Good morning guys, excellent Xmas this year lots of fun. I hope everybody had much the same
I absolutely did.  FYI, the elf got moved before the kids woke up on Wednesday.  We were up till 4:AM wrapping and filling stockings on Christmas morning.  The kids were up at 7 and tore into everything within minutes.  Everyone had a great day!  I won't lie, the Cuban rum helped a lot.
I am really excited for the cuban rum with all of this embargo talk.  I am a big rum fan, but it doesn't get enough love - this should help!
Ditto.

More love means one thing - more demand.   More demand = more $.  Be careful what you ask for, I hate to think what kind of stupid prices will come with legal Cuban cigars, at least for a while.
And quality, since they already are average/good to begin with.  Hopefully the nostalgia for all of the non-serious smokers will wear off once it's something that's readily available.

IMHO some really Great sipping rums available from Guatemala now.  Just like cigars don't be wowed by the hard to get Cuban lore.
I have had Zaya, Appleton, and Zacapa - liked everything but the Appleton.  I hear Mount Gay is good, just need to try more.
Mount More Gays?
get out of here!

yep, until supply and demand force the quality to suffer.
:(
Quality is already suspect with a few exceptions.

I agree.  My wife is Cuban and it just sort of happened that two bottles of Havana Club Añejo (7 year and Reserva) made their way to my home.

Zacapa is really good stuff and Zaya is not far behind, never had the Appleton.  Had Mount Gay and yeah very good but overhyped IMHO.

Have a bottle of 7 year Havana Club for your next visit.  Ron del Barrilito from PR is always solid.

And don't get me wrong if it was sitting in my house I would certainly drink it and enjoy.

Morning muchachos. A belated Merry Christmas to you. The festivities of yesterday kept me from checking in with y'all. Hope the day was grand for you.
