Use the Xikar 11 mm punch almost exclusively except for pointy seegars that is.  My grandfather used his trusty double bladed pocket knife.

Today is Friday, Feb. 10, the 41st day of 2017. There are 324 days left in the year.

Today's Highlight in History:

On Feb. 10, 1967, the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, dealing with presidential disability and succession, was ratified as Minnesota and Nevada adopted it.

On this date:

In 1763, Britain, Spain and France signed the Treaty of Paris, ending the Seven Years' War (also known as the French and Indian War in North America).

In 1840, Britain's Queen Victoria married Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.

In 1936, Nazi Germany's Reichstag passed a law investing the Gestapo secret police with absolute authority exempt from any legal review.

In 1942, RCA Victor presented Glenn Miller and his Orchestra with a "gold record" for their recording of "Chattanooga Choo Choo," which had sold more than 1 million copies.

In 1949, Arthur Miller's play "Death of a Salesman" opened at Broadway's Morosco Theater with Lee J. Cobb as Willy Loman.

In 1959, a major tornado tore through the St. Louis area, killing 21 people and causing heavy damage.

In 1962, the Soviet Union exchanged captured American U-2 pilot Francis Gary Powers for Rudolf Abel, a Soviet spy held by the United States. Republican George W. Romney announced his ultimately successful candidacy for governor of Michigan.

In 1966, the Jacqueline Susann novel "Valley of the Dolls" was published by Bernard Geis Associates.

In 1968, U.S. figure skater Peggy Fleming won America's only gold medal of the Winter Olympic Games in Grenoble, France.

In 1981, eight people were killed when a fire set by a busboy broke out at the Las Vegas Hilton hotel-casino.

In 1992, boxer Mike Tyson was convicted in Indianapolis of raping Desiree Washington, a Miss Black America contestant. (Tyson served three years in prison.) Author Alex Haley died in Seattle at age 70.

In 2005, playwright Arthur Miller died in Roxbury, Connecticut, at age 89 on the 56th anniversary of the Broadway opening of "Death of a Salesman."

Ten years ago: Less than a month after launching his presidential bid online, Barack Obama announced his candidacy in person, telling thousands outside the Old State Capitol in Springfield, Illinois: "Let us transform this nation." Gen. David Petraeus took charge of U.S. forces in Iraq. The AFC defeated the NFC 31-28 in the Pro Bowl.

Five years ago: President Barack Obama, under fierce election-year fire, abruptly abandoned his stand that religious organizations had to pay for birth control for workers, demanding that insurance companies step in to provide the coverage instead.

One year ago: Senate Democrats and Republicans united behind tougher sanctions on North Korea for violating international law by pursuing nuclear weapons. President Barack Obama took a nostalgic trip to the Illinois capital of Springfield where he launched his national political career nine years earlier. For the 15th time, officials denied parole for Sirhan Sirhan, the assassin of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy.

My memory gets fuzzy, but I don't think so.  They were marketed as a milder JDN, not economy offering.  Might have been around 32.50 at times, but no lower.

Fell asleep at ten, awake by 3:30. That's actually almost enough sleep, and closer to the proper timeframe.

Plus, I'm not going to the office. Today is a rockstar day. Gotta spend it dialing up gear and practicing. Big gig tonight.

Soon as it's daylight, gonna be biasing an amp and smoking a CLE Connie, I think.

Interesting calculation as user fees have not yet been announced.  (not debating that they won't be hefty when they are set)

Hahaha. At least I wouldn't have to worry about him picking the lock.

True story: I had a coin-operated washer and dryer in the basement of my rental property and the tenant hot wired it. When I caught him using the machine without money in it, he said the previous tenant must have bypassed the coin box and he just assumed it was ok with me that he use it for free.

lady thinks she found me a house. I meet with the owner tomorrow morning. she was at a yard sale when she found out it was going on the market for rent. she's taking pictures now.
Good luck with that Dean.
thanks Dave. think she said 2 bedrooms, attached garage, fenced in back yard. didn't say anything about a screened in porch.
Another Good Luck, hope it is just what you need.
now I just hope it's in my budget.
it probably is, if you don't want to eat & smoke anymore.
Will living in a house, jeopardize
the mystique of being a trailer park denizen, to the ladies?
I wish I had a house for Dean to rent. I wouldn't have gotten out of the landlord business with a tenant like Deano.
thanks Tony. too bad you don't have rental property down here. I'd rent from you in a heart beat.
The banter crew here should develop an investment association, purchase rental properties down there and pay Dean to be the manager
I like that idea.

hmmm, thinking. if I get a garage screen I'd have my man cave, won't need a screen porch.
I was thinking the same. Definitely something to think about.
it's a cute little 2 bedroom, 2 bath, attached 1 car garage, concrete patio out back. lady that was renting it passed away recently. asking $800 a month plus utilities. only comes with basics, cheap fridge, stove, dish washer. why the owner didn't buy the new fridge the old lady had, 2 years old for $75 and washer and dryer in garage for $150. I go see it around 8-8:30 tomorrow.

Afternoon all. AB Tempus burning. More full bodied than I remember from last time. Might have chosen a more "medium" smoke for midday had I remembered.

Gift shipment from Raz arrived. HNs and some other godness. Gonna let those guys stabilize a bit before I get into em. Thanks, Raz!

Putting together the notes from the week and reviewing. Looking forward to being done with the initial training and out to practice! Only about a year and 3 months until classes are done and bar prep is on!

Only other one I have smoked other than a couple of Lanceros was one Robusto and that was a good while back so really not too much to compare by but the Lancero is a good medium smoke.  Excellent draw and burn.

lady thinks she found me a house.
Maybe we could even get a show on HGTV....could do a combination of Fixer Upper and the Bachelor....
Call it Fixer Upper - Layer Downer....

Stud Finder... Tonight at 8 on SpikeTV
The possibilities are endless!
Two part show: 1. Main part, the day's construction progress (Dean, et al) 2. A sit down semi-circle of banter brothers at the end of each project day, cigar and adult beverage in hand (Ron White) discussing the project and everything else that comes up on the banter: the project (led by Dean), the day's history and birthdays (discussion led by Traveling Dave), cigar deals (sfish), firearms & music (Raz), karaoke (Flip), food (Tony & TR & Flip), moving & rack check (TR), all sprinkled with humor (led by OY & 3Bean), budget & custom finish work (3bean) ... have to include KC & JR to put things in historical context & supply the wry humor & classical/Cuban cigar reviews. hmmm, thinking. if I get a garage screen I'd have my man cave, won't need a screen porch.
Did you really say the house is CUTE?  Foo-foo!  Sheesh!
I did didn't I.
Indeed.  Suspension of your man card.
cute or not, it's a 3 bedroom not 2.
never had a man card so you can't take it away.
Partadas Black toro and coffee at lady's house, her daughter is coming over to cut my hair.

Only about a year and 3 months until classes are done and bar prep is on!

so we'll have an honest to goodness lawyer on the banter? cool. lawyer jokes are abundant.

Bound to.  I find the more complex the blend the more it benefits from aging.
