And then we have a wanna-be dictator on tv every 15 minutes telling us don't worry it is all safe there are no credible threats.

Just the wife and I along with my daughter and mother and possibly one brother. The wife and I have never had the chance to do the Thanksgiving meal since we were usually between the two I law houses but neither was up to cooking this year so bigges critic may be my mom and totally new recipes for the dishes. I am curious to see if she will pick up on the apple shine glaze for the ham that I did.

we have not been to the lighthouse yet. had to try and find a place for turkey dinner for toda, 45 minutes in rush hour traffic just to be told we could not do take out today for tomorrows menu, so that's where we eat tomorrow. then we hit an adult store on the way out (highlight of the day), thought we were doing lighthouse but ended up downtown doing shops, fort, walking to the point that the lady is in so much pain she can't move......but she thought I wanted to see all that AGAIN.
so, maybe, I get to climb the lighthouse today.

Not yet, but I'm still watching.  There's supposed to be a buy $200 and get $100 off.  I was sort of looking for that one.  But I bought about 20 cigars last week, and I'm not sure how much humidor space I'll have if I get crazy and buy more.  That 601 sampler looked like a great deal earlier, but I'm not much of a 601 fan.  But I do like an occasional 601 blue.

Damn, cooking Thanksgiving dinner by yourself sucks.  I have no idea how my mom used to do it for 18 - 22 people each year.  I have to keep doing dishes and drying them just to have bowls and such.  I've been cooking non-stop since around 8:30 a.m. and I'm still not done.  But of course I'm doing it all with a bbq grill and a toaster oven.  So far I'm made a Turkey, Pumpkin Pie, Sweet Potatoes, and I still have the Green Bean Casserole, Stuffing, Cranberries (easy), and Rolls yet to do.  Not much longer, then dinner and the big clean up.

Turkey Smoke smells mighty good!
Is that a smoker or a fryer?
Lord I hope the hell it is not a fryer with all that smoke!  It is a smoker loaded with pecan wood.
Nice!  Enjoy it.  Time to get back into the kitchen.  See yuz.
Watcha fixin' Chef BoyarScarpa?
I made a brie en croûte, bacon wrapped dates, and spinach & artichoke dip for appetizers.  Mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, roasted brussels sprouts, and sauteed mushrooms for side dishes to the turkey my mother-in-law brought over.

They were actually my favorite part.  Figured if I filled up on them, I'd have less room for the fattening stuff. They really were delicious.  Lots of garlic and olive oil and threw a bunch of apple chunks in there to give them some sweetness.

Evening from the Mountain Time zone, amigos. Nice Thanksgiving with the in-laws, but nothing remotely alcoholic, unless you count the cold meds I'm downing.

Back at the MIL's now, and I picked up a fifth of Can Club. Now my long day is ending.

You cleaned up on the cigars!  Glad you had a nice day, yeah we had a nice peaceful day wit too much food.
I've nevered purchased from them before, tired of CI, CCom, Famous, Atlantic, J&R. hopefully they will continue to be friendly.
I made a couple of purchases from them last week and service was very good.  Hope they keep,up the good offerings.  Only negative is having to check things out immediately or lose your stuff rather than checkout at the end of the day for everything.
Notification says you have 20 minutes to check out completely.
