La Boheme fired up with a Starbucks splurge.
Not familiar with the splurge. Gonna have to do some investigating...
Sounds fru-fru.
Got sidetracked. Still need to investigate...
My Starbucks app is perplexed.
Must be something NJDave has whipped up special.  Extra froth with a tiger paw design on top.
Hahaha. I just realized NJDave wasn't talking about a beverage called "the splurge". Instead he was referring to the fact that he splurged on some starbucks coffee.

Today is Saturday, Feb. 4, the 35th day of 2017. There are 330 days left in the year.

Today's Highlight in History:

On Feb. 4, 1789, electors chose George Washington to be the first president of the United States.

On this date:

In 1783, Britain's King George III proclaimed a formal cessation of hostilities in the American Revolutionary War.

In 1861, delegates from six southern states that had recently seceded from the Union met in Montgomery, Alabama, to form the Confederate States of America.

In 1932, New York Gov. Franklin D. Roosevelt opened the Winter Olympic Games at Lake Placid.

In 1941, the United Service Organizations (USO) came into existence.

In 1945, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and Soviet leader Josef Stalin began a wartime conference at Yalta.

In 1962, a rare conjunction of the sun, the moon, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn occurred.

In 1974, newspaper heiress Patricia Hearst, 19, was kidnapped in Berkeley, California, by the radical Symbionese Liberation Army.

In 1977, eleven people were killed when two Chicago Transit Authority trains collided on an elevated track.

In 1983, pop singer-musician Karen Carpenter died in Downey, California, at age 32.

In 1987, pianist Liberace died at his Palm Springs, California, home at age 67.

In 1997, a civil jury in Santa Monica, California, found O.J. Simpson liable for the deaths of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman.

In 2004, the Massachusetts high court declared that gay couples were entitled to nothing less than marriage, and that Vermont-style civil unions would not suffice. The social networking website Facebook had its beginnings as Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg launched "Thefacebook."

Ten years ago: The Indianapolis Colts won Super Bowl XLI (41), beating the Chicago Bears 29-17. Singer-actress Barbara McNair died in Los Angeles at age 72.

Five years ago: Russia and China vetoed a U.N. Security Council resolution aimed at ending Syria's bloodshed. Republican presidential front-runner Mitt Romney cruised to a decisive victory in the Nevada caucuses. Running back Curtis Martin, the fourth-leading rusher in NFL history, and linemen Chris Doleman, Cortez Kennedy, Willie Roaf and Dermontti Dawson were elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, along with senior committee choice Jack Butler. Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers won the 2011 Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player award in a landslide. Florence Green, who had served with the Women's Royal Air Force and was recognized as the last veteran of World War I, died in King's Lynn, eastern England, at age 110.

One year ago: In their first one-on-one debate, Hillary Clinton accused Bernie Sanders of subjecting her to an "artful smear" by trying to cast her as beholden to Wall Street interests while Sanders suggested the former secretary of state was a captive of America's political establishment during the Democratic faceoff in Durham, New Hampshire. Infuriating members of Congress, a smirking Martin Shkreli took the Fifth at a Capitol Hill hearing on his practice of jacking up drug prices as CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals. Six family members were found dead in their Chicago home. (Two suspects, one of them related to the victims by marriage, have been charged with first-degree murder.)

Afternoon errand runners, chore doers, and chore putoffers.  At least there's still a jam.  Nice Pepin sampler for shank up now.

edit: afternoon now, sheesh.
So what do you call this sampler?  Header says III but contents list says II?

for clarification. we fought after I gave her a massage, she was sleepy, and wanted to rest a few hours before she went home. I went in to wake her, one thing led to another, then after awhile she starting getting upset about what happened and she went home. it was like she was a whole different person all of a sudden and not the same one earlier.
There are names for that....see Carrie Fisher.... :-\
LOL, exactly

Time to get to working.
Just got back from basketball. Hoping to not have to do any outdoor things today because it's friggin cold. I'll choose a couple of indoor tasks from the honeydo list and have at them.
Implementing Plan C here, heavy mist/light rain falling so it will be finishing cleaning out the closets.
Epic fail here. Heading out to get a couple of errands run. Sheesh.
And speaking of epic failures... I got wait listed for CF tickets. Sold out by 3 minutes after 2:pm.

Edit: To be clear I was logged in at 1:50 and followed the instructions. Site didn't let me through until 2:03 after continously attempting.

Hey Tony, same here, only mine was intentional.  My cousin-in-law, Gene, as of this week, can't make it, however things might change in a month to where he can.  My buddy, Dave (NoVA Dave) would like to go, but has a major audit at work the week following CFest, so he can't afford the time.  He was willing to pay my ticket for entry, but bring him home the loot, which is fine by me ... I'm still smoking cigars from the 3 previous Cfests, with some never used ashtrays.   But I do enjoy the experience and especially seeing and hanging with the banter brothers.  I thought the expenses (gas & hotel) would be too much for me alone to bear. (Just got a DC red light camera ticket in the mail  yesterday ... for $150!)  Think of all the cigars that could buy ... at least a box of Perdomo 20th Anniversary Sungrown Epicures.  Maybe things will be better in a month or so, if they have leftover tickets and I get the call.

/// Raz, hope you feel better.  Would like to hear your music.  Don't you have anyone to video a gig or at least portions and post on You Tube?  My brother does that with local and national bands (has gotten good at it) and has his own You Tube channel. He has become familiar to a number of musicians to where he gets invited back stage.  At a Derek Trucks concert, he was backstage when Susan Tedeschi (Derek's wife and music partner), handed my brother her cell phone, so he could take a photo of her and a visiting celebrity.

Best CigarFest for me ever ... was on Friday, I walked out of the building with something to eat and I see two guys standing there.  Without a word being said, instantly I knew that they were Barry and CB.
Then when we were talking, I see two guys, 50 yards away walking towards us, and instantly I knew who they were: Dean and Sooner Jeff.  It was like a school reunion, meeting up with old friends, yet I had never met these guys in person.  It just shows that the banter is something more, you really get to know these guys (and gal or two) over time.  Further cementing the relationships when gathering for a herf. When the 4 of us were standing there, we called Ken Glass in LA, to say hi and to clarify some info.  One of the guys had promised to get a signed book from Shorty Rossi, the Pit Boss, because Ken's daughter loved his involvement with pit bull rescues.  It was nothing short of amazing and wonderful.  Later we hooked up with LTG Dave, Nate, Tony, Charlie and more ... even Dalek made an appearance.  Sorry if I'm overlooking anyone.

That was quite the gathering.  Seems we all met up out front at about the same time.  Dean and Jeff came in together and we all joined up.  Dean, Jeff, Barry, and I were "roomies".  Our room lookout over the tent and line to get in.  Great tailgating.  Don't forget John, John, and non-John with Travelin' Dave.  Eventually Denali even showed up.  Barry made his move on a couple of the cigar gals and they joined our tailgating. What a hoot!  Oh, and the parking lot dust!

I have to run, good to see you guys.  Wanted to pass on that the 5 pack frenzy deal at Thompson (normally not a fan) has some really good selections.
You can only choose a max of one 5 pack of each.  If you choose 4 packs, it is $79 (less than $20/5) ... you may be surprised at some of the sticks
available on that deal!  11 pages of 5 packs.  My buying ban has been shredded in the past couple days.

Just got back from basketball. Hoping to not have to do any outdoor things today because it's friggin cold. I'll choose a couple of indoor tasks from the honeydo list and have at them.
Implementing Plan C here, heavy mist/light rain falling so it will be finishing cleaning out the closets.

And speaking of epic failures... I got wait listed for CF tickets. Sold out by 3 minutes after 2:pm.

Good for you, Tony.  You'll probably make it.  That's how I got tickets the last two years I went. Were  your tickets for Saturday?
Who else is going?  Friday?  Saturday?
My tickets were supposed to be for Saturday but now the wait list is for either day.
When ya gotta go, ya gotta go.

You couldn't advise him on how better to spend $500 on cigars?
