Morning Genderless Jammers, good to see CI did not include some offensive so called "Joe" today.

Took a day off yesterday, slept in and did some home improvement shopping (carpet and kitchen faucet) with the warden and had a nice Mexican seafood lunch along the way. Took a 2-hour nap when finished. All with No Cuddling!
Also a little Cigar Auction activity yesterday making some quality buys on LFD's and La Haciendas.

Today is Saturday, Aug. 20, the 233rd day of 2016. There are 133 days left in the year.
Today's Highlight in History:
On Aug. 20, 1866, months after fighting in the Civil War had ended, President Andrew Johnson issued Proclamation 157, which declared that "peace, order, tranquility, and civil authority now exist in and throughout the whole of the United States of America."
On this date:
In 1833, Benjamin Harrison, 23rd president of the United States, was born in North Bend, Ohio.
In 1882, Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture" had its premiere in Moscow.
In 1914, German forces occupied Brussels, Belgium, during World War I.
In 1940, during World War II, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill paid tribute to the Royal Air Force before the House of Commons, saying, "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few." Exiled Communist revolutionary Leon Trotsky was assassinated in Coyoacan, Mexico by Ramon Mercader. (Trotsky died the next day.)
In 1953, the Soviet Union publicly acknowledged it had tested a hydrogen bomb.
In 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Economic Opportunity Act, a nearly $1 billion anti-poverty measure.
In 1968, the Soviet Union and other Warsaw Pact nations began invading Czechoslovakia to crush the "Prague Spring" liberalization drive.
In 1972, the Wattstax concert took place at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
In 1977, the U.S. launched Voyager 2, an unmanned spacecraft carrying a 12-inch copper phonograph record containing greetings in dozens of languages, samples of music and sounds of nature.
In 1986, postal employee Patrick Henry Sherrill went on a deadly rampage at a post office in Edmond, Oklahoma, shooting 14 fellow workers to death before killing himself.
In 1989, entertainment executive Jose Menendez and his wife, Kitty, were shot to death in their Beverly Hills mansion by their sons, Lyle and Erik. Fifty-one people died when a pleasure boat sank in the River Thames (tehmz) in London after colliding with a dredger.
In 1994, Benjamin Chavis Jr. was fired as head of the NAACP after a turbulent 16-month tenure.
Ten years ago: John Mark Karr, the suspect in the death of 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey, sipped champagne and dined on fried king prawns in business class of Thai Airways as he was flown to the U.S. (Although he'd implicated himself in JonBenet's slaying, Karr was later cleared.) Former Associated Press photographer Joe Rosenthal, who'd taken the iconic Iwo Jima flag-raising picture during World War II, died in Novato, California, at age 94. Tiger Woods won the PGA Championship, closing with a 4-under 68 for a 5-shot victory over Shaun Micheel and his 12th career major.
Five years ago: Israel issued a rare apology for the deaths of three Egyptian soldiers who were killed during a cross-border attack blamed on Palestinians. North Korean leader Kim Jong Il arrived in Russia's Far East on a nearly weeklong visit. Jordyn Wieber won her first title at the U.S. gymnastics championships in St. Paul, Minnesota, in a rout, finishing with 121.30 points, 6.15 points ahead of McKayla Maroney.
One year ago: With a broad smile and an upbeat attitude, former President Jimmy Carter told a news conference in Atlanta that he had cancer in his brain, and felt "perfectly at ease with whatever comes." (In March 2016, Carter announced that recent scans had shown no signs of cancer and that he no longer needed to receive doses of an immune-boosting drug.)

I posted a bit about the FDA court ruling that labels did not constitute a champ he in cigars but here is a little more I found from that ruling and it is absolutely bizarre to any logic.
That little finding on "legislative rule" is pretty bizarre also.
Now I have to wonder if this might have an effect on breaking down boxes to 5 paks or 10 paks, etc.....
On the other hand, the court did uphold that changes to product quantity in packaging does constitute a new tobacco product. For example, if a cigar company wants to change from 20 count to 10 count boxes, it would require FDA approval through Substantial Equivalence.
In the ruling, the court concluded that “..under the TCA (Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act), a modification to an existing product’s label does not result in a ‘new tobacco product’ and therefore such a label change does not give rise to the Act’s substantial equivalence review process. Accordingly, the FDA’s Guidance as it relates to labeling changes is contrary to the law and cannot stand. On the other hand, the court concludes that a change to an existing product’s quantity does result in a “new tobacco product” and therefore does trigger the Act’s substantial equivalence review process. The court further finds that the FDA’s Guidance is not a legislative rule and thus was not subject to the demands of notice-and-comment rulemaking. Accordingly, in regards to quantity change, the court concludes that the Guidance need not be vacated.”

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Another storm system is on the way, promising still more rain and possible flooding. A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for much of the area, including Travis county, until 7 p.m. Sunday evening.
The focus of this system appears to be the Hill Country, as two of our high resolution weather models do not bring much rain at all to Austin until early Sunday morning, but indicate 6-8 inches just west of the Austin metro area in the Hill Country.
Guess I better start thinking about getting my mowing done!

LMFAO, FUCT for telling the truth is the best way to describe this.
An Austin police officer was suspended Aug. 17 after posting a Facebook status in March calling David Joseph, the unarmed, black, naked 17-year-old fatally shot by an officer in February, a “drop out drug using, neighborhood terrorizing, naked guy."
In a memo obtained by CBS Austin, police chief Art Acevedo wrote that Detective Jason Chiappardi would be suspended from duty for three days for his actions on March 21.

No, that intention is realized by all the nonsense that goes on there now. Originally, I believe it was just a school project, not a commie-filled hippie propaganda machine, as Tex might say. Afternoon, DaveMike.

Yes, tedious is a good adjective for 1/2 of what's posted on FB. Another 20% is blatant narcissism and 20% is advertising, leaving 10% fun and worthwhile content. Not enough to keep me engaged.

Yes, tedious is a good adjective for 1/2 of what's posted on FB. Another 20% is blatant narcissism and 20% is advertising, leaving 10% fun and worthwhile content. Not enough to keep me engaged.
And on that FB topic:
Facebook’s “Trending Topics” section is at it again. Saturday morning the site ran a headline in the section declaring, “Colin Powell: Former Secretary of State Confirms He Recommended Using Personal Email to Hillary Clinton.” The only problem is Powell made no such declaration and he denied Clinton’s claim.

Holy chit batman! That much rain would wash half of Austin off the map.
AUSTIN (KXAN) — Weather models are indicating a very significant rainfall event in parts of South Central Texas overnight into early Sunday. The amounts of rain may exceed 10 inches in some locations in the Hill Country and Interstate 35 Corridor, with some forecast models suggesting up to 24 inches.
While it is too early to tell exactly where the highest totals will be, confidence is high in potentially dangerous flooding overnight. Rain totals this high could lead to not only creek and low water crossing flooding, but widespread river flooding that may threaten homes and businesses.

Heading up to John's for the evening myself.

Yeah, I'm a strange smoker. I don't smoke during the week as an effort to control myself and it just doesn't fit into my life, then on the weekends I smoke as many as I can

A binge smoker.
Bought a box of La Hacienda Robustos on the Famous bid last night for $120, not a steal but a good deal.
Damn, you were busy smoking!
