Any cigar deals on the various internet sites that are worth talking about? Join in this discussion and perhaps learn something along the way.  Be warned, post on this site and you will catch hell from members and trolls alike.  Therefore, don't proceed if you have thin skin.  If you can accept all that, light a cigar, pour a drink and welcome aboard!

Good morning guys.
Good morning, Chip.
Saw your history lesson on 1/22 and was shocked to see that LBJ died at age 64 ... hits too close to home.
Never thought of him as elderly, but certainly as an elder statesman, regardless of any other personal opinions about him.  Aside from that, had a nice Punch Uppercut large toro this evening with some Johnny Walker Double Black on the rocks.  Cigar was really good, but got pretty intense/strong in the last two inches.  When I got home, I needed some time to let my stomach settle before going to bed.  About ready to turn it in now.  Tried reading up on yesterday's banter on both sites.  Now the CI Banter is still inaccessible, at least from my computer.  Heading to bed now.  Last snow storm didn't really bring us much (more in NJ), but this next one starting tomorrow evening into Monday should be more productive.  Anything between 1-3 inches really messes up traffic here in the DC Metro area.
So, good night, and good Sunday to you and all.

Great Writer
-------------------------

There was once a young man who, in his youth, professed his desire
to become a great writer.

When asked to define great, he said, "I want to write stuff that
the whole world will read, stuff that people will react to on a
truly emotional level, stuff that will make them scream, cry, howl
in pain and anger!"

He now works for Microsoft writing error messages.

Appears to be anotherCraigslist Crime:

ATLANTA — Police in south Georgia are searching for a Marietta couple who went missing after going to purchase a car from a seller they contacted online.

Telfair County Sheriff Chris Steverson said the Georgia State Patrol's aviation unit has joined local officials searching Telfair and Wheeler counties for Bud and June Runion.

The couple drove to McRae on Thursday to meet someone who responded to an ad Bud Runion placed on Craigslist seeking a 1966 Mustang. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://on-ajc.com/1zGIipm ) reports that family members became concerned when the couple did not return for a family function and did not answer their cell phone.

Police say the phone number the Runions called traces back to a disposable cell phone. A missing person's report has been filed with Cobb County police.

New Orleans passed a far-reaching smoking ban on Thursday that prohibits lighting up in bars, casinos, private clubs—even in the car while waiting in line at a drive-thru.

Claiming there is no “constitutional right” to smoke, the New Orleans City Council unanimously voted to outlaw smoking and electronic cigarettes in indoor and outdoor public places.

The ordinance, which goes into effect in 90 days, applies to bars, casinos, parks, private clubs, any business establishment, recreational areas, sports arenas, theaters, and a host of other places.

“[T]here is no legal or constitutional ‘right to smoke,’” the ordinance said. “Business owners have no legal or constitutional right to expose their employees and customers to the toxic chemicals in secondhand smoke. On the contrary, employers have a common law duty to provide their workers with a workplace that is not unreasonably dangerous.”

The ordinance was coauthored by Democratic councilmembers LaToya Cantrell, a former “community organizer,” and Susan Guidry.

I had heard about this.  Fucking ridiculous.
If you can't do anything about a crime rate through the roof, pass this important legislation instead.

Where is Mayor Donuts this morning?
You rang?
morning Tony.
Hiya Deano.  Got enough smokes to get you by this month?
yes I do. my SS and pension checks should be in during the week so I'm planning a much smaller order than usual. the car repair drained what little savings I had, but at least I had it. if I were still in NY I doubt I'd have been able to get it fixed.
btw - deadbeat boy and dog are still living with mommy. he moved in when I left in August and they wrote him into the lease until March. nothing changes, nothing changes.

I was watching one of those silly videos on youtube where a squirrel kept getting into a bird feeder and eating all of the bird food.  The guy decided to wrap the bird feeder with clear Saran wrap, and video the results.  The squirrels were jumping about 4 feet from a tree and bouncing off of the bird feeder (pretty funny.)

Illinois has a no smoking law through out the state.  When it went into effect, the casinos lost allot of business.  You must be 15 feet from any building entrance, except hospitals where you can not smoke on their property.  Allot of hospital staff stand on the side of the road in front of the hospital to smoke. I wanted to sit at the park and smoke, but I'm not sure what the rules are for that..?

Glad to know you are running and getting some exercise, amazing you can drink coffee and run at the same time. :)

you funny man.
actually I wish I could run, was training for a marathon when the RA hit, I still enjoy a brisk walk. people here for some reason don't get it when I walk the 4 miles into town. it's okay to jog, ride bicycles, hike the paths for hours, but not walk into town. a great way to enjoy a few cigars too.
My grandfather used to walk every where and lived to be 89.  But on the other hand, my uncle sat and watched tv, was over weight, and drank, and he lived to be 100...?  Go figure..?

A major winter storm will unfold across the Northeast early this week, eventually becoming an all-out blizzard over parts of New England and the New York City area.
Those in the Northeast should prepare for the storm now rather than wait until the snow starts to fall, especially for those across eastern New England.
"While the storm from Saturday may have been a mere nuisance to travelers and a delight to skiers, the storm Monday night into Tuesday could be far more disruptive in terms of travel and daily activities," said AccuWeather.com Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski.
The greatest impacts are expected along the Interstate-95 corridor from Philadelphia northward where over a foot of snow is forecast to fall. The blizzard also threatens to bring the heavily populated zone from New York City to Boston to Portland, Maine, to a standstill.

actually I wish I could run, was training for a marathon when the RA hit, I still enjoy a brisk walk. people here for some reason don't get it when I walk the 4 miles into town. it's okay to jog, ride bicycles, hike the paths for hours, but not walk into town. a great way to enjoy a few cigars too.
My grandfather used to walk every where and lived to be 89.  But on the other hand, my uncle sat and watched tv, was over weight, and drank, and he lived to be 100...?  Go figure..?

I've seen a lot of people in both categories go both ways. I seem to be able to balance sitting on my ass doing nothing and wandering around the gulf preserve, trails, streets into town, etc. so when I die I die. I do know one thing, my stress level has greatly diminished since I left NY and the drama and chaos. now if I could be debt free ................
I do envy you being able to pick up and move off like that.  (Not really serious), but yesterday I was thinking how nice it would be to just take off for about 3 weeks, and visit.  :)

Did either of 'em smoke cigars?
My grandfather smoked a pipe after he retired at 65.  I don't know about my uncle, I can't remember seeing him smoke, but he did work as a bartender, so you'd think he might have.  I remember my grandfather letting me smoke his pipe with I was around 4 years old.  Could you imagine what would happen for doing that with todays laws..?
ha, I remember stealing my parents Pall Malls and my dad's Red Man plugs when I was around 10 or so.
I guess I was about 11, and you could buy out of the machines.  Even thou I really didn't know how to smoke, I like the Tareyton cigarettes with the charcoal filter, another one called Spring which was a menthol bomb, and those little filtered cigars, oh and Hav-A-Tampa wooden tipped cigars.

Tony likes a lot, I do as well.  Smoke is fairly uniform and not overly complex, but smokes well above the $4 price point.  Smooth, lots of chocolate, cedar, and starts with a bit of pepper, but not overly so.

This one is a coastal Nor'easter, so wouldn't affect your old stomping grounds.  Meanwhile, Antnee, Flip, Fishy and your's truly are right in the bullseye.
According to the Weather Channel youse guys should prepare for a slow painful frozen death.  69 degrees here if you can get out of town and head this way quick you might live.
As long as I can get out Thursday AM to head southbound, I can deal with the next two days.
Amazing to watch the weatherpeople wet themselves on air in anticipation of this.  Then there are the cliffhanger weather report lead in commercials...
Not just any old blizzard. A Fuk'n CRIPPLING HISTORIC BLIZZARD!  Life Threatening Conditions!!!

 Made 70 here now.
GFY!
I told you to get the f out and come on down till it blows over.

Guess you can travel to Germany now Dave.

In Dusseldorf, Germany a court has ruled that it is permissible for men to urinate while standing.

The ruling came after a landlord in the sixth most populous city in Germany sought nearly $2,855 in damages to repair a bathroom floor. The landlord claimed the floor had “lost its sheen” by being regularly sprinkled with urine by a male tenant.

“Despite growing domestication of men in this matter, urinating while standing up is still common practice,” said Judge Stefan Hank, who added that damage to marble floors from urine is virtually unknown.

Germans are debating whether men should sit or stand when urinating. Some public toilets in the country have red traffic-style signs advising men to sit while peeing.

Dammit I hate to admit it but at the very least Mayor Tony is absolutely correct about the Uncut, maybe even a little better than he described.  Next good special I will load up before news travels too wide.  Hope to see them @ $3 again!  And this one just came off the mail truck yesterday after 8 days of travel.
Outstanding cigar, easily smokes like a $6 cigar.  Hell of a value @ $3-4 IMHO.

Actually I do do Dusseldorf.  Good to know I have urination options.

I shook mine.  Makes it nice and cold.  I'm drinking by the light of the tv.  Don't really give a shit what the drinks look like.
