Title: 3/17/2015 - Happy Saint Patrick's Day
Post by: CigarBanter on March 16, 2015, 11:58:59 PM
I'm expecting big things from you on this St. Patty's Day so don't let me down!  After all, it's Tuesday too.  In between insults we'll occasionally discuss cigars.  Join in and perhaps learn something along the way.  Be warned, post on this site and you will catch hell from members and trolls alike.  Therefore, don't proceed if you have thin skin.  If you can accept all that, light a cigar, pour a beverage and welcome aboard!

Whats This?
-------------------------

The day care teacher holds up a picture and asks, "What's this?" "A horsy," one child answers.

"And this?" the teacher asks. "A piggy," replies another youngster."

And now this one?" asks the teacher, holding up a picture of a male deer with a beautiful rack of antlers.
There was no answer, only total silence. "Come now, children," she coaxes, "I'll give you a little hint".

What does your Mommy call your Daddy when he hugs and kisses her a lot?
"I know! I know!!" exclaims one little girl.
"It's a horny bastard!"

A guy walked into a bar one night and ordered 12 martinis, the bartender asked if he wanted them all at once or one at a time. The guy said all at once. The bartender said you must be celebrating, the guy said I am, had my first blow job today. The bartender smiled and said congratulations, the 13 martini will be on the house. The guy said no thanks, if 12 don't take the taste out of my mouth 13 won't matter.

Buy any box of El Rey del Mundo Reserva Nicaragua (or maybe we should call them “Rí Ar An Domhan” for the day?) and get a free set of El Rey del Mundo beer glasses and a 5-pack… PLUS free standard shipping! That’s a lot of free stuff – it must be your lucky day!    https://www.jrcigars.com/deal/buy-a-box-of-el-rey-del-mundo-reserva-nicaragua-get-5-cigars-and-a-set-of-beer-glasses-free?utm_source=listrak&utm_medium=email&utm_content=150317fr-03-60-00B_stpat_banner&utm_campaign=HSP&trk_msg=TN0I99HFA0H47EGR2OSGCUOR1G&trk_contact=MKJF2H81IFTLACJ9KN2H7I9SQ0 (https://www.jrcigars.com/deal/buy-a-box-of-el-rey-del-mundo-reserva-nicaragua-get-5-cigars-and-a-set-of-beer-glasses-free?utm_source=listrak&utm_medium=email&utm_content=150317fr-03-60-00B_stpat_banner&utm_campaign=HSP&trk_msg=TN0I99HFA0H47EGR2OSGCUOR1G&trk_contact=MKJF2H81IFTLACJ9KN2H7I9SQ0)  JR cigars, no advice on these.

ok, feel like having an Irish lunch, maybe Irish lamb stew, or the grilled Irish plate.
Going to walk one block to either McGarrys, or Twins Pub both on 9th ave,
between 33rd & 34th.  10 blocks and 4 avenues from the parade, should be safe right now.

I am not looking forward to that commute home today.  All the drunkards slaintiuil will be on the train with me.
If you leave before 5pm, most will still be drinking.
the later in the day, the more chance of green beer vomit!
It's amazing how many more people from Jersey travel to NYC for
the Irish drinking orgy...
Before 5 is not that realistic for me.  I guess I'll see what I can do.
Wear your trench coat home, you know the one with the fake pant bottoms sewn in

Morning, all, and happy Tuesday.  Doing the green thing today but I agree with Scott... it's dumb.  I don't need a reason to drink before noon during the week.
Please tell me you, of all people, have zero intention of drinking any green beer...

I assure you, no shitty green beer for me.
but if it is a  Peanut butter and key lime jello green porter stout sculpin at sea limited release, aged in a cheddar cheese wheel? would you could you Sam I am?
as long as it's the limited release....
had to put that in, it just screams Jwacky...

I apologize to nobody for drinking good beer!
Yeah, like who ever heard of beer aged in a cheese wheel?

Indeed.  That's just silly.  Morning, Mike.

Speaking of which I found another source for VaS 6-packs

Sounds like they're becoming regularly available out there?
I wouldn't go that far, I had to search like crazy to find 2 places

Ha, well, seems like every time I'm here you've found a new place that carries it.  Guess that's not too often these days.

I don't have much beer on hand at home, need to reload.

Everything in moderation.  Those six-packs are smaller bottles, that's gotta count for something.  Nevermind the fact that you'll drink three of them at a time.

Nothing particularly new/interesting, been digging through old inventory.  I really like the Room 101 Connies that I bought a month or so ago.  Forgot how much I like those Cubao No.7s... Griffins are going downhill with time, IMO...

Other than those, everything else is as good as they've ever been.

I smoked another Monte White yesterday... Still hate it.  The problem with it is that it burns way too hot.  It doesn't give off a lot of smoke so you tend to puff a little faster and then it cones on ya.  I've got one left of the 5er and I'm gonna smoke it when I have lots of time to devote to it to see if it makes a difference.  I'm not optimistic.

I smoked another Monte White yesterday... Still hate it.  The problem with it is that it burns way too hot.  It doesn't give off a lot of smoke so you tend to puff a little faster and then it comes on ya.  I've got one left of the 5er and I'm gonna smoke it when I have lots of time to devote to it to see if it makes a difference.  I'm not optimistic.
Fixed it
Completely expected that from you, fucker!
No you didn't, but go ahead and smoke another one. It's like putting spoiled milk back in the fridge and trying it again the next day expecting it to be good

Anything new on the job front CG?
Phone interview with a company today at 4p and another at 10a tomorrow - finally some good traction.  Hoping to hear back from 1 or 2 other places later this week.

Sounds miserable - not a wine guy, so I would be all sorts of lost and confused.  I would just get Apothic White and Red, couple cases of each :)

Well you think you would but if the warden is around it will not be that simple.

Both good companies, one a project manager role and one an inventory specialist role - places I am waiting to hear back from are banks, one really good opening that I will at least have an interview for.  Just hoping Lori doesn't have my application!

in the process of deciding what to smoke on the ride home at the moment.  decided to dig to the bottom of the bottom work humi to see what's available and realized most of these sticks have over a year on them..how time flies.

found a DPG Cuban Classic.  has to be at least a year old based on where it was.  I don't keep records, so far, memory serves ok as I'm not real particular, usually get it to within a month.
was ragging on the Diesel Unlimiteds a couple of weeks back and decided to be sure I still didn't like them, so had one from the other bottom Humi with not quite 2 years on it and it was great!  so, I am happy to say I was wrong.   amazing how these things supposedly "age" for 2 or 3 years before we buy them, but after even a month in a humi they change.  and after a year, most of the time a totally different profile.

So I bust my ass to get everything ready for a DR test, and the data guy says "databases will be ready for the test in the morning."  And that's just fine with everybody.  When I said "I'll get it set up for testing in the morning, everyone went ballistic.  No!  Must be done today.  Data guys basically said, "fuck all of you," and everyone's docile.

I should have stayed on the Data team.  I swear to God...
