Happy Tuesday! In between insults we'll occasionally discuss cigars. Join in and perhaps learn something along the way. Warning: don't proceed if you have thin skin but don't be afraid to post either... And welcome aboard!

Morning, twofers.
Good morning, DaveDave.

We've been in the 80s the last 3 days (much to my wife's chagrin), but a front came through overnight with a little rain and that seems to be the end of the run. Only two days over the next month with a high in the 70s. Hopefully still a little fall golf in my future.

We've got that heat now. I had to turn the a/c back on last evening. We're expecting the cold front tomorrow. May need to work from outside today so that I can enjoy a cigar.

Commute days on Wednesday and Friday this week. Sandwiches were made and drop-offs too. Just getting the vehicle gassed up so that I can get back home and begin the work day.

How often would you say you have to wait at the gas station to get filled up? It almost never happens here unless it's a really busy area, but I'm wondering if there's much difference not being able to do it yourself.

It depends. For example, this morning I went straight to the pump because there was no line. I waited about 45 seconds for the attendant to walk over.

If one goes at a busier time of day, you could be waiting 5 minutes / or 10 at Costco because the lines are generally longer, but they move.

I just got off the phone with GoDaddy. I noticed some random charges for "support". I just about lost my shit and shut down the website on the spot. Turns out that the person on the phone didn't know what he was talking about (shocker), and the charge was for extended support of outdated software, which makes more sense. I just paid for it so that we can continue this ride into the sunset. Trying to upgrade outdated software just doesn't make sense right now.

She is shown at a pump with water running into one hand while alphabet motions on her other hand (by teacher Anne Sullivan) spell "w-a-t-e-r." Keller went on to become a world-famous speaker and author of a dozen books.
In 2023, the Israel Defense Forces declared the country at war and launched large-scale military operations against Gaza after Hamas militants launched a surprise attack on Israeli land. During the attack, Hamas killed more than 1,200 people and took some 250 people hostages. Two years later, the Israel-Hamas war is ongoing.

Don't know if you saw the football game last night. Very entertaining with lots of wild plays. 99 yard pick 6 and last play of the game had QB Trevor Lawrence on his birthday get his foot stepped on by his lineman, stumble, fall down twice then get up and stagger into the end zone for a game winning TD. Worth googling.

I saw a bit of it last night, was definitely a good game. I went to bed before it ended but saw the winning play this morning. Unreal stuff.

Fun fact - this was the first time Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts all lost in the same week.

I always figured if I achieved a net worth of a million bucks, I'd be rich. I guess not. My advisors say I'm halfway to where I need to be for retirement, if I don't want to become a Walmart greeter. I'm not sure I'm going to make it in five to seven more years.

My sister said something similar, and now she's due to retire in June. It'll go quickly, if you're lucky. The alternative is not so bright.

It's just such a weird thing to realize one is technically a millionaire, but it doesn't mean anything.

I just meant that 5-7 years will go by in a flash. The amount of money is another issue. I'm definitely not in a good position to retire in 15 or so years. I may have to relocate to Vietnam.
