the next jury might do!  Austin cops blew the whole damn thing and states prosecuter was incompetent so a top tier criminal lawyer would have eaten them.  What sunk the guy was he wanted to testify in his own defense.

Oh yeah, rehab will probably clean him right up.
Yeah especially since he is a PCP addict too.
Come on now, I'm sure he had a tough childhood, and is just misunderstood.

Got Gurkha's out of the way now as well.
67% savings, what do they take us for?
Thats cause the spiffy box is included.  If it was just cigars, discount would be 90%

That is true and another sad side story really.  Father went to jail for beating his mother when the defendant was about 10 or so and he pretty much lived on the street with some guidance from his grandmother who testified and was the sweetest lady you could ever hope to meet.  I brought up the fact we were helping her by getting rid of him and in talking to the judge and attorneys after the mistrial they said that was actually very true because he treats her like crap and steals her money.   First arrest was at 15 and he has been in jail all but about 2 years since he was about 20.  He will be 34 this month.

Just an unsolicited free reminder but make sure your poly finish has plenty of time to cure out and the weather can make huge differences in curing but it has to be hard and dry not just dry to the touch for perfect long term performance.

If they don't we'll out in a 12 hour day just jam um for another hour or so.

Now that you're making a pretty cabinet, you need to identify some pretty boxes to decorate it with.  Might I suggest the economical EPC La Historia, EPC 2013 LE (a bit pricy however), AVO (although I'm not a fan of the cigars), Foundry has numerous quirky ones (cigars not always great there either)

Get that AVO sampler that's like $240. That should look REAL nice.

Emailed him a couple times recently. He says he's doing well. Still uses the FaceBook group, but banters are still blocked. He said he can still get to the cigar sites to check out deals. Just know he's a big Wildcats fan, so the win is probably making his Friday that much better.

No, to be honest, not crazy about Weyerbacher and haven't purchased anything from them in a while.  The ones I've had tasted rather "thin", like a number of homemade beers I've had.  complexity, well roundedness and good finish weren't there.  Not that they haven't changed or aren't better, but I haven't had a real reason to revisit.

Well, we could just combined (if 2 were available) and figure something out to redirect the other box. That way we're in and out with no need for another item. Just a thought. Can't do it right now, but maybe in a week or two.

The alleged drug dealer brought up several times during the trial I was on was named Tony and the "other girl" that was the reason the fight started was Tony's girl Dawn.  This could have easily been a made for TV show rather than reality.

Hey Tony, Dave & Steve!  Thanks!   Hope everyone finds something on the jamb that they just can't do without!

Hey, Sam. Think everyone should pitch in and get this Diesel sampler for Joe's bday?
We talking JWacky Joe?  I think this would be perfect for him!  knowing how he loves all product AJ.
But if we get that, won't littlefish feel slighted for his birthday?  ....and we've already missed the Gurkha's and AB Tempus for the day, so what would we get him?
Haha, you've given enough. Question: Have you ever tried the Weyerbacher Double Simcoe IPA?
I feel like they were at CigarFest but don't quote me on that one.

His last name Orlando?  Look like one of these???

Foundry and Foundry Elements are some pretty wild boxes and cigars.  If only most of the cigars were as interesting as the PR and hype.  Google them to check out.

My wife just got home.  She's lucky that she went to the bank before going to the grocery store, because she found out that her debit card was cancelled.  This is the 3rd time that our credit / debit cards have been cancelled due to the data breaches at Schnucks, Shop n' Save, and Home Depot.  It appears that the United States is the only country in the world that uses old magnetic strip credit cards rather than the new computer chip cards like the rest of the world.  Making us the main target for credit card fraud.  This is crazy...!

Guess you have the knobs that just a turn of a slotted screwdriver will open, and not the ones with the hole you need to pop. She'll learn 'em all eventually. Just so she knows the 'when it's okay' part.

I heard the lock click as I was going, so I had to try and hit the pot, and lean back and hold the door closed at the same time.  The door handles have those plastic childproof spinners on them, so I don't have a problem with the 2 year old, but the 5 year old can open it.  What's funny is, my wife can't open the door with the childproof spinner... geez...!

For some reason, that doesn't surprise me. The Warden still has issues locking the garage door that isn't on an opener. She turns the switch to unlock it, but always too far so the tab stays down, Then she turns the handle about 10 times before she comes up and says "I can't get that damn lock again". I just laugh now and reply "Yes, dear. I'll get it."

For the record, she is very intelligent... just not in these cases.  ;)

My wife went to the grocery store, because I'm not allowed to go any more because I spend too much money.  She's been back for an hour.  She wanted an egg sandwich and orange juice before going to bed.  As I'm cooking the egg on a gas stove, she lays the new paper on the stove to show me an ad.  I run her out of the kitchen, and I'm bitching about the news paper.  When she shops, she buys odd stuff that doesn't go together. Such as a salad, but no salad dressing.  Gravy but no mash potatoes.  And an extra large frozen potatoes side dish with nothing to go with it.  I just poured her some orange juice and guess what, she just bought a 1 gal. of expired orange juice.  She's finally in bed, and I took a big bite out of my egg sandwich, and it's all runny white, so into the trash...  Well, it's time to wash the dishes...

No, thank goodness....    The other day I had to use the bathroom.  I always lock the door, even thou the 5 year old knows how to pick the lock with a popsicle stick.  Anyway, there's a knock at the door and it's my 2 year old grandson.  He's yelling, "are you going to the bathroom...?"  Yes, I am.  "Are you peeing...?"  Yes, I am.  Are you standing up....?????

Haha! ...keep the popsicle's to a minimum.  ;)
She figured out how to use a popsicle stick when she was 4.  Now she's found other objects that work too.  I did have a talk with her, and she doesn't do it anymore, ever since the wet pant leg of 2013...

LMFAO!  Ahhhh, Shit. Too Funny. The wet pant leg [incident] of 2013
I heard the lock click as I was going, so I had to try and hit the pot, and lean back and hold the door closed at the same time.

Hate to keep going to the movie reels, but this sounds like Friday

My wife just got home.  She's lucky that she went to the bank before going to the grocery store, because she found out that her debit card was cancelled.  This is the 3rd time that our credit / debit cards have been cancelled due to the data breaches at Schnucks, Shop n' Save, and Home Depot.  It appears that the United States is the only country in the world that uses old magnetic strip credit cards rather than the new computer chip cards like the rest of the world.  Making us the main target for credit card fraud.  This is crazy...!
Just been through the same thing.  Pain in the assets.
3 times in 2 years for one of my credit cards.

Holy crap batman got some orders delivered this week and Famous had put one of those Kuba Kubas in there so said what the hell I will try it since I can't put it in the humi.  Never tasted a turd but before but may have just done it.  So fuk'n nasty I spit it out before even lighting it.   Shiner Octoberfest and a 601 Labomba Napalm lit.   82 and sunny with a nice breeze here - so very nice.
Can't remember if it was the Kuba or the Def Sea but the blue banded Acid I lit a few years back, was enough to scare me.  You made the right move, imho.
I believe Def Sea is an Orange band
I stand corrected, it was the box pressed Deep Dish... I think.
Just did an image search.  It was in fact, the Deep Dish.  By far the nastiest "cigar" I ever smoked.

Did have a blue band.  Got the warden to taste it without lighting and she said it tasted like cheap lip gloss.
I still have mine.... waiting on being drunk enough or an appropriate dare.  Did you save your coupon for a free 5er with a $100 order?
No on coupon and a healthy human would pass out before being drunk enough.   Might mail it to the Ebola patient in Dallas could be a cure but either way it should put him out of his misery.

I think.

You sure that wasnt pizza hut?
Not a big fan of pizza hut either.  Their sauce gives me indigestion.
I worked there long ago.  You call that sauce? Some Italian you are.

tomorrow is another day Steve.
and yes, an upgrade is the thing. camper only cost her $800, I already have about $200 in materials for the roof. she figured that if I stayed for 8 months the camper was paid for. now it's 10 months plus for her payback. no idea what the next fix it job will entail.

How's that shiner treating you, Dave?
Two Shiners were great but I actually think Sam Adams is a better Octoberfest.  Shiner is a bit lighter.  Having a wonderful Ballast Point Sculpin now.  Great beer if you can get it but a bit pricey.

I did not even take the pay, donated to the county victims fund along with most of the others. Good thing is the animal is in jail for 5 more years regardless of the final outcome from this case.

Evening Raz.  Thinking about you while ago read about a new 1911 in .357 Magnum, damn what a cannon.  My favorite caliber with no close second
Hadn't heard about a new one.  Is this new one as ugly as the one that was coming out of someplace in Scottsdale a few years back?  Actually, ugly is too strong a word.  I'd take one if I could afford it, but it isn't as sexy as the .45 cal.

I haven't owned a .357 since 1988.  If I could get over my cigar fetish, guitar fetish, Harley fetish, and my new ham radio fetish, I could probably afford one.
