As the Coaching Carousel spins into the postseason and silly season, various reports are beginning to surface over who will replace coach Steve Spurrier.
First off, a report from FOXSports claims Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart has emerged as the "frontrunner" for the job.
Smart has lead the Crimson Tide's defense for several years, including the years the Tide has won the national championship under coach Nick Saban.
Smart's name has been connected to the South Carolina job since the beginning, with many reports saying he already had interest in the job.
However, other reports indicate Houston head coach Tom Herman may be the new Gamecocks coach. Reports surfaced he had "agreed in principle" to become the coach in Columbia, but Athletics Director Ray Tanner refuted that report
