Morning, muchachos.
Morning Raz
Howdy, Tex. All my friends were jumping on that S&W deal over the weekend. I was sorely tempted, but my next 9mm is going to be a Glock 19, and I have enough Cabela's points that it'd cost me the same cash outlay as the Shield. So I managed to resist temptation.
The Shields best price range 6 months ago was $379-399 so that is a great deal. One of the better feeling guns for its small size. I scream BS on Bean's suggestion of jamming being a wide spread issue, I have read a dozen or more professional reviews and not a single one indicated any significant issue regarding function, one did bring one up but found the damn thing had never been lubed and was dry as a bone. My son has fired a few hundred rounds through his and never a failure to cycle, only feeds it Speer Ammo. That said every maker has a bad one get out once in a while and as long as they take care of it then that is just real life. S&W actually has a pretty damn good warranty program.
I bought a brand new Colt .357 Python back in the late 70's and the damn thing had a .38 special cylinder in it. Colt was quite embarrassed but took care of it, just wish I had not gotten bored with it and sold the damn thing.
