Good morning, children. Class is in session. Another commute day for me, followed by back-to-school night.
Morning, UpAtAllHoursTony.
Good morning, Dave. Sleep is for the weak.
Not fair. I'm weak, I want more sleep.
Trust me. I'm very weak. I want to play hooky.

This is followed by an away game on Saturday. And instead of being able to bring her home from that game, she's required to ride the bus back to the school where I pick her up. That seems highly unnecessary and time consuming.
That's standard operating procedure. I go through that every week. The good part is that they bond on the bus so it's not all bad.

Yeah, that part will be nice for her. I just wish one thing in my life involved less driving, not more. :D

I also have to take the wife's car to get an oil change and new tires on Saturday. She's heading to Columbus next week with the oldest, for some concert she desperately wanted to see. They assured me it would be done in time to get the youngest to the school for the bus. Sure hope they aren't wrong.

Literally the only good reason to have to go to one.

Liability issue.  They have to keep track off all the girls.  Hard with the flurry of activity after the game if a couple of parents pick their kids up,then a couple of boyfriends want to give them rides home, some are driving themselves, then you don't know who is where.

Yeah, I get the reason. Doesn't mean I'm not gonna bitch about it like a grumpy old man.

In 1978, Pacific Southwest Airlines Flight 182 crashed in San Diego after colliding with a small Cessna aircraft. The crash killed 144 people, including seven on the ground.

In 1981, Sandra Day O'Connor was sworn in as the first female U.S. Supreme Court justice.

In 2011, Saudi Arabian King Abdullah granted women the right to vote and run for local office in future elections, starting in 2015, but turned down a bid for them to be allowed to drive.

In 2018, a Pennsylvania judge sentenced actor Bill Cosby to three years to 10 years in state prison for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand more than a decade before. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his conviction and freed him from prison in June 2021.
