Sheesh, just the words Mon and Santo killed the damn banter.
LOL!
Gunbuyer.com has Colt A4 Flat Dark Earth mid lenght 20" for $869 with FS, that is not bad for a little higher quality AR.
Tombstone Tactical has DPMS for $731 Free Shipping
Kentucky Gun has Bushmaster A3 superlight carbine $619 Free Shipping but those bastiges charge 3% for using a CC, otherwise they are good.
Like the Colt for a 15. Actually, started looking for a .308. If money were no consideration, AR-10 SuperSass
Lots of .308 choices now in AR platforms. I actually own a new-in-the-box HK-91 I bought back in the day, 1984 to be exact.
I'd like all the banter brothers to weigh in if you care to share your knowledge and experience. If you had to choose only one of each, one handgun, one rifle and one shotgun for one's personal safety and hunting which 3 would you choose, keeping in mind value/price, reliability, ease of use, maintainence & security. Of interest also would be a decent number of rounds that it can hold without reloading and shooting long guns off of left shoulder. (right handed but opposite eye dominant), or so I've been told.
I only have shotguns, so I'll weigh in. Best and most reliable, IMO, with modification potential is a Remington 870. I have a 20 and 12 ga, both magnums, and have never had an issue - 20ga is 12years old and the 12 is 21yo). I really like my 11-87 for a Semi-Auto Remington, but unnecessary for home defense. I think they hold 7 rounds, would have to check - also get a neoprene side holder to add 4-6 extra shells close to your disposal.
I don't have a home defense weapon, just hunting shotguns with normal field specifications.

When I go deer hunting I use a Remington .270 pump and I love it, but I don't have enough experience to give a great review. I shot it a couple times on the range and once to kill a deer - worked at designed
