When I was in 4th grade, I was watching the family moving into the house across the street.  I noticed a boy about my age sitting in the tree.  I walled over and said, "hey, what's you name..?"  The reply was, "Jamie."  I said, "hey, your a girl..!"  She said, "I know."  I said, "well get out of that tree, girls don't climb trees...!"

It seems like everything we did when I was a kid (50's and 60's) was just taken for granted.  Now it's probably all illegal. Jamie was the first tomboy I'd ever met.  It was like my world had been turned upside down.  And I can't even attempt to explain 1st grade and the girls on the monkey bars.
