The guys I gave boxes to for Christmas have each smoked one and gave it rave reviews, but none of those guys have terribly refined palates (including my dad) so I don't put much stock in their raves. I kept a box for myself, but I'm going to give it a few weeks rest before I try one.
I thought I was jumping on the bandwagon. There was a significant amount of coverage here, so I bought some to try.

If it's made the same way, from the same variety of grapes, it's Champagne...not that I particularly care what anyone calls it. French grapes were wiped out by blight, and were replaced by grapes from the US, specifically California.
