A chemical tanker accident sparked an evacuation near George Bush Intercontinental Airport, authorities said.
Just before 10:30 a.m., chemicals - including bleach - spilled out onto the roadway in the 2400 block of Farrell, said Harris County Fire Marshal Office spokeswoman Rachel Moreno. It's unclear how the accident happened.
"There's multiple containers that have spilled, and it's causing a chemical reaction," Moreno said. "Our Hazmat crew is on scene."
A nearby construction site was evacuated, and area businesses are sheltering in place. No residential areas have been affected.
