BREAKING NEWS: Two police officers are shot dead in Iowa after falling victim to an ‘ambush’ by gunman who is now on the run

An Urbandale Police Officer was gunned down  at 1.06 am in Des Moines
A Des Moines officer responding to the first incident was shot at 1.26 am
Des Moines Police described both incidents as 'ambush-style attacks'
The suspect or suspects behind the shootings are still on the run

Police say they have captured the man who ambushed and killed two Des Moines-area officers just two miles apart overnight.

A manhunt for Scott Michael Green has ended after many hours.

The 46-year-old Urbandale resident was named as a suspect after police received a number of leads and tips, authorities said.
