Buenos dias, BoTL! Lurked a bit yesterday. Saw the suggestion to check the Fu. I do enjoy some MoWs. Gonna hold off for now, though. Too many others I'm interested in, and I'm sitting on a few MoW already. :)

Presently enjoying a Laranja givted by Tex. Thanks, Tex! I do like these. One of my faves since the old DBG Blue. A little less pepper, but the citrus is a nice addition.

I'll be lurking and posting from time to time, but now that the semester is rolling again I'm trying to stay productive. Lots to do!

Looks like Dean can call the posse back in:

It's over: Billy Boyette Jr. commits suicide at Georgia motel

A citizen on Tuesday afternoon spotted the stolen vehicle the two were seen driving and alerted authorities who surrounded the west Georgia motel, Woodruff told reporters, according to video posted online by WTVM-TV. Boyette allowed Rice to leave the motel room early Tuesday evening and she was seen crying while being taken into custody, Woodruff said. Authorities then heard a single gunshot from inside the motel room and subsequently found Boyette dead inside, Woodruff said.

Today is Wednesday, Feb. 8, the 39th day of 2017. There are 326 days left in the year.

Today's Highlight in History:

On Feb. 8, 1942, during World War II, Japanese forces began invading Singapore, which fell a week later.

On this date:

In 1587, Mary, Queen of Scots was beheaded at Fotheringhay Castle in England after she was implicated in a plot to murder her cousin, Queen Elizabeth I.

In 1862, the Civil War Battle of Roanoke Island, North Carolina, ended in victory for Union forces led by Gen. Ambrose E. Burnside.

In 1910, the Boy Scouts of America was incorporated.

In 1915, D.W. Griffith's groundbreaking as well as controversial silent movie epic about the Civil War, "The Birth of a Nation," premiered in Los Angeles under its original title, "The Clansman."

In 1922, President Warren G. Harding had a radio installed in the White House.

In 1937, during the Spanish Civil War, Malaga fell to Nationalist and Italian forces.

In 1952, Queen Elizabeth II proclaimed her accession to the British throne following the death of her father, King George VI.

In 1968, three college students were killed in a confrontation with highway patrolmen in Orangeburg, South Carolina, during a civil rights protest against a whites-only bowling alley.

In 1973, Senate leaders named seven members of a select committee to investigate the Watergate scandal, including its chairman, Sen. Sam J. Ervin, D-N.C.

In 1989, 144 people were killed when an American-chartered Boeing 707 filled with Italian tourists slammed into a fog-covered mountain in the Azores.

In 1992, the XVI Olympic Winter Games opened in Albertville, France.

In 1996, in a ceremony at the Library of Congress, President Bill Clinton signed legislation revamping the telecommunications industry, saying it would "bring the future to our doorstep."

Ten years ago: Model, actress and tabloid sensation Anna Nicole Smith died in Hollywood, Florida, at age 39 of an accidental drug overdose. A federal judge in Fargo, North Dakota, sentenced Alfonso Rodriguez Jr. to death for the slaying of college student Dru Sjodin (droo shoh-DEEN'). (Rodriguez remains in prison as his case is appealed.) Rival Palestinian leaders signed an agreement on a power-sharing government at Saudi-brokered talks in Mecca.

Five years ago: Washington state lawmakers voted to approve same-sex marriage. Kyle Dyer, an anchor for Denver station KUSA-TV, was seriously injured when she was bitten in the face by an 85-pound Argentine mastiff while conducting a live studio interview on the dog's rescue from an icy pond.

One year ago: President Barack Obama asked Congress for more than $1.8 billion in emergency funding to fight the Zika (ZEE'-kuh) virus and the mosquitoes that were spreading it in the United States and abroad, but said "there shouldn't be a panic on this." Villanova was No. 1 in The Associated Press men's college basketball poll for the first time. (The 20-3 Wildcats made the jump from third following then-No. 1 Oklahoma's loss to Kansas State and then-No. 2 North Carolina's losses to Louisville and Notre Dame.)

I need to get a bigger tub, the one Tex posted was nicer than the one I currently use and I need to get rid of my small humidors. I have 4 small, CFest-sized humis in use and I'm tired of maintaining them. My "staple" medium desktop will always be used, it's my favorite but the others have to go this spring

Quick look over about ten sites, and the only one that even has Johnny Tobacconaut is SmokeInn.  Not discounted.  I would say overall inventory except maybe Payback is fairly low.

Holt's still has MCII, Daruma Gold and Uncle Lee for some of the lowest prices.
Prices inflated at JR.
I'm stocked (at my level, not Tex's) on MCII's but never bought the Uncle Lee's
They are a solid cigar, but wouldn't have them take up the space (of some Namakubi's for example)  if you are storage critical.

The Page has Camacho today and of course some knives.
Thought they might include a Room 101 with them, and sure enough, the San Andres 808 6x60 logs.

Production estimates were 3,500 boxes. I find it hard to believe that many have sold at the "regular" pricing...

You could always upgrade humi's
First one is the best bargain ($250 at Atlantic), second is from CI for 1.1K or Havana Footlocker which regularly appears on the Devil , on CI for $150.

There's more too.  Wanted to get this out quickly from today's email.
50 Namakubi Ecuador Papi's for $185 + $8.50 shipping? That one? Works out about $3.87 a stick. Don't suppose you have any coupon codes?
10reddit    Not sure if they are good deals.

The box of PC's less the 10% is not bad @3.33 a stick, but that is really the current rate on the auction sites. The Roxxo @3 was a better deal, imo.

You could always upgrade humi's
First one is the best bargain ($250 at Atlantic), second is from CI for 1.1K or Havana Footlocker which regularly appears on the Devil , on CI for $150.
that last won, comes knocked down, you have to put it together yourself.

Morning, muchachos. Is $6 a stick for MF Centurion Robustos a deal, or no?
Absolutely not, stand by
Used to be better, 5-packs started at $15, now up to $21. I bought them at $15. Boxes are $82 with $6 shipping so $88 delivered

As we've recently gotten other Papi Chulo 50/box for under $100, I would say just OK.  Ecuadors are good, but not a personal favorite in the Room 101 line.
Okay, same notion for me - no money for okay today.

if I were doing something lasting longer than a few years yes, but all I really did was replace the 2 exising posts that were rotted, I used ground contact pressure treated so it'll last longer than the previous posts. new deck next year will have no wood below grade.

Your work looks nice.  Should have put a new gutter on while you were at it, and add a splashguard or extender.
Hopefully if you replace the deck, you'll use Trex, TimberTech, AZEK or the like.

Since you used sonotube forms would not it have been simple to leave them sticking out above grade 6" - 12"?  Post ground contact avoided.

Are you waiting for the Mamas to reappear?
According to Famous Mama's have been discontinued and all these recent Papa offers would indicate that for them.   Not shopping for either as I am very well stocked from the first Mash offering.

You can still find them in good supply at outer outlets. I picked up a box of the Papas in December (same Mash Deal) and this is the first week I've noticed them back... debating on getting another since they are rare appearances... and apparently could be discontinued. They are a great smoke.

Only 3 more in stock at Famous... there were 9 Monday.

...and now there's 0

Runaway Cow Escapes Butcher, Leads Cops On Hilarious Chase

"It kind of escaped," police say of a cow that lead them on a wild chase. A steer that was on its way to becoming steaks and hamburger bolted from a Texas butcher and led police on a lumbering chase down city streets, authorities said. The Weatherford Texas Police Department told InsideEdition.com the 800-pound bovine ran from Hamilton Meats and eluded capture for hours, police said. After cops chased it through downtown intersections, the butcher's owners called in professional cowboys.

Good afternoon, boys.

Been a busy day. The good news is that I haven't received any rejections today. Also, I got a couple of good leads.

Oh, and I smoked a couple of cigars.

The first one I smoked this morning wasn't on my short list.

The 2nd one which I'm currently still smoking was on that short list. I can't really describe it other than a bunch of spice in the first third but I know I like it.

Today's Highlight in History:
...
In 1915, D.W. Griffith's groundbreaking as well as controversial silent movie epic about the Civil War, "The Birth of a Nation," premiered in Los Angeles under its original title, "The Clansman."

Any relation?
