There will pretty much be radio silence from me today. I'll be driving to our Westchester office and then I'll be down in a basement conference room all day with no phone reception.

I hear ya. I don't think it'll work for me either because I have a very similar schedule. Just thought I'd ask because I'll be in the Lebanon office that day. My boys practice flag football twice a week and games are on Saturday. Then there's soccer...

I BOUGHT a 5er of the maddies at the Wooden Match one year based on Dalek's recommendation. I honestly think I gave them all away and don't recall smoking a single one. La Aurora stuff has never really done much for me.

Raising a championship banner for the first time in 50+ years is nice, but so is getting a free Oliva O. So it may be a toss-up.

I'm not really sure how that all ended up panning out. I'm pretty sure he said Romo would win another Super Bowl before anything else happened in the NFL.

Indeed. And I don't even think it was side boob, I think it was underboob. Like the bikini top wasn't sized right, they kept falling out the bottom.

You're exactly right, it was underboob. Her top basically rode up the entire time, exposing a good portion of her LNR (lower nipple region)

I wonder which event you'll find more satisfying
Raising a championship banner for the first time in 50+ years is nice, but so is getting a free Oliva O. So it may be a toss-up.
You forgot the broccoli rabe sausage!
You're right, that tips the scales.
I take it the booth girls don't help CF's cause.
Did a little bit last year at the Daniel Marshall event
That's true, there was that one really tall one last year whose dress didn't come down nearly far enough.
You're forgetting the smaller one with the tattoos, ill-fitting dress also, plenty of side boob...any of this ringing a bell, bro?
I was JUST about to mention that one, too. The one that Charlie had to give a wadrobe malfunction warning to, right?
Exactly, I noticed the nip-slip and whether or not is was creepy or being of service to mention it to her
I think we did the gentlemanly thing of telling her, after taking adequate time to observe it and debate the issue.  8)
It's great when you start a conversation this way: "Excuse me, I hope this isn't creepy but..."
Lol, I'm sure it was the least creepy thing she heard all night.
Good point

There will pretty much be radio silence from me today. I'll be driving to our Westchester office and then I'll be down in a basement conference room all day with no phone reception.
So use the computer...it's not like they are going to fire you.

These La Auroras depress me when I see them on the jam, has anyone smoked one? I think I get them at CF? Never tried
I BOUGHT a 5er of the maddies at the Wooden Match one year based on Dalek's recommendation. I honestly think I gave them all away and don't recall smoking a single one. La Aurora stuff has never really done much for me.
Same with me.  I've tried a number of different offerings, just not a line that has the profile for me.

Today is Thursday, Sept. 15, the 259th day of 2016. There are 107 days left in the year.

Today's Highlight in History:

On Sept. 15, 1963, four black girls were killed when a bomb went off during Sunday services at the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. (Three Ku Klux Klansmen were eventually convicted for their roles in the blast.)

On this date:

In 1789, the U.S. Department of Foreign Affairs was renamed the Department of State.

In 1807, former Vice President Aaron Burr was acquitted of a misdemeanor charge two weeks after he was found not guilty of treason.

In 1857, William Howard Taft - who served as President of the United States and as U.S. chief justice - was born in Cincinnati, Ohio.

In 1890, English mystery writer Agatha Christie was born in Torquay.

In 1935, the Nuremberg Laws deprived German Jews of their citizenship.

In 1940, during the World War II Battle of Britain, the tide turned as the Royal Air Force inflicted heavy losses upon the Luftwaffe.

In 1950, during the Korean conflict, United Nations forces landed at Incheon in the south and began their drive toward Seoul (sohl).

In 1955, the novel "Lolita," by Vladimir Nabokov, was first published in Paris.

In 1972, a federal grand jury in Washington indicted seven men in connection with the Watergate break-in.

In 1981, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted unanimously to approve the Supreme Court nomination of Sandra Day O'Connor.

In 1994, a tape recording of John Lennon singing with his teen-age band, The Quarrymen, in a Liverpool club on July 6, 1957, was sold at Sotheby's for $122,500 (it was at this gig that Lennon first met Paul McCartney).

In 2000, the 2000 Summer Olympics opened in Sydney, Australia, with a seemingly endless parade of athletes and coaches and a spectacular display; Aboriginal runner Cathy Freeman ignited an Olympic ring of fire.

Ten years ago: Ford Motor Co. took drastic steps to remold itself into a smaller, more competitive company, slashing thousands of jobs and closing down two additional plants. U.S. Rep. Bob Ney, R-Ohio, agreed to plead guilty to two criminal charges in the congressional corruption probe spawned by disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff. (Ney served nearly a year and a-half of a 2-1/2-year prison sentence.) Italian journalist Oriana Fallaci died in Florence at age 77.

Five years ago: President Barack Obama bestowed the Medal of Honor on Sgt. Dakota Meyer, a young and humble Marine who had defied orders and repeatedly barreled straight into a ferocious "killing zone" in Afghanistan to save 36 lives at extraordinary risk to himself. A single rogue trader at Swiss banking giant UBS was arrested after allegedly costing the storied institution an estimated $2 billion. (Kweku Adoboli was later convicted of fraud and served about half of a seven-year sentence.)

One year ago: Hungary sealed off its border with Serbia with massive coils of barbed wire and began detaining migrants trying to use the country as a gateway to Western Europe, harsh new measures that left thousands of frustrated asylum-seekers piled up on the Serbian side of the border. Malcolm Turnbull was sworn in as the new prime minister of Australia after his conservative Liberal Party colleagues voted for him to replace Tony Abbott as the nation's leader.

I thought he was getting a check from the County Government which would not represent a real job in any way other than getting paid.

True, but he has to be there 9-5, wear work clothes (even a tie I think), no morning trips to the liquor store and no afternoons off when the boss goes to play golf, so a definite change in perspective.

Thought for Today: "I think the greatest curse of American society has been the idea of an easy millennialism - that some new drug, or the next election or the latest in social engineering will solve everything." - Robert Penn Warren, American poet (born 1905, died this date in 1989).

So, I settled my lawsuit. Now I'm having to figure out how to allocate the money. Retiring the last of my debt (except the mortgage), but that isn't much. Some allocated for work on the house.

The rest goes into investments - effectively will more than double my portfolio. Ay, caramba.

I'm probably going to go the Tex route and have the work done. I have the patience, I have the wherewithal, and I have the friends to help. But I still have two jobs, a band, and a fledgling real estate investment venture. So it's time that's in short supply. I need to devote my work toward making money.

No taxes on the settlement. Income generated by investing it will be taxable, but not the settlement itself. And I may take $75K structured, which converts it to a tax-free investment. Still running the numbers on that.
