Good morning banter's.....
DAD!
How ya doing Shaun...?  Man, my wife has really been nice to me after I got her that car... :)
Doin pretty good sir - What did you end up getting?!??!!
It's a 2015 Honda Accord Sport.  We went in to get a Honda Civic, but at the last minute my wife suggested I try to sit in that passenger seat and I didn't fit.
LALTS!  I like the choice with the Accord - nice cars!
Sorry, but I'm happy.  I'll post it again.. :)
Better get all those lights checked out ;)
That's strange... There's a light for the lights.  They look like two eyes looking at ya..
Hahaha - really nice looking car Dad, CG87 Approved!
Thanks.. We waited a very long time and saved to get it.  We got it Friday.  We've been driving the hell out of it and I think we're already up to 54 miles...  And it appears that if you drive it like an old man, you'll get good mileage.  Or at least I'm getting 27.5 mpg, so I'm not so sure how old that makes me a driver..?
I do love the new mpgs, the wifes Subi Forester(hatchmack/crossover) gets 28 in city and 31-33 on the interstate(neutral wind)...damn near beats my 5speed Jetta!
Did you still end up getting it for just shy of 20k?
Well, not really...  That was the Toyota Corolla for 20k.  I did the TrueCar thing and printed out various certificates for Civics, but one was for the lower priced Accord LX $19,745.  He asked me if I knew the Sport was about $1,600 more than the LX, and if I would consider it?  So that ran it up to $21,345.  That sound reasonable, but without thinking about the sales tax, license, fees, it started to run up.  He also talked me into the extended 4yr warranty for $1,700.  So it has a 7yr bumper to bumper warranty.  I said I wouldn't get it, but when he started explaining about the $105 per hour shop fee, and all those video screens on the dash that could go out, it didn't sound so bad.  He said if I hit a pot hole and bent the rim of the wheel, it would cost around $900 to replace the tire and wheel.  Also, if I purchased it today, they would give me a 50% money back at 7 years if I don't need to use it. Well, I'm an old man, and I just tire of car repair bills, so I got it.  So just off the top of my head, I'd say it was about $25,000.  But I figure (hopefully) this will be the last new car I'll ever buy.  And at 63 years old, if the car last 10 to 15 years, this will probably be the only time I could enjoy it.

We have "safely" congregated in a large group in back of the parking garage. Hope no one decides to start a mass shooting out here.
Go ahead and pee in your pants just in case.

If the A/C compressor goes out during that time it would cost you that much or more these days, not a bad idea at all for you.   Last new car....... my dad said that when he was about 65 and holy shit did it cause nightmares by the time he was 80!

Of course I may buy a used car.  But I figure at the rate that cars are going up each year, an average car in 10 more years may be around $40 - $45,000.

Yeah. It seemed like others were having trouble so I tried to help them out by peeing on their pants. They didn't seem happy.

Now that would have been good, would have had to send you a big fat 60 RG Cigar for that act of courage.
