Simple Logic
-------------------------

A 2006 study found that the average American walks about 900 miles a year.

Another recent study found that Americans drink an average of 22 gallons of beer a year.

That means, on average, Americans get about 41 miles per gallon.

Not Bad.

Well, it was the one I chose, so I guess a bit of both. Not ideal, but it gets me out in time to pick up the kids from school, and I get 3 days off, including the weekend. So tomorrow is actually gonna be the last regular Saturday for me. In PA next weekend, then start the new schedule when I get back.

Easy for Fish to say, He will have Nate all to himself.
Maybe next year we just need a 2 BR house
Seriously, who are we kidding? Tell Andy I'll be the big spoon, bro.
May have to start calling you "The Ladle"...Bro

Good Morning LSU & Golf.
Morning, Dave.
Will you still be coming in early when you change schedules?
Yep, I'll be here at 4am.
So is that the good boy reward schedule change or the bad boy punishment schedule?
Well, it was the one I chose, so I guess a bit of both. Not ideal, but it gets me out in time to pick up the kids from school, and I get 3 days off, including the weekend. So tomorrow is actually gonna be the last regular Saturday for me. In PA next weekend, then start the new schedule when I get back.
Great, once you get past the fact that you have to be there at fucking 4AM! Who does that?

Bruce's Twisted History
For Jun 5:  Top News of the Day:

Theodore and Simon, were not given ships.

In 1989 - The Tank Man halts the progress of a column of advancing tanks for
over half an hour after the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989. ~ There is no
reliable information about the identity or fate of the tank man. I've always wondered.
 This man had guts.

In Other News:

In 1851 - Harriet Beecher Stowe's anti-slavery serial, Uncle Tom's Cabin, or
Life Among the Lowly, starts a ten-month run in the National Era abolitionist newspaper.

In 1933 - The U.S. Congress abrogates the United States' use of the gold
standard by enacting a joint resolution (48 Stat. 112) nullifying the right
of creditors to demand payment in gold. ~ Money becomes a total fiat currency.

In 1947 - Marshall Plan: In a speech at Harvard University, the United States
Secretary of State George Marshall calls for economic aid to war-torn Europe.
~ The US could not afford to take care of domestic issues but could spend $13
billion ($148 bilion in 2013 dollars) in foreign aid.

In 1956 - Elvis Presley introduces his new single, "Hound Dog", on The Milton
Berle Show, scandalizing the audience with his suggestive hip movements.

In 1967 - The Six-Day War begins: Israel launches surprise strikes against
Egyptian air-fields in response to the mobilization of Egyptian forces on the Israeli border.

In 1968 - Robert F. Kennedy, a U.S. presidential candidate, is shot at the Ambassador
Hotel in Los Angeles, by Sirhan Sirhan, a Palestinian. Kennedy dies the next day.

I swear this is true, and I hope it's not offensive.  Years ago the Fox Theatre in St. Louis presented the broadway production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.  Later through local news interviews, it turned out that 6 of the brothers in the play were gay and the 7th brother was black.  The people of St. Louis started changing the name of the play from, "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers to Seven Brides for 6 Homo's and a Homiy."

I hear yuh.  The cushiness of modern living has made most of the earth's population thin-skinned.  It's gotten worse since Frank Zappa died.  Since we can't count on our artists to keep the pressure on anymore - after all, they gotta eat - it falls to us uncelebrated old farts to do the offending.  After all, they can't fire us.

Frank Zappa... :)  I guess it's been 20 years since I've listen to one of his records.

Jaws— turns 40 years old on June 20. And many of us haven't felt safe enough to go back in the water yet. :).  Watched Jaws last night, damn thing is still scary!
what were you expecting - "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers"?
good morning all.
Elsewhere that would be offensive.  Here?  It's a fart in hurricane.

I had to look up the word, "Vanadium."  (just one of it's meanings other than it's on the element table)
Vanadium occurs naturally in about 65 different minerals and in fossil fuel deposits. It is produced in China and Russia from steel smelter slag; other countries produce it either from the flue dust of heavy oil, or as a byproduct of uranium mining. It is mainly used to produce specialty steel alloys such as high-speed tool steels. The most important industrial vanadium compound, vanadium pentoxide, is used as a catalyst for the production of sulfuric acid.

I have plenty to drink, just not good whiskey.  My wife caught a clearance sale at work and bought 2 1.75 J&B Scotch for $11 each.  1 1.75 Tequila, 2 Jack Daniels Apple whiskey, and a few bottles of wine.  I think I only have about 3 beers left too which is bad.

Happy Friday all! First paycheck arrived today!!!
Cause for celebration, break out the good cigars and the whiskey!
Damn, I'm really low on good whiskey.  I may have to get out of the house after all..!
See, there is your problem right there.  List to jwacky, and only buy good whiskey,
and copious amount of it, and you won't get low on it.

1 bourbon, 1 scotch and 1 beer
Now your talking...!  The first time I heard George Thorogood, it was on the radio in my car, and I immediately pulled into a record shop and bought his album.  The thing same happened after listening to a full sided album by Rare Earth entitled Get Ready while buying some papers in a head shop...  Oh yeal, the same thing happened after leaving a Disco Tech and I heard Donna Summers full sided album entitled, "A Love Trilogy." I couldn't stop playing, "Try me i know we can make it."

Just getting on the road back to Fargo. I think the wife and I are going to go to RibFest tonight.
I might need to check some websites and buy a celebratory cigar box.
Sounds like a party..!

Well played-I think some HUpmann Mag50s sound lovely.

Happy Friday all! First paycheck arrived today!!!
Time to buy us cigars, then.
Here's an interesting cigar mashing.  It is a cigar, right...?

Compounds, Elements, and Musings Vanadium 5 Pack $22.98

Wrapper: Undisclosed
Strength: Undisclosed
Shape: Other

The Periodic Table shows nature's variety at its most basic and extraordinary. Each element presents a unique combination with its own distinct properties. Inspired by this rich variety, Foundry Cigars created Compounds, Elements, and Musings as a study in contrasts and complexity. By combining tobaccos chosen from all over the world, now you can discover a range of distinctive blends (all undisclosed) in these VERY AFFORDABLE cigars with some of the coolest bands, too. Order some now!
True, some of them are pretty interesting cigars.  Kind of all over the place like Gurkha's, so hit or miss.  Interesting presentations and especially interesting boxes on some.  Some only available B&M, others only through distributors.  Definitely not cheap.  More marketing ploy than anything...

Like cigars, always need to maintain the buffer stock.  Time to replenish when you are about to tap into the buffer, not after it's half gone.

Sprockets are indeed cool, those cigars are not.
You ought to go for one of the Macanudo vintage lines that has metal bands that could pass as napkin rings .

I had those at one point, part of a sampler of some sort.  Guess they weren't all that memorable, 'cause I don't remember.

Happy Friday CG glad to have you back with us again.
Amen! Just riding back to Fargo-slightly less than 2 hrs to go.
How are you driving and posting on the banter...?  Did you take a taxi...?
I traveled with some coworkers, making one of the girls drive home
Tell her, "Bad Dad says hi...!"  :)
Ohh god!
LOL..!!  I tell my 6 year old granddaughter to tell her teacher I said hi, and she does everything she can to avoid saying no and not hurt my feelings...

Don't assume they aren't monitoring the traffic, though.
That's what I need to double check-hope they aren't. I'll still lay low for a few weeks
Just take a spare laptop or tablet to work and tether it on your smartphone.
True-I'll prob use my phone for a while and slowly increase my internet browsing scope and check with coworkers.
And don't you know they are watching the new people's traffic.  Gotta weed out the jihadists right off the bat.
Or if it is like Golfs outfit they have to verify the jihadists commitment.

Hmmm, normally I'd say keep them, but 40+ yrs sitting in a glove box, probably not.  Just leave them on a park bench somewhere and watch from a safe distance while the swat team descends on the area and cordons off the place.

I know about Kendra because I remember her being in Playboy magazine.  But what can I say, "I've been a Playboy and Hugh Hefner fan ever since I was 8 years old."  The advantages of having a brother 10 years older than me.

I think they give out great marital advice.  And when you've been married as long as I have, you need all of the good advice you can get.  As far as Dancing with the Stars, they have allot of good music and fantastic looking hot women. I though Susan Summers was great, but I'm the only one..  She's 60 years old, still hot, and rich as hell.
