I know, I know.  Why a rum from Barbados while in the Virgin Islands?  Don't question, just sip and enjoy.

Evening, ,Tony.  So glad you were able to find some decent cigars to enjoy on your vakay.
I wasn't able to get one in today.  Thursday, a buddy (NoVA Dave who was with Gene & I at C-fest) gave me a La Historia ... my first.
It was good, but became even better in the last inch.

Earlier, I received a CI e-mail for a deal on Dunhill cigars, but there were also two minor deals, one of which was a funky Mama vitola of the Diesel Unlimited ... i have to say that got me hankering for one of those cigars.  But it's a little too late now ... I have no balcony, porch or patio ... would have to sit on a park bench under a street light, which might appear a little strange at 1:11am

I have just discovered the formula for a Redskin victory: Do not turn on the game. Go to bed when evening chores are finished. Say bedtime prayers, then fall asleep.  Wake up to use bathroom after game is over. Turn on 11pm news to find that Washington wins.
Hear post game press conference with Coach being asked questions mostly about RGIII ... Turn TV off or to another channel.

That's some ritual but I'd be curious how that works out for you over the course of the season.  ;)

I'll see if I kept it.  Met a really pretty waitress that night, seemed to be upset about something ... I helped her move a table, and opened the door (from the patio a couple times when her hands were full from clearing tables).  She ended up sitting down at my table (other guys had left), just to take a break and talk.  She grabbed my hand a couple times, just to hold it ... hmmmm ... I shouldn't delude myself, maybe she misses her grandpa (lol) ... but still there were a few things that happened that made me think differently ... plus she didn't seem to object to cigar smoking or beer drinking!!!

Rigorous Exercise for Over 60
-------------------------

Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room
at each side. With a 5-lb potato sack in each hand, extend your arms
straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can. Try to
reach a full minute, and then relax. Each day you'll find that you can hold
this position for just a bit longer.

After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-lb potato sacks. Then try 50-lb
potato sacks and then eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-lb
potato sack in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full
minute. (I'm at this level.)

After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each of the sacks.

See what happens when Tony finally gets a cigar and some rum?....he becomes almost sociable, posts often, good conversations....
I might need his help in October for my vacation coming up.
Yeah just have him put a call in for you.

You going on a trip?
First real vacation in about 8 years, headed to Gatlinburg the second week of October with the sis in law and her husband.
Sounds good.  Anything specific on the agenda?
Other than the SIL? ;D
She starts a new job next week so I will have to see her when she gets breaks from her new job at a local school; hopefully one last visit this Thursday before its curtains on our Thursday lunch dates.
You may need professional help following that change of life! :D
I already need that kind of help but maybe she won't cancel out on me this Thursday, I already have the warden going to look for a dress for her so she will have something new to start her new job off with so maybe even the warden will make her show up this one last time.

Burning the cellophane was part of the nightly ritual for the grand kids to gather round Graddad's big green glass ashtray.  The cellophane tube would fill with smoke which would pour out the open end.  When you're a little kiddo anything to do with fire and smoke is fascinating.  Just don't make cellophane like they used to.

Don't let Mom catch you playing with fire.
I took matches into the bathroom when I was a kid and figured that the fart fan would help keep my cover.  I think I got a little overzealous with the hair spray and burned the toilet seat.  Mom made me pay her $30 for a new one even though she never replaced it.  Even 35 years later a toilet seat doesn't cost that much.  She fucking ripped me off!  Oh yeah, I got my ass beat too.

Mikey, can you tell us the story behind the pictures, especially the one with the ashtray?  Looks like an extinguisher was needed.
Ashton ashtray, Rocky Patel table and the featured smoke of the day represented by the Ashton ESG 24 year perfecto seegar band.  Ashton courtesy of Craig/TruDog.

Very cool.  I see the Ashton on the left but it looks like a crack pipe on the right.  Or a burned plastic tube.
WTF is that thing?
Partially burned cigar cellophane.
OK, I usually remove the cello before lighting but guess someone has taken cello on or off to a new level.
Fun with fire is not limited to little kids I still appreciate it, never lit a cello but now I got to try it. :)

Scorch marks on the toilet seat, now that could make for some interesting stories.  Did you repeat that experiment in your home?

No sir.  I stopped lighting up aerosol cans years ago.
Evening men.  My little country elementary school used to burn it's trash, and the "older" kids rotated trash collecting duty in pairs.  My trash partner and I discovered an aerosol can in the trash from the office.  He was a mischevious bastige and said "let's leave it in the fire pit, see what happens".  Well, it exploded, showering burning debris in a 30 ft radius, setting the dry pine needles on fire.  The fire department had to be called to extinguish the approx. 1/2 acre brush fire which resulted.  Needless to say we stopped burning the trash.

Of course not.  We plead ignorance about the can being in the trash.  But damn, sure was a sight!
