Don't know about you all but I'm STUNNED that a gun debate ended up like this.
It ended?
Time for Golf to hazzuh so there is no further dissent.
We still have almost 30 minutes left.  Don't short change me!
That's right, JWacky is the only part timer on the payroll.
And short changed?
You said it....
Just curious, would Dean be a no-timer or a two-timer?

Oh yeah we should talk about Cigars - Jam Day Tomorrow!  Maybe?  Does it matter?   Probably the latter I guess.

I inquired about the Don Salvatore hygrometer earlier, but either no one else has one or no one gives a rat's ass.  No matter.

I thought Tony responded but I am not at all familiar with them myself.

Haven't used one but any of the digital hygrometers we use are still incredibly cheap instruments given the accuracy of the information we want to get out of them. Outside of spending an incredible amount of money on a truly accurate hygrometer, I would guess it's as accurate as any other digital hygrometer on the market in this price range. So it's of course going to be better than any of the piece of garbage analog hygrometers out there but still, it's a low end digital version that looks better than anything put out by hygroset. I'm sure aesthetics are built in to that price. What is it's margin of error? How accurate is it? If it's within 2%, it's really no different than anything else sold from Famous or CI or wherever.

My personal favorites of all I've used are the ones by Xikar. I like the one button calibration which the Don Salvatore also appears to have. I hate that dumb dial on the hygrosets.

I also dislike the "ideal" markings of 70% rh since I feel "ideal" is whatever you prefer and also should be relative to ambient humidity where you live. I keep mine a bit drier since our humidity levels here are so low. My cigars don't burn as well the more humid they're kept.

So there's an opinion for ya but it's only that. I haven't actually used the Don Salvatore hygrometer.

This is what I have used for about the last 5 or 6 years (2 of them) with absolutely no problems, just change the battery once a year when I change the smoke alarm batteries.  Available at Walmart (in the hardware department) and Amazon for online service around $10 at either place.

LOL - humidity is like Celo!  I personally like 67-68% best , a little higher up to 70% is ok but sure don't like anything under 66%.

I found that humidity levels vary around my house, humi, and weather.  67% seems to give me the best tasting and best burning cigars.

That's about where I like it too.  I can go as low as 63%.  I used to keep it at 70% and found that it was way too wet.  TNWSS
