Boy recently got a letter from Verizon that he owed them $2400 but he has never had an account of any kind with Verizon. Long story short somebody opened an account in his name and bought a couple of iPads and a few iPhones.    While it took a couple of hours and several phone calls they did get the problem resolved.

 This credit fraud chit is out of control.

No worry, Equifax is offering free background checks and a great plan for monitoring.  Why didn't they use it themselves?
