So yesterday the WA State Capitol campus went on lockdown. Rumors swirled of an active shooter. Today they announce there was no evidence to be found of shots fired or a gunman.
Somebody musta farted too loud or something.
Why are they worried? That's a gun free zone, isn't it?
No. WA government buildings cannot generally be gun-free zones unless they feature a courtroom or provide secure gun-check facilities. They can forbid open carry, which they classify as display, but not concealed carry.
