DE BLASIO SIGNS NEW YORK CITY TOBACCO TAX HIKE, PRICE FLOOR

Edit:  it is far more complicated and complex than anyone can imagine!

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio signed a variety of anti-tobacco bills including one that will raise the price of cigars in New York City.

It’s somewhat of a complex scenario, but smokers should expect to pay 80 cents extra per cigar. The new law requires that no cigar be sold for under $8 in New York City and that a 10 percent tax of the price floor, i.e. 80 cents, be paid.

Looks like we will have Tropical Storm Irma in the far eastern Atlantic this afternoon.

Well hell. Here I am up too late, half drunk, and pondering a $200k purchase of 31 acres. And y'all be sleeping.
I take it that it's prime pasture land? $6,500 an acre seems high to me, but what do I know, I live on less than $45,000 a year.

Big sales meeting on site today (maybe longer).  Visuals much better than usual and not a yoga pant to be seen.

No relief from the treatment?  Sorry to hear that.
In any case, good morning Dean.

I like this part:

Smoking will be prohibited in common areas and all buildings with three or more units will be required to having a smoking disclosure policy.

Finally, pharmacies will no longer be able to sell tobacco products. There are more than 550 pharmacies in the city that currently do so. This will be phased out as their biennial tobacco license expires and is up for renewal, beginning next year.

Help me with my Mash-math here if you would...
If a 10 pack of Nica Rustica El Brujito goes for 33.98, why does a 25 count bundle go for 89.98?  $5 packaging and label?
